Joshua Tree is a very special place where many artists, musicians, and writers live and work (relocated from all over the U.S.). It is also the gateway to the magnificent and unique Joshua Tree National Park with excellent hiking and some of the best rock climbing in the world. The small town has a variety of restaurants, unique shops, art galleries, and entertainment. The desert landscape is vast with pure blue skies all day and star filled dark skies at night. There are a number of annual events including Music Festivals and Artist Studio Tours.
High Speed Internet, HDTV, retro record player, classic board games, books, art galleries, eating great food, artisan shopping, hiking, photography, kitch shopping, The Integratron, music festivals, music and art happenings, yoga, meditation.
Perfect. Went there to get away from the city for a few days, couldn't ask for a better place to stay. So close to town AND the park, beautiful interior. Didn't feel like a foreign environment, felt like David really put his heart into decorating the place and making his guests feel at home. The bed was so comfortable, I was tempted to steal the sheets, haha. Great big backyard, perfect for stargazing at night. Right next to Park Dr. which is the street that leads into Joshua Tree. Stay here!
I booked this bungalow for the time frame surrounding the birth of a new grandson. It was the perfect oasis to be close at hand and not underfoot. The beds were comfy, the kitchen in great working order, nice bathroom, with the added touch of creative artwork in the back yard. David was very accommodating when I needed to add extra days. I will use this rental again.
Our family of four stayed in this property when we visited Joshua Tree in March. It may not look like much from Google Maps Street View, but we took a chance and are glad we did. The location is great, right on the main park road. The house itself is very nice and we ended up describing it as our "desert cottage". My kids loved the retro art and record player, and we loved the fact that we could prepare our meals "at home".
The owner's check-in / check-out process was very easy, and he was understanding when my little monkey took chocolate milk in to her room and spilled it on the sheets.
If I rented this property at $290 a night elsewhere I would have rated it as 4/5, but for the price this property is a 5/5.
This bungalow was awesome for our trip! We went out exploring during the day and to come home to a perfect place to cook a little dinner wash up and rest for the night was just perfect. The Joshua Tree Park was only a 7 to 10 minutes down the road. I even emailed the owner with a question about the record player (that was awesome to use!) and he replied right away.
My only one issue (that is not the owners fault and not sure if they can really do anything about) there are a lot of dogs in the neighborhood (one right next door and in the yard behind the house) they barked a lot and all day. Thankfully they stopped to sleep during the night.
Regardless of the dogs I would totally rent and use the bungalow again! Could have asked for a better place!
Terrific location, near JT village and a short drive to the park. Both houses comfortable and nicely decorated. Very private in spite of being in a neighborhood. Big fenced yard for dogs.
My partner and I enjoyed this cozy place so much. We made some wonderful meals in the kitchen that was very accommodating. It was conveniently located close to JT park and the city. The entire trip was very peaceful and relaxing. We loved the decor and the warm feeling when you walk in the house. We would highly recommend it!
Very close to town for dining and galleries, thrift shops and park information center. Centrally located. Classic Board Games. High Speed Internet
