The owners of Paradise Pointe work hard to create a place where visitors to the island can have a sanctuary to relax and enjoy. Wanting to share the beauty and tranquility was one of their desires to share with everyone. It is their sincerest wish that anyone who visits with them will leave having had a truly memorable stay.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1970
Owning these apartments for many years, we were always appreciative of the beautiful views and peacefulness of this location. With the ocean directly out our backdoor, going for a swim or snorkel was always convenient.
Being so close to Seven Mile Beach, we could be there in five minutes and enjoy a stroll along the beach, dipping our toes in the ocean and stopping along the way at the many beach side bars and restaurants. Within vicinity to all the amenities anyone could want, we get to relish in the best of both worlds.
This was our first trip to Grand Cayman and we couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at Paradise Pointe. Mary and Phil are wonderful hosts and they are more than willing to assist with recommendations for restaurants, beaches, tours etc. The apartment had everything we needed and more. We honestly didn't want for anything. The seaside courtyard patio was the perfect place to lounge and meet the other guests. There is no need to rent a car, as the bus service is awesome and inexpensive. Most importantly, the Caymanians are kind and friendly and this added to our first experience in Grand Cayman. We will definitely return to Paradise Point! Kim and Don, Ontario, Canada
This was our first trip to Grand Cayman and we are so happy we picked Paradise Pointe as our home base. It's away from the hustle and crowds of Seven Mile Beach but close to restaurants, attractions, beaches and other conveniences within reasonable walking distance. Be sure to visit Cemetery Beach...awesome snorkeling and no crowds. Mary and Phil were gracious hosts, helping us pick up groceries and beer, scheduling tours and taxi pickup, and loaning us some snorkel gear for the week. We stayed in Apt 2 and loved the views from the balcony. The rental itself was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our needs. The seaside courtyard patio has amazing views as well and was the perfect place to plop down with a good book and a cold beer and simply relax for an afternoon. We never did snorkel in front of the property because the rocks were sharp and getting in and out of the water looked a bit tricky, but we did see several guests make it in/out just fine. We'd come back in a heartbeat...in fact, we want to invite our extended family next time! Thanks Mary and Phil for making our first trip to GC one to remember.
We are just home from a 4 week stay at this lovely location. This is our second stay at Paradise Pointe, and we cannot wait to go back. We wholeheartedly agree with the comments of others as to the overall excellent surroundings. There is snorkelling right out in front of the property and many attractions, as well as a grocery store and 'adult beverage store' can be walked to in under 20 minutes or take the local bus. Sandy beaches await a short stroll away, and beach chairs and towels are part of your rental. Good restaurants are an easy walk, and all of Georgetown and Seven Mile Beach activities are only a CI$2 ride away. Mary and Phil are great hosts, and very interesting to get to know. Phil is a published author and film maker, so get to know him and his work! Mary Lee is Caymanian and knows the Island intimately, and can provide you with much insight into life in Grand Cayman. They make for wonderful conversations at Happy Hour on the deck at sunset. Your hosts can advise and assist in making tour bookings to such venues as Stingray City or where to go and what to see in the area. Don't jump when they ask if you want to go to Hell, as it really is a place on Grand Cayman ! We have met some wonderful guests , now friends , during our stay. This really is Paradise Found. Brian and Susan, New Brunswick , Canada
From the moment we arrived at Paradise Pointe we relaxed into our vacation mode on Grand Cayman. As you enter the property courtyard, you will see the beautiful sea view and hear the waves. Mary and Phil met us with a warm welcome and showed us to our apartment. The accommodations are exactly as described and pictured on the website. We were especially appreciative of the ample supply of towels and linens, including beach towels. Everything was very clean and well supplied. My personal favorite was the refrigerator in our unit which cooled better than my refrigerator and freezer at home in Ohio! The kitchen has equipment to prepare meals if you would like to do so however there are also several restaurants within a short walk or easily accessible on the bus system. (Several other reviewers mentioned the nearby restaurants, so I will not duplicate their excellent information except to say that the Greenhouse was my favorite!). The apartment had a very nice television and the internet worked well although we didn't use either very often. The living room area is nicely appointed and the furniture very comfortable. There is lots of room in the bedroom so that you don't trip over your suit cases and plenty of room in the closet and dresser for your clothes and other items.
We did not rent a car and found the bus system very easy and a economical alternative. The cost to get anywhere on West Bay, Seven Mile Beach or into Georgetown is 2 CI per person or about 2.50 USD. During most times, the busses are plentiful and will pick you up anywhere along the route. They can be spaced further apart on weekends and later into the evening. We walked to the grocery store, cemetery beach, and several restaurants that were within a 15 minute walk. Initially I was a little hesitant not to rent a car, but I am very glad we did not use any vacation money on that - more to spend on other things!
The hosts are what set this accommodation apart from others. They are available to answer questions and point you in the right direction without being intrusive. Both Mary and Phil know the island very well and will give you kind guidance if you ask. We also enjoyed meeting the other guests and joining them at the waterfront each evening for a cocktail at sunset. We will return next year!
Our first day of vacation, we were snowed in at Chicago. But when we arrived at Paradise Pointe, Phil & Mary made us feel so welcome and we felt like we were in Paradise! The views are absolutely fantastic, the apartment had everything we needed and was very cozy. We had our morning coffee on the deck watching the cruise ships sail by and enjoyed beautiful sunsets in the evening. We have been on 14 cruises, but I loved being on my own schedule, enjoying the amazing ocean view, some the prettiest beaches in the Caribbean. The biggest choice of the day was which Beach to go to or just stay put and sit in a lounge chair I didn't have to fight for. Perfect!
Paradise Pointe is away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk to several beaches, grocery store or other sights. Local mini buses were convenient and only $5 US per couple. If you want to go on a Snorkel tour or to Sting Ray City, talk to Phil & Mary for arrangements that will pick you up at Paradise Pointe. I look forward to going back.
We stayed at Paradise Point from Christmas Day, 2014 till Jan.9, 2015. Mary and Phil, the owners, are the most welcoming people you can imagine. We loved being in a neighborhood rather than in a condo complex. Paradise Pointe fronts on the ocean. The waves breaking on the rocks are so beautiful. It was a short walk to the beach. We did not rent a car. The public buses were convenient and fun to ride. Our daughter and her husband rented one of the other apartments for the first week of our visit, then a friend flew down and rented a place for the second week. It was a wonderful way to be together, yet have your own space. Our apartment was spacious, clean and bright. It had everything we needed to cook and the nearby grocery store was excellent. We do hope to return sometime next year!
