I have had a diverse past. i enjoyed working as Social Director at a 5* Resort in Scottsdale, Storytelling, Watercolor painting, Photography, Travel Writing, Author of several books, Presenter of Personal Development Programs, Poetry writing, backpacking, hiking, camping, archaeology, I have had a LOVE-AFFAIR with the Rim Country since early 80s. I built my first home in Pine in early 80s. I feel at home best in our mountains. Nature has a wonderful way of putting us in touch with what is important and lasting!
Love people and have been in the people-helping business since I was second oldest of eleven children --helping with brothers and sisters while growing up in Arizona.
Received my universitiy degrees in Arizona, and working in real estate, catering, writing for newspapers, owning and oeprating my own Bed and Breakfast business, certifications for natural healing modalities, interested in how we can make our world better - one person at a time. I love writing about the goodness and courage that we human beings possess and actualize every day. I look for the good in others.
Annemarie Eveland purchased this cabin in 2011
We have always loved the Rim Country and Amazing Arizona. When I sold my Bed and Breakfast home in Pine, I still wanted to look for something that would be more suitable for our enjoyment. So, finally, found a new home overlooking the Rim, views of the forest---that was perfect and I enjoy sharing it with my family, friends and new guests, who often become friends!!
This area of the rim country is always available for fun outdoor activities or some antiquing, perhaps music, or a festival. I love just getting away from the noisy and bustling city of the Valley; the clean cool pure air and scenery are a gift for healing and happy memories. I love discovering all the changing seasons and the wildlife that are so native to this area and whether I am just walking with my dog on a path or sitting with friends at a tasty restaurant or perhaps listening to the live music in the town of Pine, I can relax more than I can in the city.
Try it for yourself! I would love to meet you and introduce you to our little part of heaven.
our slogan is come as guests, leave as friends, return as family!
When I am at our Pine Mountain home, I am often working on it! However it is labor of love and the scenery, clean air, loverly natural setting all make it fun! I love listening to the sounds of nature, looking at our visiting elk and deer, bunnies and birds and other forest creatures. Hiking and exploring the many trails, lakes, mountains in our area is always a treat. Sharing time with good friends (that I don't see in the city as our lives are very busy) makes it a memorable getaway time. Whether we are playing some of the many games, pulling a book from our library, cooking up a delicious meal, sitting our on our second story deck, attending the many town activities and festivals, simply swinging in a hammock chair or watching the fire in a fireplace or outdoors firepit, the days slip easily into nights -- ah, the perfect time to sit and actually see the magnificient starstudded skies from our back open deck.
Whatever the season, there are plenty of activities to be in nature, or cuddle up inside and enjoy leisure time and the quietness.
It is such a peaceful and pleasant environment that restores my body and soul! Surrounded by natural beauty gifts me with the serenity that my soul craves. Come enjoy this mountain magic and restore your being.

Our First Christmas Family Reunion! "
from handwritten review on our guest comment sheet:
We had a wonderful time in Pine. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable and has a very well-stocked kitchen. We made most of our meals so we appreciated it. The owner, Annemarie, was very kind, friendly, thoughtful and very gracious to us. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and attractions. The kids enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard and roasted marshmallows one evening. Annemarie set it up for us. She also arranged for us to feed baby goats at a nearby goat farm. We were surprised when we arrived the day before Easter, she had made up two Easter baskets for our children and some candy for us. Sheri was also there to welcome us and was very friendly, helpful and kind as well. She said if there was anything we needed, even if it was late at night, not to hesitate to call her.
We enjoyed the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park (only a few miles from the house) several hikes in the area. We took a trip to Sedona and hiked Red Rocks State Park. But the most fun was going to the "Out of Africa Wildlife Park"- a truly neat experience! Pine was a beautiful small town and a great place to stay if you are looking for privacy and a perfect place to relax! It is not far from Sedona (1 1/2 hour drive) and other places worth seeing. Payson is the closest bigger town about 15 miles away. They have a Walmart Supercenter, a larger grocery store and restaurants if you prefer to eat out. This is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors! Pine has a little market which has a wonderful bakery inside of it. Their fresh baked and homemade pastries and breads are delicious and we enjoyed those in the morning. Check it out! Pine also has a few restaurants and a terrific little thrift store. I found several treasures there!
Thank you, Annemarie and Sheri for your gracious hospitality and sharing your lovely home with us! We had a very memorable vacation. One we will always remember fondly. *:) happy
Lisa, Sheldon and family
We had our family reunion at the beautiful cabin in Pine, AZ. We all enjoyed ourselves with great company, food and family pets. During our after Christmas family reunion we became snowed in as we had a total of 12 inches of snow. We all enjoyed the snow, the beautiful lit fireplace and delicious Portuguese soup while watching Charlotte's Web. We can"t wait to do it again next year. Don't forget to bring your snow shovels!!!!! LOL. PS Don't be driving behind Tim when it snows cause he's green when it comes to driving in snow.... Sandy J.
Just want to say thanks for another fun time in Pine at Pine Mountain! Went up with my two dogs and girlfriend for a much deserved vacation over New Years. As always the place was clean, cozy and relaxing with the added surprise of a very cool snowstorm (the nice powdery kind) with accumulations of over 12 inches. That was quite a treat for us "Desert Dwellers" of lower Arizona. The dogs loved the snow and played in it for hours and we took a walk with them and had the opportunity to snap some fantastic "snow pics"! We look forward to our next trip to Pine Mountain-the accommodations were superb and the area is so relaxing-what a contrast to the hectic city life. I always feel revitalized when staying there and you will too!
Anne Marie thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home. The views were breathtaking! It was so relaxing & we just had a lovely time. It was a much needed trip & I'm just glad we came across finding your home. The hike was refreshing & thank you for taking time to be a wonderful tour guide. We all had an amazing time. We look forward to seeing you & Sherri again.
P.S. The whole family enjoyed seeing the wildlife from your backyard.
We enjoyed our abbreviated mini-getaway at this gorgeous little gem in Pine. I really shoudn't say 'little' as this is a full house, not a cabin, with ample space and a terrific floor plan. It is kept spotless and so very comfortable no matter how many in your party.
We really took advantage of the serenity and privacy of the backyard including the overlooking deck with it's gorgeous views. Our dogs were delighted to explore the nooks and crannies of the fully contained rear property and got an unexpected visit from some deer.
We hope to return for a longer visit at some point and thank Annemarie and Sheri for their wonderful hospitality. It is definitely a place to relax and unwind.
The owner was extremely helpful. She went well out of her way to completely answer all my questions and make sure my family and I were taken care of. The property was clean and well maintained. We could hear elk bugling from the back patio. The town of Pine is a nature lovers dream, wildlife everywhere, miles and miles of trails, big mountains. My family and I would definitely stay here again. I plan to come back in April 2015 for Zane Grey. Hopefully my family will want to come so I can justify booking this house again.
