The logs of the cabin are hand-hewn and have a marvelous patina that only comes with age. You will feel like you are in the backwoods, but golfing and skiing are just minutes away.
The first master bedroom suite occupies the entire second floor of the cabin. The king sized bed is a Select Comfort bed with a foam cushioned top and adjustable air bladders within each side of the bed. The dressing room/bathroom has his and hers pedestal sinks, a shower with a hand-held spray and a separate toilet compartment. The dressing room portion of the bathroom suite has a dressing table, a recliner and a large walk-in closet.
The second master bedroom suite occupies the entire lower floor of the cabin. It features a queen sized bed and a sitting area complete with a reclining sofa and an entertainment center with a TV, cable and DVD/CD player. The bathroom for the second master suite is a full bath with tub & hand-held shower. The laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer is accessed from the second master suite.
Bedrooms three and four are on the main floor of the cabin and each feature twin beds that can be made up together as a king bed if desired. Bedrooms three and four are on a hallway along with a full bath with a tub and hand-held shower.
The living area is open with a rustic stone wood-burning fireplace at one end of the room and the galley kitchen at the other end of the room. Relax in the seating area around the fireplace watching a roaring fire while listening to music from your smart phone played over the five-speaker surround sound system. The system also includes a separate pair of Bose speakers for the kitchen area. Or you may choose to watch a movie from the DVD collection in 5.1 surround sound.
If cooking is your thing, you have come to the right place. The kitchen features all stainless steel appliances including a Wolf range, Bosch dishwasher, Panasonic microwave and Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. Gather around the kitchen while a pot of chili (chile if you are from New Mexico) simmers on the range and relax in the kitchen seating area that includes a sofa, a four-foot square butcher-block island with stools and a small dining table with two chairs. Cook to your heart’s content with an assortment of kitchen appliances and accessories. Whip up a batch of cookies with the mixer or food processor.
The dining room has a large picture window overlooking the golf course with a mountain view in the background. Elk are frequently seen down from the mountains at dusk and feed on the golf course and even in your lawn. The dining table seats eight people. There are six chairs with the dining room table and there are two additional chairs at the side table in the kitchen that can be used for seating eight.
The old saying goes that the three most important things about real estate are location, location and location. This cabin has LOCATION. We are on the Angel Fire Golf Course across the street from the sixteenth green. The access from the highway is all paved and has very little grade to get to the cabin. The village plows the roads and the property manager will arrange to plow the driveway during heavy snows so you have easy access to the ski area. The ski slopes and resort hotel are an easy one mile drive away. Learn more at the Angel Fire Resort winter website.
The Angel Fire Resort Country Club is a few hundred yards away. Exercise, swim, relax, dine and play at the beautiful new Resort Club house. The facilities includes an eighteen hole golf course, pro shop, tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, health club, fine dining restaurant, bar and snack bar. You may use all of the facilities at the club. There is a fee for golf, swimming and the health club. Get full details at the angel fire resort/summer website
Enjoy cross country skiing and snow shoeing at your front door. The golf course provides miles of open land for winter activities that are at your doorstep. In addition to skiing, there are a myriad of winter activities in the Angel Fire area including snowmobiling, sledding, tubing, ice fishing, sleigh rides and horseback riding. About John Hamilton
We are a retired couple who bought this home as our mountain getaway second home. We loved the area so much that we bought a larger home in the area and moved to the mountains full time.
When we bought the cabin in 2002, we fell in love with the beautiful craftsmanship in the hand-hewn logs. The logs had aged to a wonderful patina and the location was too much to resist. We completely renovated the interior including new plumbing, bathrooms, kitchen and wide plank, hardwood floors. We furnished the cabin in a rustic style with a mix of old furniture and new bedding, sofas and upholstered chairs.
I am a licensed New Mexico real estate broker and an experienced property manager. Since we live on the other side of the mountain in Taos, New Mexico, we have hired a local property manager to watch after our property and to be available to take care of any problems you might have.
We furnished this home as our family vacation home and you will find the overall quality of the cabin, the furniture, the linens, the appliances and accessories to be much higher than the typical vacation rental. We have enjoyed the home for years and we want you to have a quality experience on your vacation in our home. I take all the bookings and am available to answer any questions that you might have. Give me call and come see our place! You will be happy that you did!
