This is a NON-SMOKING apartment

Nestled in the Latin Quarter, this studio surprises and delights. From the 14th century street, who would guess there would be a bucolic paradise behind the big doors? Set into a private street accessible only by a coded entrance, and with greenery present throughout the year, it feels like walking into your own garden as you climb your personal flight of sculpture strewn stairs to this charming studio.

Within easy walking distance of the bustling well known market street, Rue Mouffetard, yet bathed in delicious silence, the only thing to disturb your reveries are the birds in morning song.

This is a neighbourhood steeped in history, where you can feel the breath of the Musketeers flow out of Dumas’ pages and at the same time take advantage of all the services on offer: bakeries serving hot croissants and bread fresh from the oven, bistrots frequented by locals, cheese shops, right down to cinemas and theatres.

Only a hop, skip and a jump away are such world famous sites such as Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Jardin des Plantes with it’s renowned Natural History Museum. Only next door is the 1920s Paris Mosque and it’s tea-room straight from a Delacroix tableau. Around the corner, you can play petanque in the 1st century Roman amphitheatre – Arenes de Lutece or walk over to the Seine and dance tango at weekends while watching the boats pass up and down.

The studio is self-contained with everything from guides on Paris to wifi, free international phone calls, your own verdant window boxes and a kitchen-dining room.

Ideal for a couple with 1 queen-size bed. It has catered for 3 with a futon supplied extra.

Rates : €75/night, €450 per week

€10 euros supplementary fee for the futon per night

About Andrew

I started my life as an engineer. I've been lucky enough to work in about 20 countries around the globe. I've lived in Paris for 16 years and now teach at university. In my spare time, the abundance of art in Paris has inspired me to do some of my own, so don't be surprised if you find me sculpting or painting next door where I live.

Andrew purchased this studio in 2003

Great Location at a Great Value!

  • 4 of 5
Andrew's apartment was exactly as advertised - it is small but definitely workable. The neighborhood is great - many good places to eat and wander on nearby rue Mouffetard and other areas. We ate at Cave Bourgnogne (one of Andrew's recommendations) the night we arrived - the food was great, the service was outstanding - a great recommendation. The apartment is in a courtyard so you get very little street noise. It is a good respite from a busy city - very quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Rustic Parisian Charm

  • 5 of 5
My granddaughter and I spent 3 days exploring Paris from this charming little apartment. While very small (make sure you understand the size before you rent if that's important to you), it was cozy and comfortable. We didn't use the kitchenette other than to keep our drinks cold in the fridge. The bathroom is beautifully updated - the shower divine!! We absolutely loved the old world feel of the place. The charming courtyard with it's beautiful plants/foliage is quiet and peaceful. Slept very well in the comfortable bed (we also had been renting a place in London - which was super nice, but the beds were hard as stone so the bed in this apartment was lovely!!).
We walked practically everywhere. Anywhere you want to go is pretty easy to get to - walking, RER, etc.
The only downfall in our visit to this famous city was that it rained pretty much the whole time we were there. Not a heavy rain, but overcast which makes everything appear gray and dingy. However we were only there for three days and we weren't going to let drippiness stand in our way!! Being able to come back - after exploring the city - to the peaceful courtyard with its old bricks, its abundance of flora and fauna and the comfort of the apartment was lovely.
Andrew our host was, unfortunate for us, not in town during our stay so we missed meeting him, however we corresponded quite frequently prior to our arrival and his friendly hospitality was evident in every e-mail. His concern for his guests and their comfort is genuine (you're not just a paying customer) and he provides extensive information on everything you need to know to enjoy your stay in Paris. Thanks Andrew!!
Maybe one day you can come to Canada and we'll have the opportunity to reciprocate your hospitality!
I'm going to have to come back............there's so many more things to see & do!!!

Owner's Response: Dear Pat,
Thanks so much for this lovely review. I would be thrilled to meet you one of these days and am looking forward to seeing the maple leaves of Canada when I get back to Paris. I'm very glad you enjoyed Paris. Strangely enough, in the 6 weeks I spent in Ireland this summer, we had the opposite weather to Paris. I had only one day of rain and a few nights of rain. It was nothing but sun and gorgeous weather. You will have to come and visit me there. It's a lovely part of the world. Nice to be in touch.
All my very best,
Andrew

Best location small studio; easy to deal with the owner

  • 4 of 5
I stayed in this studio for 3 mights with daughter.

Pros:
-- Location is great. It's only 5 -10 minutes from Notre Dame, Luxemburg garden and etc.
-- The owner is very easy to deal with.

Cons:
-- very small; after you unfold the bed there will be no much space left
-- old appliances and bathroom/kitchen

Summary: Since we been in the studio only during nights and did not cook it suited us fine, however if you want more fancy place or going to cook a lot you might look for something else.
I'll go there next time in a heartbeat, but just because of nice location.

Owner's Response: Dear Oleg,

Thanks for your nice review. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to Paris. I always appreciate constructive feedback.

I was surprised to hear you say that the bathroom is old when it was replaced 2 years ago and everything is brand new with both a spacious shower and washandbasin (see photos)

I will be replacing the kitchen this autumn. However, 2 hot plates is pretty standard for most apartments in Paris of this size. There is also a small oven, plus a microwave. My studio is set up for short term visitors to Paris. It is not meant for long term rentals.

The size of my studio is mentioned on my VRBO page and I believe for the price in the centre of Paris is very good value. The equivalent in New York or London would be much more, yet Paris has been listed as the 2nd most expensive city in the world.

I do understand that guests from countries such as the US where space is the custom, have a more difficult time adjusting to mediaeval European cities where space is at a premium.

You are most welcome back to my studio anytime and perhaps the next time, I could rent you my own house if I am away. It is twice the size of my studio complete with stone walls, wooden oak beams and columns.

All my very best,

Andrew

Live Like a Parisian

  • 5 of 5
We just returned from spending a wonderful two weeks in this cozy studio. We had made our reservations months in advance and we were in touch with Andrew(owner) often. He gave us all the information we needed to get to the apartment, making our arrival very easy. Everything was as represented in the photos and description, even nicer as the flowers in the courtyard were beginning to bloom! The studio had everything we needed for our stay; a comfortable bed, great bathroom, and a kitchen which allowed us to prepare breakfast as well as simple dinners when we wanted. The location can't be beat. It's walking distance to markets, shops and restaurants, a Carrefour, metro and bus, but still in a quiet and safe neighborhood. If you have time and like to walk you can walk to many sights such as Jardin des Plantes, Pantheon, Luxembourg, Notre Dame, as well as many others.

Part of what made this a great experience were Andrew (owner) and Dina (concierge), and the neighbors we met. Andrew had a lot of good suggestions for things to do, the best boulangerie, and he seemed to always know the easiest way to get to where we wanted to go. We had so many great conversations with both Andrew and Dina that it almost felt like home! We enjoyed our stay so much that even before we left we were planning our return. We would recommend this studio to anyone who wants to experience Paris life.

Owner's Response: Dear Tony & Carol,

What a lovely recommendation. It's always so nice to get positive feedback. It makes it all so worthwhile. I really enjoyed meeting the two of you. You were so relaxed and easygoing and your experiences in the four corners of the world were fascinating to hear. I would be more than happy to have you and all your family back in two years for your 50th anniversary. We can try to organise some apartments in our courtyard for everyone.

All my very best from Paris,

Andrew

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5
I stayed in December for the Christmas holiday. I found Green Eden to be the perfect place to stay. It was in walking distance to at least 4 different metro lines. Also, I found it very easy to navigate through Paris from here by simply walking. Andrew and Dina were great. They answered every question that I had and also gave recommendations of things to do and places to eat while there. The location is very quiet and secure. The apartment is equipped with everything that you need. You will not regret staying here, and I look forward to staying again in the future.

Owner's Response: Dear A,

Thanks for this lovely review. Nice to hear your compliments particularly considering you were here in the winter when often people have a more difficult relationship with Paris in the cold. I'm delighted your first trip to Europe was so positive and please come back. Even if you are going to other destinations, let me know and maybe I can give you some travel tips. I'm a veterate traveller myself and the world is my stomping ground. Hope you're doing well over there in MD.

Minhas agradáveis no Green Eden do Quartier Latin

  • 5 of 5

Well located in the heart of Paris in the famous Latin Quarter, my studio is surrounded by good restaurants and food shops. If you like markets, there is also the famous Rue Mouffetard around the corner with it's fresh food beautifully laid out every day. You are within easy walking distance of Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, the Botanic Gardens among others. Discover my neighbours who, for the most part, also speak many languages, including English. It would be a delight to have you enrich our local neighbourhood with your tales. Come and join me in experiencing Paris the Parisian way.
