5 star comfort!

Its hard to give this little gem of a getaway enough credit wothout sounding like the owner!

We spent a week in this magnificiently situated cottage on the Ring of Kerry at the end of July and have only good things to report.

We were greeting and shown around the property from a friendly and welcoming local lady called Dora, who showed us everything we need to know to relax and enjoy this recently refurbished cottage.

The house radiates warmth at all times thanks to its underfloor heating which means that even after a long day exploring the surrounds, the house is a welcoming warm place to retreat to. Every room is equipped with all the modern conveniences that one could imagine neccesary but none of this takes away from the cosy cottage feel of the house.

The living room boosts views straight out across the bay at one end and a cosy open fire at the other for the nights in with a glass of wine and movie and your feet up. A glorious conservatory has been added to the house with views of the mountains behind and of the sea to the front. Straight across the bay is the famous Kerry town of Dingle and this is where the sun sets in the evening. The owners have built an veranda which means that nice evenings can be spent watching the sun go down with a BBQ to entertain.

The cottage is spacious and sleeps 6 comfortably without ever feeling crowded.

5 minutes away is a family friendly beach and the Ring of Kerry offers numerous activities to fill the days before returning home to this welcoming little gem.

This is without doubt, the nicest self catering accommodation, I have encountered in Ireland as it loses none of the quaint cottage feel but includes all the comforts of a 5 star hotel.

Enjoy your stay, no doubt we will be returning!
Owner's Response: Dear Holidayers, The pleasure is on our side. Thank you very much for being our guests. It is ever so nice for us to have people stay in our “Hearts Desire” who appreciate the place’s tranquility and comfort. We would also like to thank you for sharing what you have experienced. You are more than welcome to return. All the best. Margitta

Rooms with a view

The cottage is located 10 minutes off the main "Ring of Kerry", near the end of a quiet country road. It is wonderfully secluded, with mountains to the rear and an unobstructed view of the sea and the dingle peninsula to the front and sides.

The property was exceptionally clean, and it seems that in terms of things a person may require over the course of a weeks stay (cleaning, cooking, bbq, fuel for the fire etc.) every possibility has already been encountered and provided for. The standard of all the fixtures, fittings, furniture and appliances is impressively high throughout the house.

The living area is a particular highlight of the property. The conservatory/dining room is equipped with a large dining table and 6 reclining chairs with a panoramic view of the coastline from 3 sides. Whether its viewing the sunset on a nice day or staying warm while looking out at wild weather, this bright and congenial room is a highlight of the property.

The kitchen opens onto this room and provides all that one might need to cook anything from a quick breakfast to a full Sunday dinner. There is a huge array of cooking equipment: including food processor, blender, coffee maker and every type of pot, pan and cooking tray. Basics like kitchen foil, cling film, spices, flour, etc. are all provided.

The sitting room has a beautiful traditional fireplace, with logs and turf ready to be used, and this makes for a cosy retreat if the weather is bad or you just want to put your feet up and watch TV, listen to music, play a board game or put on a DVD from the selections provided.

Off the hallway there is a w/c, a large under-stair storage area with anything you may need, and a utility room with all the facilities for washing, drying and ironing clothes.

Up the stairs from the hallway are two bedrooms. One has 2 single beds, the other, larger room has an "Austrian twin" bed. There is a hallway between the rooms with a shared bathroom with w/c and shower.

The main bedroom is on the ground floor and has amazing views from the corner of the house. This room has an en suite bathroom, which is very attractively decorated, containing a w/c and shower.

There is a large deck to the rear of the house, positioned to catch a perfect view of the sunset or have a BBQ.

An enchanting property in a very pretty part of Ireland, a week here in Kerry was not long enough. There is so much to see and do in Kerry, I have just focused on the house itself. Enjoy your stay!
Owner's Response: Hi Karl, I could not have said it any better - but after all - I am only a Germerman. Thanks for the nice review. It is always a pleasure to have guests that like to look back on their holiday with feeling as fond as yours.

I stayed here at the end of July for one week, and just can't say enough about it. The house is homely, spacious, comfortable with everything you could possibly need (including under floor heating) The panoramic views are just amazing, we were lucky enough to get sunny days so we could have BBQ's on the patio and catch the sunsets. The locals were very friendly and taxi services at your request. There's plenty to do with a beach only 5 minutes drive away. We're already looking at dates to return next year....can't wait
Owner's Response: Excellent, and we can’t wait to have you again. All the best. Margitta
