About Billy Marcus

I split my time between Vail & Austin, TX. I am an avid swing & lindy hop dancer and travel all over the US competing & social dancing. My goal is to some day live in the Vail Valley full time and help build a local dance community. Though my passion is dancing & teaching dance, my career is selling meat or other protein based foods all over the world. I'm fulfilling the destiny of a long line of meat traders from back in the 1930's when my grandfather sold meat for Swift in Chicago. Another passion of mine is snowboarding & telemark skiing, lately it's been all about telemarking.

Billy Marcus purchased this house in 2003

Why Billy Marcus chose Innsbruck Meadows

I grew up in Kansas and my parents met at CU Boulder. They both have an affinity towards mountain living. Naturally we grew up vacationing in this area and picked Vail because it's one of the best ski resorts in America. We wanted a home centrally located between Vail, Minturn, Beaver Creek, Avon & Edwards making the drive to any ski area within 10 - 15 minutes. We also enjoy cooking and having Safeway & City Market within a 3 minute drive helps feed our passion.

What makes this house unique

I wanted to have a place in Vail that was close enough to rely on public transportation to get to the town of Vail but central enough to drive down valley to Avon & Edwards. The home is in a private, residential neighborhood which is close to the park & Stephens Off Leash dog park and a three minutes walk to the Meadow Creek Bus stop that picks up every 15 to 30 minutes depending on the season. The private shared hot tub allows our guests to unwind after a long day of activities. We are dog friendly for non-aggressive breeds.

Great place, incredible value, superb location AND dog-friendly!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed during spring break with our 3 kids and our dog. We were all comfortable, and there was plenty of room for us all, given that one of the kids is small and fits on the "child bed" in the upstairs common area. Billy pays incredible attention to the condo, making sure that everything is in good repair, comfortable, and attractive, and he's very friendly and approachable. The condo is well appointed, and the kitchen has everything that one might want to cook with. The location can't be beat: right around the corner from the shuttle line, and a quick bus ride to Cascade lift, or into Lionshead, or the village.

Our only suggestion might be to replace the child-sized bed with a sofa bed of adult length. That would keep us coming back for years to come, as our children grow!

Thanks for a great stay! We can't wait to return!

Love this Condo!!! Functional, cozy and great value!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying in Billy's Condo. It is very comfortable and cozy and we found it enormous for just the two of us. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay here. When you are happy with your accomodation it makes your holiday so much more relaxed. We didn't have a car but there is a parking spot if you do. The walk to the local bus is so easy and the buses are perfectly reliable! We got off at Safeway Supermarket several times to buy fresh food and just jumped back on the bus 30 minutes later and cooked the fresh food in the Condo's enormous and well-stocked kitchen. We didn't expect to cook every night but it was so easy we just kept on cooking every night, even after a full day on the slopes.

I found Billy to be very helpful and I feel he is a good person.

I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a great value and very comfortable Condo!

Awesome location!

  • 5 of 5

My coworkers and I were working in Vail over the weekend! This was a very cozy house! There were 5 of us, and plenty of room! Also very close to the bus stop, so it made getting to and from the village a piece of cake!!! Also allowed me to bring my dog which was super helpful!

Great value - decent accomodations

  • 4 of 5

The price on this unit can't be beat. The cost was more than reasonable and the unit was clean. The kitchen had all the required amenities. The hot tub on the outside of the unit was ideal and easy access in the snow. The area upstairs with what is considered the master bedroom was very large and had a decent sized bathroom, not an ensuite. The bathroom was new, clean, and bright. It even had a nice wall heater to warm the area on those cold mornings. There is also room for additional sleeping in the upstairs.

A would feel remiss if I did not mention a few of the downsides. As I said, the cost can’t be beat and we feel it was a really good deal!! However, the couch is horrendous and we tried never to sit on it as someone ultimately ended up in a big whole. The second bedroom and bathroom are really tiny. The bed is comfortable, but watch out in the middle of the night, least you forget the wall is right next to you. Last I will mention, but feel a bit odd doing so, yet truth in reviews compels me….. The upstairs bedroom did have a bit of mold going on at the apex of the ceiling and the beam. Billy was great with a quick response and sending a contractor over upon our departure to investigate. With such a quick response, I suspect that no one, including Billy’s cleaning crew had cued him in to the situation.

Having said all that, we would stay again if we are in the area.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the positive review. We have installed a brand new sleeper sofa sectional for the living area, it was delivered in early May 2015. We did not realize one of our previous guests had pushed the queen size bed against the wall, we have corrected that and it is in the middle of the room now with access to both sides of the bed. Regarding the mold, we have scheduled the roof and ceiling for repair at the end of May 2015 to make sure the leak is fixed and the ceiling is safe and clean. Thanks for bringing these items to our attention.

Perfect girls getaway

  • 5 of 5

My best friend and I stayed for 6 nights and we're looking for a relaxing getaway. We definitely got it! Our husbands joined us for the weekend but the rest of the week was filled with baking, cooking, crafting, movie watching and hot tubbing. This was exactly what we were looking for. The only suggestion I would have is that there be a list available to be sent via email prior to the trip of the kitchen appliances and utensils at the unit. We ended up bringing a lot with us, since we didn't know what to expect. Billy was very helpful and answered my questions in a timely manner. The driveway is very steep but I'm sure with it being heated, it melts the ice nicely.
