Thank you and your family so very much for providing such a perfect place for us to get away. In today's busy busy life sometimes we forget to take time for each other. The breakfast was so delicious and privacy was just what we needed.
Jacks little Cabin exceeded our expectation. Was the perfect get-a-way retreat for my Husband & I.
The listing was very accurate, the photos were right on target, the property was Very clean -Well Maintained & Welcoming, our hostess was very helpful w/any questions or concerns we had & not only would we recommend this property but we are already checking our Calendar for a return visit.
On our way down we stopped for a wine tasting at Belmont Vineyards and after having dinner in Steeleville at The Mo. Hick South...we return to the cabin & enjoy a very relaxing evening in the Hot Tub w/a glass of wine. Perfect way to unwind! The next morning we were greeted on the front porch by Sunny (the resident lab) who joined us for a stroll in the country side. Afterwards we headed down to Scott's Ford & spent some Quality time enjoying the very cool- beautiful Meramec River. We actually had the river all to ourselves until about 2 PM (which was rather nice.) After a quick clean up we headed into Steelville for a Sundae at The Soda Fountain then took a nice drive out to Dillards Mill (another Beautiful place to visit) where we explored into the early evening. When we arrived back at the Cabin we enjoyed some Cheese & crackers for a lite Dinner and then another sit in the Hot Tub before bed. The next morning we enjoyed our coffee & leisurely took our time packing up. It was actually hard to leave this Wonderful little piece of Paradise.
We booked this cabin for a stay 3/4-3/7 as a relationship retreat/engagement celebration. We saw the pictures and they looked "okay", but when we got here we were so incredibly impressed. The pictures just don't do the place justice. The design of this cozy cabin is so intelligent and the decor is warm and inviting. To lay it out in an easy format:
most comfortable bed in the world
satellite TV and internet
well equipped kitchenette (micro, large mini fridge, toaster oven, toaster, electric skillet, cups, plates, etc)
pet friendly (nominal fee)
private hot tub
patio and front porch with lounge chairs
bbq grill and fire pit with wood provided
on site INCREDIBLE relaxing massage availability (for a fee)
on site breakfast delivery (for a fee)
sweet resident dogs roaming the property
just a little over an hour from St. Louis City
Wonderful Host (Cindy is the BEST!)
great water pressure in the shower
Boat launch to river is just over a mile down the road
Flower garden (we are waiting for the weather to get nice to come back and see it in bloom!)
two properties to share amongst a larger group/family
nearby attractions include wineries, zip lining, floating/canoeing, and more!
You'll never want to leave. We had no intentions of coming back until summer. Here we are, back at the cabin literally two weeks to the day of our first trip. Now we're addicted and already planning more stays at the cozy cabin and the newly built log home with some friends. Our dogs are more relaxed here than at home!
Pro tip: If you like to cook (we're total foodies), we invested in a portable induction burner we bring with us so we have the option of a burner.
This is my 4th stay in 8 months. It is so close to Springfield, MO and yet I feel like I am far away on a vacation. I love to just hang out at the cabin, relax, enjoy her yummy breakfasts and get one of her massages. Sometimes I take my 2 grandchildren and they like to play in the river. The hot tub is so refreshing with no chlorine. Cindy uses something else to sanitize and it makes my skin feel soft. Best place in the world as far as I am concerned. I always feel welcome, safe and relaxed. I can take my golden too.
My boyfriend and I stayed for a weekend for his birthday. Absolutely gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice. Got a couple massages that were wonderful. The hot tub is amazing. Best weekend we've had in a long time. Will definitely be back. Thanks Cindy for making us feel so welcome.
As a treat to myself, I made reservations to stay at this sweet little cabin as I was transitioning from a job I had worked for 20 years into self-employment. Starting the new year in this sweet space was perfect. It has all of the amenities you need to unwind and unplug. The cabin has everything you need for a few days away from home. I needed the quiet space in the country, took a few long walks, and drive into town one day. The area is private and quiet, yet close enough to whatever you may need. While I didn't watch much TV, I used the wireless a lot. I recommend this little space for individual retreat time wholeheartedly!
We offer private canoe float trips on the upper Meramec River. This is a spring fed river with crystal clear water.
There are several wineries in the area offering wine tasting and live music.
Maramec Springs Park only minutes away is a beautiful setting. The fifth largest spring in Missouri which also has trout rearing pools where you can feed the trout.
Caving at Onodage Cave or Meramec Caverns, both just a short drive away. Meramec Caverns also offers a Zipline for the adventurous.
Live music at Meramec Music Theater or Wildwood, only 4-5 miles from the cabin.
We have two great golf courses nearby, St.James or Cuba.
