Great Price, Nice Location

  • 4 of 5

The house was nice and the price was great. The kitchen needed a little more cleaning, and the dishwasher didn't work, but we didn't use the kitchen much anyway. I would recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: I appreciate your feedback. I refunded $30. because the dishwasher broke with the guests before you. I left fresh flowers as well. I am greatly sorry for the inconvenience. My kitchen is older, but cute, functional, and recently painted. I really try to prepare adequately for my guests. Your comfort is essential to me. Again, thanks for your feedback.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday at this lovely chalet. We arrived to freshly fallen snow and the winter scene around the property was gorgeous. The description of the property provided was completely what we had anticipated. Phyllis was extremely accommodating on making our stay welcoming. Thank you Phyllis for providing us with such a wonderful holiday in your beautiful home. We would not hesitate to stay there again in the future and do hope to return.

Would stay again

  • 5 of 5

My husband, dogs and I had a great time! There was plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play in the yard. The deck was really nice. Husband even slept outside one night. Even though we were in the midst of summer , it wasn't buggy which is nice too. The kitchen had plenty of utensils/cookware even though we brought our own. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was not spotless but pretty clean. The bathrooms were plenty clean enough for me, so that was a bonus.

Based on the pictures it definitely seems that the owner has made a few upgrades too.

I definitely appreciated the all in one price too, it was very convenient not having to figure out well how much extra if someone else comes or with the dogs etc.etc.

Bottom Line: The husband and I have stayed in a dozen cabins in the WV, VA area. We have paid a lot more and gotten a lot less then this. If you aren't looking for perfection but are looking to save a bit of money - you won't do better then this cabin - which is why I gave it 5 stars.

TIPS:The upstairs shower has way better water pressure. Upstairs tends to get quite stuffy if it is above 95.0, so keep that in mind if you are coming with a larger party. Downstairs was plenty cool.

Wonderful Place to Stay to Explore the Shenandoah

  • 4 of 5

This was a wonderful place for our six member family to stay as we explored the Shenandoah Valley. The simple home has its quirks but is charming and was a great deal. We reasoned, "Why stay at a hotel when we could have a whole house for about the same cost?" The beds were very comfortable.

Owner's Response: hanks so much to my recent visitors for their glowing comments. I am enjoying the place myself this week. I only have a few weeks left to rent this season. I do my best to make my guests feel well cared for. I am semi-retired. This property is my priority. It is serene, peaceful, and safe. I love it here! You will, as well. Phyllis

Perfect family get-away

  • 5 of 5

Never sure what to expect when you rent a home, but this one was everything the owner described. She was very accommodating---made sure we understood how everything worked, even came when I had a problem with the wifi (which worked fine) and brought us an air conditioner for the second floor. It was clean and stocked with enough of everything to comfortable for our family. Nice to be away from people--walked around in the woods--very pretty. If we ever vacation that way again, we would stay there. Thanks Phyllis!
