We chose the North-West Georgia Area after a wonderful family vacation back in 2003 just a stones throw from where our cabin is located. The scenery, community, everything seemed so perfect. During our vacation we purchased the spectacular 36 acres and endeavoured to build our perfect 'get away'. The cabin was finished in 2005 and since then we have had many enjoyable family vacations. We now want to share the many benefits the cabin and the surrounding area has to offer.
We love the community in this jewel of the North-West Georgia countryside; it still carries the traits of a by gone age. Close community, wonderful scenery and friendly folk fill the area. Our property is perfectly located on a hill top with stunning views; so sometimes the most needed adventure is simply a good book on the deck or by the pool.
Another relaxing stay at our cabin, this time with our friends from our home town of Portsmouth, England. Fantastic weather which saw us all gathered around the pool during the day, evenings spent around the fire pit, toasting marshmallows or in the hot tub or just sitting on the porch looking at the stars. What more could we ask for.
We are back in the summer with our 17 year old son so already looking forward to that. Can't Wait.
Hope all our guests continue to enjoy their vacations here.

Well what can I say.....We are extremely luck to have such wonderful friends as Angie & Andy. They've made our stay a very unique and memorable time with our two daughters who don't want to leave, even though they are now due to visit Disneyworld.
Its been a much needed break and has made us realise how easy it is to sit back, relax and remember the important things in life; love, life and laughter!
If Angie and Andy would have us again we would love to return to see the most amazing views, especially star gazing around the fire pit at night.
We also spotted 3 satellites streaking across the star covered night sky, just in one evening.
Thank you again for the relaxing time.

This mountain cabin was fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from thier city life and relax comfortably in the countryside. Be aware that the house carries sound very well, so you may want to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. This did not detract from my visit whatsoever.
This cabin has a few notable highlights:
-The large kitchen area is very well equip, and was a joy to cook in.
-The view of the stars at night was wonderful, as the cabin is above any light pollution.
-The spacious lawn was perfect for playing catch, horseshoes, and other games.
-The proximity to Pigeon Mountain cannot be beat.
I am already looking to plan another trip here!
We live only 1:30hr south of the Lodge so came up for a short weekend with our 9 and 12 year old children to celebrate my 40th. I could not ask for a better gift! Kids did not even want to turn on the TV because they had so much fun outside. We over packed because there was absolutely everything you need in this cabin. Quality family memories were created in just a short stay. I you ever want to sell email me first!!!:) We can't wait to come back this Summer so we can swim!
We arrived to a warm glowing cabin after a long day of travel. The cabin has just about all your needs and there are stores nearby in either direction. We are avid geocachers and love to hike so this cabin was close to tons of both. You can go to nearby Pigeon Mountain and hike the trails, go to Rocktown there and watch boulderers....that was new for us. You are near the Pinhoti Trail, Lookout Mtn, Rock City, Ruby Falls, many sites in Chattanooga or you could just hang out at the cabin. There is a DVD player so bring your favorites or a good book, the table is plenty big enough for a jigsaw puzzle for everyone to work on together. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub after a few long days on the trails, we went to see the Christmas lights at Rock City one evening. I'd recommend checking out the eateries and sites on Trip Advisor, you can't go wrong! Lots to do in this area and you could spend weeks exploring! The caretakers were awesome and most helpful with advance information and quick when we asked for some firewood for the fire pit. Don't miss the beautiful sunsets!
My wife and I have rented numerous cabins, lodges, houses, and condos from Florida, to the Smokies, to the Blue Ridge (north Georgia) to Palm Springs, CA. Without a doubt, this is our favorite even though we love the ocean a great deal and have spent a lot of time on the east and west coasts of Florida. We have never had another rental be this quiet/peaceful/private and were fortunate to celebrate a week here for our 40th anniversary. The biggest plus to us is the heated pool. We've rented other units in September north Georgia and the pools are starting to get too cold this time of year unless heated. This pool is wonderful even at night after the temperature has dipped, yet it never felt too warm in the daytime (and we spent up to three hours a day in it, just relaxing on our floats and sunning). Note: the pool is not heated and is closed October thru March. The second big selling point of this rental is the absolute privacy if you desire it. If you want to sun for a week and leave without tan lines, here's your place. The next big plus for us was the fabulous view to the west of Lookout Mountain running across the horizon from north to south and all the intervening ridges and valleys. You can get great sunrise/sunset pictures right from the rental (note: you do see the sun set over Lookout; you don't see it rise, because of the trees on the east side, but you do see it illuminate the ridges/valleys/fog). The hot tub is great, too but we only used it once or twice because the pool was so nice. The kitchen is extremely well furnished and a delight to use. We ate outside at least once a day, if nothing else, to enjoy the hummingbirds. Some quirks (which to us were not in the least showstoppers): (1) this rental is really in the country, about 50 minutes from Chattanooga or Calhoun (GA) or Rome (GA) so if you need a fancy restaurant for dining every evening you will have to drive (although there's a great diner in LaFayette about 8 miles north). Don't go out, cook your meals here and enjoy the place. (2) The location is so quiet you will hear the lodge slightly "groan" as it heats/cools/contracts/expands. We brought a fan that muted these sounds at night. (3) The two main bedrooms with queen beds are upstairs, but the only shower is downstairs; there is a bathtub upstairs. All bathrooms open into hallways, none are connected to a master bedroom--no problem if there is only two of you. (4) Roku was nice. Movie rental would be a plus.
