I love the old Brownstone homes...and I love the diverse culture of this Brooklyn neighborhood!!! I love the warmth the people and the many artist...dancers...poets...and musicians.
We were very, very happy with our stay at this location. All brownstones are older, but this one was very clean and in very good shape. The flat was exactly as it is portrayed on the web site, and we had everything that we needed. A journal at the apartment shows many years of happy rentals from people from all around the world. The owner is very friendly and very helpful, though we did not really need much help. The walk to the Ralph St metro (C) is about 5 minutes, and it is well-lit and very safe. There is a Rite Aid right by the station, and we used it to buy basic grocery items. If you switch to the express train at the next station, Utica, (A train) you will be in Midtown Manhattan in about 30-40 minutes. We had no problems with going to the theater and then getting home at a reasonable time. We bought a one-week Metrocard for $30, and that got us everywhere, and we used the NYC card to save money on admissions. This rental was the cornerstone of our having an excellent stay in NYC at a reasonable price!
we loved New York so much and loved the appartment too. Very nice place, the neighbourhood is calm and the access is very close by subway to Manhattan and to the JFK airport. Naimah was awesome : very patient, very nice and so accomodating. Thank you so much for your kindness and we hope to come back one day in NYC
Naimah was an awesome hostess and really cared if we enjoyed our stay. She will bring you anything you might need and she returns all phone calls. Naimah loves kids and has everything set up with kids in mind. We were visting with our 10 and 12 year old and were able to make this our home for not long enough. The apartment was perfect! Buy a metro card right away. If you need groceries get off the train at Hoyt/Schermerhorn when you are out and about. Brooklyn Fare was the most awesome grocery store - highly recommend it. We thought the neighborhood was friendly and safe. We live in Chicago and this place seemed way friendlier in comparison. We hope to visit again.

To the person who thought the neighborhood wasn't safe, we disagree. We thought the neighborhood was friendly and safe; people going to work, taking care of their babies, and enjoying their stoops. We live in Chicago and this place was way friendlier in comparison. We hope to visit again.
Naimah is a consummate hostess who cares about the people who stay with her. I had the pleasure of staying at her lovely brownstone apartment for a week and even though the majority of my time was spent out and about, I felt lucky to be able to end my days in a cozy atmosphere. Naimah went out of her way, stocking the fridge with some essentials and even checking up on us each day.
The apartment isn't in the best neighborhood, but I never felt unsafe or worried - and we got back late many nights. There's a subway stop about 3-4 blocks away and the ride into midtown Manhattan took us anywhere from 20-30 minutes each day. At such a great deal, the commute was worth it.
If you're looking to stay in a nice apartment with enough space to breathe, at a more than decent price, make sure you go to Naimah. You will not be disappointed with her place or her kindness.
This was the perfect place for me and my friends who were traveling on a budget. The apartment had everything we needed and the landlord (Naimah) was extremely warm and friendly. She was easy to get in touch with and really cared about making our stay there comfortable. It's really a great place for the price!
