Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway.
The space
Wabi Sabi is an off grid getaway, with just enough conveniences (fridge, hot running water, solar power) and rustic furnishings to kick back, relax and unwind!! Located right on Playa Conchas, the waves and ocean breeze put you to sleep almost effortlessly (although I've heard people say the waves were 'too loud,' I have never experienced that phenomena!
We are located an hour south of Puerto Vallarta in the Los Chonchos eco development which is a group of palapas spread out among the jungle hillsides, two sand beaches and a pebble beach tide pool! A full time staff (English and Spanish speaking) is onsite to welcome you when you arrive and help with anything you need.
Los Chonchos has no roads and is best reached via water taxi which leaves twice a day from Boca de Tomatlan located 30 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta. The 40 minute boat ride is a highlight of the trip as you cruise down the breathtaking Pacific coastline, stopping at several picturesque beach towns, including Yelapa. The nearby town of Chimo has roads and cars but is a 45 minute mountain/beach hike.
This eco-friendly palapa runs on solar power for the lights and fridge and has outlets to charge phones and laptops. We have running water from a mountain spring and purified drinking water, propane kitchen range, full size refrigerator and water heater for hot showers. Wi-Fi has proven unreliable. Some guests have been able to get internet via cell but only intermittently so it is good to plan on being "unplugged". Definitely download Whats App before getting there.
Wabi Sabi sleeps two to four guests comfortably (hanging queen bed and 2 twin/couch sleeping arrangement in living area.
Unplug and relax with an uninterrupted view of the wide open ocean and lush green coastline.downl

There are 3 beaches in our small Eco Village. Playa Conchas is right below Wabi Sabi. It is a rocky tidal pool and treasure trove of seashells and beautiful rocks. I love to lay in the tidal pools and check out colorful fish, octopus, starfish while listening to the parakeets that live in the tree just above the beach.
You can swim and snorkel (bring your own) at the beach where you get dropped off from water taxi. The fish are AMAZING! We've recently started calling it Turtle Beach because.. well, use your imagination. It is a 3 minute walk from Wabi Sabi if you aren't too awed by all the incredible nature.
In the opposite direction is Sunset Beach. You MUST see at least one sunset there while visiting. Truly amazing! Swimming on this side is marked off with a buoy. it is about an 8 minute walk.
