THE LITTLE BLUE HOUSE-BIG TIMBER'S IN-TOWN NIGHTLY RENTAL HOME

Big Timber House Rental Photos and Description

OPEN YEAR ROUND! 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Home, (Sleeps 4) 2 night minimum

The Little Blue House, llc is an 1895 Carriage House converted into Big Timber's first official Tourist Home in June of 2011 and perfect for 1 or 2 couples or a small family. Keeping with its original charm and character, this 'in-town' vacation home offers nightly rentals within walking distance to fine dining, shopping, a movie theater, local bars stocked with locals, followed by a church for everyone!

Big Timber is flanked by the Yellowstone and Boulder Rivers, so access to World Class Fly Fishing is just minutes away. Horseback riding, a float down the river, hiking the Crazies, a visit to the Crazy Mountain Museum, or wild game and bird hunting is so close; you would think it's in our back yard!

The Little Blue House welcomes you to a private courtyard, with a BBQ, outdoor table with seating. Comfort awaits as you walk through the front door. The living room is warm and inviting with a stone wrapped fireplace, cozy sofa, leather chairs, a flat screen satellite tv, and art on the walls.

Passing through the living room, the charming kitchen is 'just like yours'. You will find a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, stove with oven, a microwave, pots and pans, lots of dishes, oodles of glassware, a blender, mixing bowls and mixer. Expect items like spices, foil, saran wrap, olive oil and more.

Off the kitchen is a small bathroom with a shower. Off the other side of the kitchen is a hallway to the 'Main Floor' bedroom showcasing a mid 1800 4 poster mahogany full sized bed. Simply put, it spells old fashioned charm and romance.

Dashing up the stairs, you enter a private 'Suite', featuring a white tiled bathroom with a garden tub for a soothing soak after a long day. A king size bed adds comfort to your stay upstairs, along with a separate reading area, a flat screen satellite tv, built in dresser and a writing desk. You'll also find The Little Blue House guitar hanging on the wall for your use.

We can offer the home as a 'Whole House' (2 bedrooms) or simply as, 'The Main Floor' (1 bedroom). Whichever option you need, it is your choice, and 'all of it' is completely yours. We do not rent to anyone else during your private stay at The Little Blue House.

We are NOT a B&B. We do not turn down bedding at night, put a chocolate on your pillow, or serve fancy eggs in the morning. We don't even make your bed. The Little Blue House is truly 'your home' away from home. Our goal is to provide guests with a high level of privacy and independence, while still being right next door, available for help and guidance if needed.

Although our Little Blue House has been thoroughly updated, its vintage charm has been retained. We worked very hard creating The Little Blue House. We adore it, and hope you do too!

UPON YOUR ARRIVAL, EXPECT: Coffee, OJ, Eggs, English Muffins, a special treat and a couple of sodas.

We both were born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, in Seattle. After 20 years of marriage and working together as sign makers, we decided to take the leap. We sold everything, looked at 15 towns in the area, and finally found Big Timber...near Yellowstone Park, the rivers, skiing, plein air painting, warm summers and a little guitar playing.

'Life is nothing, without a little adventure'

Barb Wilson purchased this house in 2007

We chose Big Timber for its central location to mountains, rivers, airports, and, yes, even entertainment. Being the county seat, Big Timber provided enough structure and an economic platform for the giant leap we were making. Driving many of the roads in the surrounding area offers a new insight to our place in America. Striking are 'the waves of grain', 'the purple skies' and vast land. The experience of a 'small town' is unique, and the opportunity to be a part of it has been quite an experience.

Being the First Montana Tourist Home in Big Timber, we can offer a private IN-TOWN home setting on a 'Nightly Basis'. Just like in your own home, you can cook any meal you want, which will save on your pocket book.

The difference between a B&B and a Tourist Home is 1) we don't sleep in the same home as our guests, and

2) we don't fix any meals for you. Instead, we stock your fridge with coffee, oj, eggs, english muffins, etc, so that you don't have to dash out and shop right off the bat!

Many people have told us that staying out of town can be too remote and they miss out on the 'local' events such as the Sweet Grass County Fair, the rodeo, shopping, dining, massage, antiques, galleries and more. 'While the husband's off fishing, the wife can be in-town shopping and having lunch!' (...hey, we didn't say it, but that's what we've been told!)

We are offering the best of both worlds, in-town convenience, with easy access to the great outdoors!

The hot tub's not too bad either! And your hosts? Barb and Jerry - we're outstanding and can help you make your trip to Big Timber and memorable one!

What a wonderful experience staying in the Little Blue House. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the accommodations. It was cozy, clean, and every detail has been addressed. As stated…an experience to fondly remember.

A Gem and a Terrific Base for your Vacation

The Little Blue House is just about perfect. We spent a week on vacation to explore Yellowstone and the house had EVERYTHING we needed to feel it was ours. The bed was truly comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped and the owners even stock the fridge with what you need for your first breakfast! They supplied us with detailed driving information on wonderful places to go, things to do and the best way to organize seeing Yellowstone. And we got to see so much more than just Yellowstone because of their recommendations.

But even though they live next door we never felt they intruded - the Little Blue House was ours for all week. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, furnished in great taste with everything you could want including satellite TV and wi-fi (if really MUST check in with the office) and a hot tub under the stars if you don't. Plus Big Timber has a Fabulous restaurant at the Grand Hotel and some great shops.

You just can't go wrong if you stay here - and we wish we could have stayed longer! We hope we get the chance to go back-SOON.

The Little Blue House A Big Wonderful Place To Stay!

My family & I stayed here for almost a week the end of June 2013 & absolutely loved this home! We were in town to visit family for a very important event & the Little Blue House could not have been more perfect for our needs. Growing up I spent several weeks every summer in Big Timber & was so pleasantly surprised to find this home for rent this past year. Not wanting to stay in a hotel/motel for the week, this house provided us with everything we could have needed & more with only one exception -- no washer & dryer in the house, which I'll admit was a bummer (& my fault for not noticing beforehand); however there is a fabulous laundromat literally just a few blocks down on the same side of the street & was wonderful.
O.K. Back to what the house did have & offer -- EVERYTHING! Not to mention the attention to detail throughout, even down to eggs, butter, ground coffee, juice & homemade breads in the fridge upon our arrival. And clean! Super, super clean. The beds in both rooms -- incredibly comfortable.
Barb & Jerry were absoloutely fabulous & very generous with their hospitality; always quick to respond if we had any questions or needed anything.
I would highly recommend this rental to everyone.

MY BROTHER AND I LOVED THE LITTLE BLUE HOUSE. YOU CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH NICER IT WAS TO STAY AT 'T.L.B.H.' THAN TO STAY FOR 4 OR 5 DAYS IN A MOTEL.
FROM THE MOMENT YOU OPEN THE DOOR YOU'LL BE ENCHANTED.
PICS. ON THE INTERNET DON'Y DO IT JUSTICE.
THANKS BARB

Owner's Response: We're glad that the pictures were enticing enough to assist you in the original booking, and we're even more delighted that it was beyond your expectation. Having a home to settle into and relax during a family reunion, a wedding celebration, or even a graduation makes the event more fun and comfortable. The two brothers could have stayed in a hotel for the same price...but why rent a room when you can have the whole house?
Glad you stayed!
Looking forward to your next Big Timber visit!

Thanks for making Christmas 2012 so special. The LBH was everything we imagined and more. Fully stocked a perfectly decorated for Christmas right down to the freshly cut tree.
You were great hosts...thank you

Owners Note: This was a lovely family of 4 visiting their parents/grandparents for the Christmas Holidays. The absolute BEST thing about their visit, was a gift to us from their daughter. She made a darling gingerbread Little Blue House. We love it. We posted it on our vrbo site and it is carefully packed away for next year! Thank you so much!
