Asheville is a rare place. Downtown, artists and street musicians converge with tourists and locals for a vibrancy rarely found in a city of this size. People sip cups of Joe at one of several locally-owned coffee shops, listen to live music at an intimate club. Visit the Biltmore House and grounds, George Vanderbuilt's famous home. They go on art walks, winding their way through downtown's many galleries. The Blue Ridge Parkway, which connects the Great Smoky National Park with the Shenandoah National Park and runs right through Asheville, is a great launching point for hiking and biking, or for those looking for a scenic picnic at an overlook. Mountain adventures await your visit to the Asheville area, whether you’re planning a culinary travel experience with a tour of restaurants and microbreweries, or if you’re checking out the area’s top-rated outdoor sports activities. There’s so much to see and do in Asheville, that the only problem is narrowing the options!

Family on a winter vacation.

Review Submitted: January 10, 2012 Date of Stay: December 2011
My family stayed at the home for a week in Dec. 2012. The home was clean and well kept. It was great for playing games and though there were only 5 in are group I could see how it would work well for larger groups. The only draw back was the weather as it was a mild winter and there was no snow. Instead we went on a zipline and hiked the area waterfalls. The hot tub was relaxing yet on windy nights could not seem to get above 98 degrees even after heating for 1 1/2 hrs. On still nights did get to 102. The internet worked well. Over all we had a good time and the house was well worth the cost. The owners were very understanding when a glass broke in the dishwasher and even went out of their way to let us use their personal crock pot for the week. I would definitely recommend the lodging to someone.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and we are thrilled that you discovered some enjoyable activities while you were here. Isn't the ziplining great?! This reviewer is correct; when it is very cold and windy you need to keep the jacuzzi covered until right before you get in or it will not maintain a 102+ degree temperature. Again, thanks for the review!

Amazing Home with Wonderful View

Review Submitted: October 12, 2011 Date of Stay: October 2011
Recently my family rented this wonderful mountain home for a relaxing mini-vacation. Our party consisted of six adults and one small child. This rental home was amazing – it fit all of our needs. The home was plenty big for our family – everyone was cozy in there own rooms. This home is much larger than the pictures show. The kitchen was clean and fully stocked with utensils, pots, and pans. We cooked almost all of our meals at home and the stainless steel gas grill really helped us accomplish dinner. We spent lots of time on the deck enjoying the AMAZING view from the hot tub! At night the fire pit provided us with warmth and yummy s’mores. All in all this was a fabulous rental home – you have the mountain house feel with the convenience of downtown Asheville being only 20 minutes away! If you are looking for a great location, great house, and lots of fun – RENT THIS HOME!

Fantastic Stay

Review Submitted: August 1, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
My wife, 2 daughters and two grandparents stayed at this lovely vacation home for 7 days in July. This home was absolutely perfect for what we wanted during our vacation: It was very close to downtown Asheville(10 mins) but we felt very remote while at the home. The location was absolutely perfect for the things we had planned while in the Mountains. Its close to Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Downtown, great hiking, Biltmore, the Blueridge Parkway, horseback riding, etc... It's only about 8-10 minutes off I40 so its easy to travel to other places like Linville to explore the Caverns or Grandfather Mountain. We also took a quick trip south to hike the Falls in Transylvania Co. The home itself is much bigger than it looks in the ad. The basement is very large with a huge HDTV(at least 55 inches), games and etc. The decks were great and we enjoyed the hot tub. Thw view from either deck is gorgeous! The inside of the home is clean and very well decorated. We didn't eat at home much but they have all the appliances, etc you need if you choose to cook there. I was also very impressed with the technology in the house. They had four TVs, with three of them being flat panel HD sets and all the TV channels you might want. The Wireless broadband connection was also very fast and I appreciated that as I did some work at night in the basement. I could say more more but this place is very nice, well kept and in a great location. We will absolutely be going back! Greg from Raleigh, NC

Enjoyed the Cabin

Review Submitted: July 28, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
Vonnie -

David and I had a great time in Asheville. The view from the upper deck of your cabin is fantastic. We enjoyed the early morning view especially while having coffee and tea.

We went kayaking on the French Broad yesterday, which was great, and Tuesday we went to Pisgah and saw the waterfalls again.

Again, the view from the deck is worth the trip. Feel free to add this info to your reviews on VRBO and Home Away.
