Proprietor Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980’s. Soon after he was awestruck by the experience of kayaking the Ocoee River.
Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as the Toccoa House Properties.
During the 1990’s Greg built a small cabin, The Riverside Cabin, on the Toccoa River, and envisioned a larger house that he later built on the ridge above: The Toccoa House, completed in 2000. Next came The Carriage House in 2002, and the in-ground, seasonally heated swimming pool in 2007. Our newest addition, The Grey Heron House, was completed in late 2007.
We also love downtown Blue Ridge with its quaint shops, great restaurants, galleries, and The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. In 2006, we purchased the oldest building in Blue Ridge and commenced a total renovation, keeping the historic character and adding modern features.
