WHITEFISH - The City of Whitefish has been receiving a lot of attention lately. First, National Geographic Magazine called Whitefish Winter Carnival one of the Top 10 in the World. Then, Harper's says Whitefish is one of the Top 25 Best Ski Towns in the World. Now, Vogue Magazine has something to say about Whitefish, comparing it to Aspen, Colorado.
Vogue Magazine has included Whitefish in a Travel article called: Destinations of the Month: Ski Towns, USA. Whitefish is the last town mentioned out of the 6 towns featured. The article compares Whitefish to Aspen. They wrote that the Vibe in Whitefish is like Aspen.
Whitefish residents are reacting in a mixed way, either they're upset that the article was even written, because they don't want the secret to be given away, and others say that Aspen is better than Whitefish...
The Whitefish Winter Carnival and several restaurants were also mentioned in the Vogue article. Other towns like Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Telluride, Colorado were also mentioned in the article.

I have had several careers and I never expected to be an Inn Keeper of sorts, however, it has been enormously rewarding. I love preparing this home for guests. I particularly like the positive comments from guest about the extra touches my team and I include.
Joanna King purchased this house in 1994
My late husband and I escaped from California in 1994. We were looking for something we weren't sure what but the place had to be more spectacular than California with high mountains and wide valleys with lots of rivers and lakes. And the people had to be the best! We got lucky to found Whitefish Montana and this has been my home for the last eighteen wonderful years.
I love the fact that I'm so close to town, to the top of Big Mountain and so near the air port.
I have the names of a few world class babysitter, however, you need to book well in advance.
In the house I love that every lake facing window has a lake view... and it's very hard to see anybodies else's house.
Don't over look the fine people of this great little town. You will find the locals are always willing to help.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location and views from for each room in the house are fantastic. My wife and I stayed at this property with one of my partners and his wife. It was a fun way to all be together, but it was easy to have our own space. When we were downstairs it was like having our own rental. The downstairs family room, three bathrooms, and small kitchen area were a great place to be on our own. Each of the three bedrooms has it own bathroom and there are also two guest bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The decks provided three different areas to relax. When we wanted to all be together, it was easy, when we need our own space it was easy. The kitchen was fantastic and a fun place to hang out. The proprty manager did a great job making sure we had everything we needed. We will be back next year.
This property is in an ideal location, close to everything you could possibly want. The house is beautifully appointed and makes you feel like a pampered guest. All the amenities are exquisite! We sat outside by the fire and roasted marshmellows looking up at more stars than I've ever seen in my life. The kitchen is incredible! It is very large making it easy for many people to help out with the meal preparation, not to mention that every type of utensil you could ever need is there! Joanna really went the extra mile to be sure we had everything we needed. Being a long time Whitefish resident, she knows all the ins and outs that make staying here an extra special experience. We will definitely be returning.
We are pleased to write a review of your place Joanna. Sally and I were very fortunate to pick this house. The kitchen was great to cook in especially since we are both "Foodies" we really appreciated a well put together kitchen. Everything was as promised. I liked Not being on the top of the mountain because we were less than 15 min to the top and we were so close to town and all the great restaurants. We'll be back!
We had the most delightful vacation ever! The house was spectacular in ever way. We asked to have certain wines and food for our arrival, and it was just as we asked. Mike particularly liked the extra added touch of having the fireplace crackling when we walk through the front door. It was a long trip for us but so worthwhile. We have fallen in love with Whitefish and now I know what you mean when you say ,"shh... don't tell anybody". Therefore, I am reluctant to say too many good things about your wonderful home and Whitefish; we want to keep it small and private and for ourselves.
What I liked best about this place, is that at night I can see every star in the Milky Way. No ambiant light from anyother house filters into my view. Quite secluesion with bucks, eagles and the occasional bear gracing the property. I stayed here when playing golf at the WF Lake GC, less than 10min. drive and that's with stopping at Cowgirl Coffee. This last winter, I was boarding chair 6 within 15min. after leaving the garage. Will be staying here again.
