The MOBIUS HOUSE is located on a 50 acre private wooded estate on the North Shore of Oahu. Designed as a live-in sculpture with both aesthetics and comfort in mind, it seeks to create an environment that is relaxing as well as visually inspiring. Every room features full amenities and encourages thought and artistic vision with regard to diverse spheres of human interaction:
The FOREST MASTER SUITE lets 2-4 people wander inside an Impressionist forest painting on a sunny day. A “grove” of trees form unique open shelves and a luxury double bathroom with tub has you soaking in a shady glen. Naupaka etched glass doors lead to a full custom kitchen and an exotic award winning dining table.
The PATH surrounds 2 travelers in serene, subtle shades of white suitable for a path of self reflection. White marble Zen “islands” set in a flowing river floor, a graceful grove of Utopium bamboo shelves, and a tranquil Buddhist Thanka floating above the bed further the meditative atmosphere.
The ARK sleeps 2 passengers on a romantic canopy bed beneath Greek light stallions cavorting across the ceiling. Over the kitchenette, heavily laden Bhutanese packhorses trudge along a steep mountainside, and a luminous seahorse dances in the full bathroom.
The OHANA LOFT sleeps 2 in a comfy Queen four poster bed, that faces out to the forest, guests will awake to the picturesque waving of branches and the soothing sound of the wind. The loft features a library for guests to cozy up with a good book, as well as a kitchenette and private bathroom.
The TERRA MAUKA SUITE takes 2-4 explorers into elemental Mother Earth. Sunset colored walls frame 8 windows and 2 large glass doors leading to the beautiful lanai and great lawn. Tones of dark stones and blue water envelop you in the living room, and a sunny terracotta grotto provides a refreshing shower.
The ODYSSEY MAKAI SUITE guides 2-4 envoys on a journey to multiple suns and moons. Downstairs in the living room watching TV you are gazing up at the stars, while upstairs in the bedroom loft you are drifting in the cosmos--your odyssey into the future.
The artistically arranged public areas are designed to be shared by everyone, and can easily accommodate activities such as group yoga, exercise or meditation. The COMMONS is the expansive entrance to the house, where a curving path of tiles bends along the floor like the twist of a Mobius strip. With its 2 sets of large French glass doors opening directly onto the large LANAI and 7500 sq. ft. GREAT LAWN, this space is also ideal for hosting your own exclusive gathering. The MAIN KITCHEN features contoured cabinetry enveloping top-of-the-line appliances, and the wine colored marble countertops match the leaf shaped dining table in the MAIN DINING ROOM. The outside LANAI overlooks a tropical forest stretching to the horizon and is perfect for a quiet morning coffee or an evening drink under the stars. Upstairs, the HIVE offers comfortable sofas and artistic coffee tables for relaxation or exciting discussions. Edgy art and modern portraits participate in this interaction by stimulating commentary on modern Hawaii. Finally, on a giant redwood slab table in the LIBRARY, you can browse through reference books, fiction, and art magazines or play challenging board games.
While very private, quiet and secure, it is only a quick drive down the mountain to a full service supermarket, deli and coffee shop. The North Shore’s famous beaches are minutes away, where world class surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and paddle boarding can be enjoyed. Horseback riding is available right across the road, and just outside the door are endless hiking, biking, and jogging trails. The quaint town of Haleiwa is 15 minutes away, with dozens of art galleries, eateries, and shops. Turtle Bay Resort is less than 20 minute’s drive and offers gourmet dining, two professionally designed golf courses, a spa, and tennis courts. For a night on the town, Waikiki is an hour away by car, and it takes only 45 minutes to reach the Honolulu Int’l Airport from the Mobius House.

My husband, our two children and I stayed at Utopium for a week over the Summer. He’s a professor and I’m an artist so we really liked the unique artistic atmosphere the house & the estate provided. We wanted a place that was nice but that also provided privacy and was safe for the kids. The Mobius at Utopium was all of that and more! We chose the Forest Master Suite and absolutely fell in love with the beauty of it! The suite is all wood and green and you literally feel like you have stepped into a magical forest, hence the name! We had our own kitchen, Jacuzzi tub and a huge shower. Not to mention they even provide Netflix which was great to occupy the kids! We also found the homeowners Nodie and Sam to be so warm and welcoming. They gladly gave us great recommendations for us to experience “The Real Hawaii.” You can tell they really took pride and dedication in building this unique home! Overall the Mobius and Utopium exceeded our expectations. I will definitely be recommending it to both family and friends that are thinking of visiting Hawaii in the future!

My partner and I own a Wellness Company and were looking for the perfect place to host a retreat. We wanted something that seemed in touch with nature, was private and had just the right “Zen” vibe and we found it with Utopium! Each of the 6 suites has a slightly different feel and theme but the wood, beauty and uniqueness are threaded throughout! It was just the perfect space we were looking for and we ended up having the best retreat ever! There was yoga, meditation, nutrition, massage, essential oils and the list goes on, all the while with the beautiful backdrop of the Mobius and Utopium. Our group had a fabulous time and they keep asking us when the next retreat at Utopium is going to be!
I'm originally from Hawaii and come back to visit my family here whenever I can. This was my first time searching for a vacation rental instead of staying at Turtle Bay. I was thrilled to come across The Mobius Villa when I started searching and was immediately captivated by the beautiful photographs of the different rooms available. I booked myself in The Ark for a week, and as soon as I drove up to the property, I knew I was in for a treat. :) This place did NOT disappoint one bit. The room was beautiful and I ADORED the canopy bed! It was so comfy as well! They have WiFi available, so I was still able to stay connected with my friends and do some work remotely as well. They also have internet TV available in the room, although I only used it once while I was here. I thoroughly enjoyed the private lanai and had my breakfast out there one morning, which was absolutely delightful. I loved sitting out there at night as well, staring up at the starry sky. I live in LA, so I don't get to see the stars very often! Since the rest of the house was empty while I was staying here, I was able to give my family a tour when they came by and they admired the entire house as much as I did! I cannot recommend this lovely place highly enough! And Nonie, the owner, is so sweet and nice, as well as Shanna and Cacia, who help out around the property. Everybody was very welcoming and kept assuring me to let them know if I needed anything. I hope that I can maybe have my wedding here some day as well, and I will most definitely be returning to stay here again the next time I come back to visit my family. Next time, I hope to bring some of my girlfriends with me! :)
We had the fortunate experience of staying here for two nights this Summer. What they have created here will exceed your expectations. Our initial questions were answered promptly - incredibly great communication. We stayed in the Forest Master Suite, which was gigantic, and amazingly designed. Double headed shower, double vanity and a huge tub. Although we didn't cook - the kitchen had everything you would need. A wedding took place the second day there, and even with that our suite was quiet and serene. Just a five minute drive down the hill to Pupukea beach and a bunch of turtles at Laniakea beach. Even closer was the Pu?u o Mahuka Heiau, an ancient Hawaiian temple that overlooks Waimea Bay. I took a short hike in the compound and came across a yellow and green moss path that took me through some amazing forest. They even have a land locked boat you can stay at next to the main house. If you are looking for a nice, quiet and contemplative place away from the tourists then look no further. I stupidly lost the gate clicker to the place at the beach and they couldn't have been anymore chilled and relaxed about it. Thanks Nodie, Shanna and Sam for an unforgettable experience. We will be back.
We recently had the chance to stay at the Mobius in the The Path. Despite the short notice, Nodie was very accommodating. The location is perfectly situated whether you plan to check out the nearby village, the famous North Shore beaches or the amazing mountain forests. Sam and Nodie have truly built an amazing home that is a joy to tour. Our room was lovely with every amenity provided. We were fortunate enough to stay on a rainy night and as we could sleep with the windows open, were lulled to sleep with the call of night birds and rainfall. The owners are warm and welcoming without hovering....they seem to have a knack for knowing just how much attention you need. If we ever visit Oahu again, we would not hesitate to stay again. Thanks Nodie and Sam!
