Do you love golf? Then golf the Links of Crowbush Cove and have the comforts of home ar your fingertips. We are central to many golf courses including Brudenell and Dundarave, and Eagles View just to name a few.
Come and visit Lakeside and you'll know why we own a cottage so far away.
Our non-smoking cottage is decorated with a nautical theme to make you feel right at the beach. We are kid friendly with lots of toys and space to play. If you love to golf you can walk to a world class golf course at Crowbush cove and have a game you'll never forget.
Take a walk in the moonlight so bright that you won't need a flashlight. Look through our telescope and see so many stars you won't believe it.
We are a short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches on Prince Edward Island. Miles and miles of pristine beach. Charlottetown is a 20 minute drive. In nearby Morell you can go kayaking or deep sea fishing.
The cottage has an outdoor shower to wash off the sand and a 20 foot screened-in porch to escape any bugs. There is a huge wraparound deck to take in the sights.
Not only do you have the ocean a few steps away but also a fresh water lake. Down the road you can go horseback riding on the beach and see a spectacular sunset. Come to our home away from home and you'll never want to leave.
WE are a family of six and live in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
We produce professional theatre in Niagara Falls.
Erin Hand purchased this cottage in 2001
Prince Edward Island is heaven on earth for our family. We wish we could spend all of days there.
We hope to retire to this beautiful place and never have to leave.
Lakeside has one of the most beautiful beaches on PEI. Crowbush Cove golf course is close enough to walk to. Our neighbours are the best you could ever want.
Come see fior yourself.
Carol and I have just arrived, and we are absolutely overawed by just how perfect this spot is. We're currently opening doors and windows to the beautiful breeze, and settling in. We've just filled the hummingbird feeder, and will shortly (glass of wine in hand) search out the hose to water your plants, which look quite thirsty.
We'd like to thank you for all the love and thought that has obviously gone into making this beautiful home the quintessential holiday retreat. We are smiling with tears in our eyes we're so happy. In addition, we want to reiterate our thanks for your great efforts to rejig the comings and goings of previous guests so that we were able to be here Saturday to Saturday.
Could not be more excited for the next 2 weeks - we're finally HERE!
Thank you again,
Your cottage is every bit as beautiful as the pictures you have displayed. We were a family of 10,5 adults and 5 children(5yrs and under) and we had plenty of space. You have a very well equipped cottage ,that looks after all needs.Opening the windows and letting that lovely PEI breeze blow through just relaxes you immediately.....nothing like it.The memories made in your cottage will last forever, especially for me(Nana)being there with my children and their families......collecting shells on Lakeside Beach or just playing in the waves ,it couldn't have been a better holiday.Day trips to Cavendish,North Rustico and many other beautiful little towns was pleasant but I'd have been happy just hanging out at the cottage. It is ,indeed, every thing your property description said it would be and more. I would HIGHLY recommend this rental property to anyone looking for a quiet get-away in a gorgeous location.(***** five stars doesn't seem enough).Thank-you for allowing me to make some wonderful memories with my family.
Loved the quiet lighthouse cottage in PEI. The pictures sent matched what we expected. The property was ready on arrivel. The short walk to the beach was fantastic and never very many people on it. Enjoyed the screened in porch to escape the bugs. Loved all your amenities.
Our family, including three teenagers and my mother, had a great stay at the Hand cottage. It was a fabulous location within walking distance of a fantastic North shore PEI beach and a stone's throw away from one of the best golf courses in eastern Canada.
The cottage is a very open concept with ample room. In fact we hosted a lobster boil with some friends and comfortably sat 14 people in the eating area at two tables with no problem. The screened in area of the porch was another great dining location lit with candles and free of mosquitoes. The deck covers three sides of the cottage so there was several different seating areas to enjoy a cold drink in the sun on the deck as well.
We loved that every little thing we needed was provided. Lots of dishes for serving and preparing meals as well as all the little things you needed like lobster tools, matches, food storage stuff, beach chairs, bbq and utensils, spices and condiments, you name it, it was there. It was clear that the Hand's use this cottage often themselves so what they needed to live conveniently was there for all to leverage.
The cottage itself was very nicely decorated with a seawater blue, lighthouse theme. The front is windows right to the ceiling providing brightness in the day and stars at night. It is north facing so the sun doesn't overwhelm the cottage with heat. There is a very nice fireplace which we didn't have to use but it adds to the look and has a big screen TV over it for those who want to keep in touch with the outside world. One bedroom is tucked upstairs for a little adult privacy. One bedroom on the main level has bunk beds and lots of toys and games to keep a couple of children very happy. The other is a little more quaint and comfortable for the child who wants privacy and somewhere to read a book.
Our family immediately felt at home and didn't want for anything in our week stay at the Hand home. We loved it, would rent it again if we go back to the island and definitely would recommend it to anyone, including the person reading this right now!
Enjoy it, it was worth every penny!

The cottage looked exactly like the photos and was very clean and comfortable. Erin has stocked the place with numerous utensils, pots/pans, cooking & bakingware, towels & bedding so all we really needed to bring was our own toiletries and clothes. There is even a lobster pot which we used many times...how can you come to PEI and not eat/cook lobsters?
The cottage is loaded with games, puzzles and movies to occupy those rainy days, however we didn't get to use them because the weather was very good. With 3 bedrooms, a family of 6 or 7 would be very comfortable here and having a washer/dryer in one of the bedrooms is definitely a bonus.
Even though Lakeside is located on the northeast coast (right next to Crowbush Golf Club), travelling around the island was quite easy and made exploring fun. For golfers you have Crowbush just 5 minutes away and Dundarave/Brudenell was only 35-40 minutes. Even playing at Fox Meadow (Stratford) was only 38 minutes away. Going to Charlottetown was about a 30-35 minutes drive.
The beach is 15 minutes away on foot or 2 minutes in a car and well worth a visit, or two. It's very clean and the water (Gulf of St. Lawrence) is swimmable.
Back to the cottage...Erin has decorated each room with a different colour scheme but kept the seashore theme throughout. Although the cottage is not directly on the water, you feel like you are at the beach.
Every morning we would be greeted by the hummingbirds outside the kitchen window or the rabbits chasing each other on the front yard. At night, while relaxing by the campfire, we'd sometimes see a small fox, or two come out from the trees.
We've enjoyed almost 3 weeks here at Ocean Breezes and would like to return some day. We would definitely recommend staying here.
