City Center was a perfect place to stay while visiting Charleston. Such a great location , within walking distance to so much! Historical sites ,shopping, and fantastic restaurants! After a busy day of enjoying this beautiful city, it was nice to come back to relax in the comfortable Mod Suite. Loved the vintage style of the suite. Also nice to relax with a bottle of wine outside on the quiet and charming patio! The owners made us feel very welcome and offered any assistance if needed. Definitely would return and will recommend City Center to friends.
I rented all 4 suites for my wedding weekend; and each person staying there commented on what a great find it is. The City Centre is convenient; walking distance to most everything on the peninsula. And they have parking on site which is a rarity in the historic district.
The Coastal Suite (where my new husband and I stayed) had plenty of space! The living area and patio served as the perfect spot for my bridal party to have breakfast before, and drinks after the wedding. During my stay we took advantage of having a full kitchen (we baked my wedding cake the night before.)
All of the bathrooms are amazing, the showers specifically. The beds are beyond comfortable and each room has its own unique charm. The owners love this property and it absolutely shows. I would recommend a stay at the City Centre to anyone: prices are right in line with the hotels in the area, but you get the benefits of a "home-like" feel and a full kitchen.
We rented all four units. The mod and Mackenzie suites are in the carriage house. Both of these are very small. I stayed in the mod suite and there was a bad odor in the unit (mothballs). I spoke with the owners and they did not agree. So bad that everyone who came in had to leave within minutes. I also found the bedding very uncomfortable.
The coastal suite is much larger with comfortable furniture and we enjoyed gathering there.
The owners enter the suite when you leave to turn off lights. I did enjoy the location and there was a parking spot for every suite.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-day stay in Charleston. City Centre was perfectly located for exploring the beautiful city by foot. The bright, cheerful and comfortable MacKenzie Suite was a great choice for us. We appreciated all the amenities and thoughtful details including complimentary coffee which was enjoyed on the porch each morning. The owners were gracious and helpful and we would gladly return and recommend City Centre to others.
My friends and I had a "Girls Getaway" weekend and the City Centre was the perfect place for our group. There were five of us, so we rented two suites, the Coastal and the MacKenzie, and couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The suites were very well decorated and well furnished and the Coastal had a fantastic living space where the five of us could gather. The kitchens, which we didn't take advantage of because of all of the phenomenal restaurants in Charleston, were fully stocked and the beds were super-comfortable too. The location was very convenient; less than two blocks from King Street. Free off-street parking made it convenient (and cost-effective) for us to park a car (which we didn't need the whole time we were there). The owners, Rick & Glenda, were very friendly and quick to respond to emails and questions and to offer recommendations regarding things to see and do in Charleston. We would definitely stay here again in the future and would recommend it to others looking for a rental in the Charleston area.
We stayed in the Mod Suite at City Center for 10 days this month and it as ideal. Comfy beds, great bathroom with plenty of hot water and overall very comfortable and very clean. This location is great and the hosts are very helpful with recommendations for dining, etc. We are already planning to stay again.
