A good value

The property is in a great neighborhood, lots of great restaurants and a park close by. He house is in decent condition for an older home, they keep it clean and ask guests to remove their shoes and also provide slippers to walk around in. The bed was moderately comfortable and the room was clean. The ladies who own the establishment do try to make this a nice experience. We really enjoyed meeting the guests from all parts of the world and had pleasant conversations at breakfast both mornings.
There were a couple minor downsides for us
1: We expected some light housekeeping to replace wash cloths and possibly hand towels during the 2nd day but they did not and we arrived back home too late to ask and so we had to use our same washcloths 2 days in a row, not a major deal.
2: Parking is slim, 2 spaces for the entire house, the rest of the guests have to grab street parking first come, first serve in a fairly crowded neighborhood street. But we managed and so again not a really big deal.
3: I am new to the B&B experience and so I didn’t in advance think to advise them of any special dietary needs. I am not diabetic but can experience hypoglycemia if I don’t eat sufficient protein for breakfast and find I do best by avoiding high glycemic foods in the mornings. The breakfast the first day was lovely with a baked egg quiche like dish, fresh fruit and toast. I don’t eat breads or high glycemic foods in the mornings and so I ran back to the kitchen and I asked them not to include toast on my plate and that I don’t eat bread with breakfast. But the 2nd day they served French toast dusted with powdered sugar, fruit and syrup. I don’t personally consider this breakfast, it’s more like dessert and so when I asked if I could have a couple scrambled eggs instead, she got kind of mad at me in front of all the other guests, saying that I had to give them 24 hours’ notice if I wanted anything else. I told her I thought informing her the day before of my bread avoidance would have tipped her off, she did go fetch me some eggs but served them kind of begrudgingly, with a curt reply to my thank you. The eggs then served were not really enjoyable, wet and tasteless. Nothing like the meal we had the day before. Admittedly it was a newbie error for not having prearranged any special meal accommodations, but I was only asking for a few scrambled eggs and was disappointed to have such an unsupported reaction. We stayed two nights and the only special accommodation I had ask
