This log cabin is very cute and private! There are 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and lots of charm.
The pellet stove in the living room can keep the whole house warm and is VERY easy to use. Just fill the hopper with pellets and set the temperature!
The first floor has the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom with queen bed. The loft has a king size bed.
The mahogany porch on the front of the house has comfortable Adirondack furniture and is a relaxing place to spend an afternoon. Dogs will enjoy the fenced yard and green grass.
The house is on town sewer and has a private well. Well water can have an unfamiliar odor and taste. Some may want bottled water for drinking and cooking here.

I lived in this house for 16 years, then married and moved closer to where my husband works. But I love this house and visit it often! It makes me sad to think of it empty!
Alison purchased this house in 1995
Richmond is a beautiful area with so many options for fun! There is local skiing, lots of hiking and biking, music, arts, and agriculture. There is also a private beach on Richmond Pond.
This is a quiet community where going for a walk is a pleasure! Take a walk up to Bartlett's Apple Orchard for coffee and the paper and enjoy the foliage!
The cottage is small and not well equipped (lacks basic kitchen equipment). The water has a very unpleasant smell (like sulfur -or better - rotten eggs) - you don't want to brush your teeth with it and definitely don't want to use it for cooking. So you need buy a lot of bottled water! The owner is not very responsive.
An adorable, clean cabin. It certainly is a special place. The yard is amazing. Our cocker spaniel, Otis, had an awesome time in the yard. There is no better place than sitting on the porch reading and enjoying the peace and quite. The foliage was just what we hoped for.
You get such a sense of how much of a dog lover the owner is, as you can see it in all the personal touches throughout the cabin.
Thanks again for allowing us to spend time in your adorable cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed the area and we hope to make it back.
I would definitely recommend a visit.
This log home has a very warm and inviting country atmosphere inside and outside. The bushes growing on the perimeter of the yard provide complete privacy. A small wooded area on one side of the cabin provides a home for the rabbits which scamper around the lot on a regular basis. Modern conveniences (like the wireless Internet) make this home very visitor friendly. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. This cabin near the water is an excellent warm-weather destination. My sojourn here was a very pleasant experience, and I plan to make return visits.
This is one of those rare listings that's better than advertised. The photos just don't do it justice. This home was very obviously loved and lived in (not just, e.g., the family's summer house that they rent out when they're not using). It really shows in the details, particularly in the kitchen! :)
The cabin feels very spacious and open, and the king-sized bed in the loft was exceedingly comfortable. I have to say, we really enjoyed the pellet stove, too. It was easy (and fun) to operate (though you may have to carry 40-lb bags of wood pellets up a flight of stairs), and much more convenient than a wood-burning fireplace.
Oh, and don't worry if you forget to pack the dog bowls, because you are covered. I've stayed in a lot of pet-friendly accomodations, but this is the first time I've stayed at the accomodations of a real dog *lover*, and seeing all the photos etc. really made the cabin all that much more welcoming.
All in all, we found it very hard to pack up and head for home. I hope we can come back again for a longer stay!
Everything about this rental was just as expected and hassle free. The cabin is in a small lake neighborhood that has lots of privacy and a fenced yard and courtyard. People with pets and small children will especially appreciate this. It allows an indoor/outdoor living space complete with a beautiful covered porch and an alternate sunny courtyard depending on the weather. The inside is open and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms a full bath and laundry. We ventured out to hike Mt Greylock, have dinner in a few top notch restaurants in Lenox and Stockbridge. We also loved the Norman Rockwell Museum & touring Edith Wharton's home, The Mount.
