Grandpa Joe especially enjoys taking walks on the beach with his family. He says, 'there are a lot fewer swimmers in December but a lot more seashells'. He noted that his granddaughters, Chloe and Maeve, are better at finding seashells, but his grandsons Luke and Kyle like to fish more. His other seashore buddies, Todd and Scott, also enjoy joining 'Mr. Joe' on family fishing outings.
When our family was growing up, we lived in Lubbock, Texas. Galveston was always one of our favorite places to visit. We loved the local history, the beach, the big ships , the fresh seafood – and how all of this contrasted to our home in West Texas. Sometimes we would leave after work and drive our camper van into the late hours and end up camping on the beach in Galveston. The more we went, the better we liked the area and someday wanted to upgrade our experiences with a place of our own. Now the kids are grown and there are grandchildren. We no longer live in West Texas and are closer to the Texas Coast. We look at our Galveston condo as a long term family investment. When we furnished this unit, we chose first class accessories – furniture, beds, TV’s - the same high quality items that we would want in our own homes. We always expected to offset a portion of these premium expenses with rental income. So when grandpa went condo shopping in Galveston, he wanted a place that had great views, wonderful amenities, on the beach, and nearby the historic Strand restaurant/entertainment area. The Emerald fits all these wants perfectly. We hope this condo will not only be a good investment of money – but also an investment in great family memories. A place that can be enjoyed by our children, grandchildren and possibly even to our grandchildren’s children.
