Relaxation in a great home!

We stayed here with friends and two toddlers. It was a great home, with an easy rental experience, and a great spot for a relaxation vacation. Cape Charles and this home are a great spot for folks who enjoy spending time at a modest beach, small towns, and want to slow down the pace of summer.
Renting Logistics: We contacted the rental agent. The photos of the home were accurate. The home really is VERY new and we appreciated the honesty of the rental agents.
About Cape Charles: Cape Charles is an old fishing village that has a modest beach. We enjoyed simply setting up camp at the public beach. While the beach spot immediately behind the home may not be lush as beach erosion creeps in, the public beach is accessible, fairly clean, quiet, and simple. Cape Charles has a solid base of residents, but new vacation rental development appears on the horizon. I think Cape Charles is best suited for weekend visitors, as stores in "downtown" Cape Charles are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and there simply aren't that many stores. A few more stores, in fact, would make this a great candidate for our return visit, but we were mostly content with the ice cream shop, coffee shop, pub, restaurant, hardware store, pharmacy, and office supply store that were open. In a nutshell, you won't be able to do a ton of shopping in Cape Charles, but you can find things you need and some trinkets. As a group with toddlers, we found a trip to the Virginia Beach Aquarium and Chincoteague were great day trips for us.
The Home: LOVED this house. It is new and well stocked for vacationers. The rooms were well laid out and the bedroom on the first floor actually worked for us. For two couples with two toddlers, we did not feel like we were crowding each other. If we could change anything about the house, it may be to have a separate family room. We really appreciated the linen service and the cleaning service; it just made us feel really comfortable that extra effort was made to keep this home spotless yet homey. If you love to cook, this place can definitely work for you. I would only bring your own hand mixer as the home did not have one. Quite simply, it had everything - nice furnishings, beach furniture we could take to the beach, a nice deck and grill for outdoor dining, great views of the water, and delightfully peaceful.
NOTE: Home is, adjacent to a small apartment community. The residents of the apartment community were fine and polite enough.
