|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
The Sequoia Park View House is set right on the Kaweah River, two miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. The spectacular views from all rooms stretch from the main fork of the Kaweah River all the way to the tops of Morro Rock and the snow capped Alta Peak in Sequoia National Park. Even the Three Rivers natives say, 'WOW, WHAT A VIEW!' when they first walk through the front door.
We do accept reservations for a two night stay during the summer and holiday season at the standard rate of $400 per night.
We now provide free long distance calling within the U.S. via our land line phone, because the service of some cell phone providers for our area is poor.
There are two bedrooms with queen beds in each and a double sized futon in the lower river room, which has a wall of windows from the floor to the vaulted ceiling 18 feet above. The upper river room shares the same vaulted ceiling and overlooks the lower river room. It has a TV/DVD/VCR and stereo, ceiling fan, and dining table and chairs. It opens into the kitchen area, which is equipped with ceiling fan, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, oven/range, and all the necessary dishes, glasswares, and cooking utensils.
The lower river room opens onto the covered upper deck, which includes a ceiling fan and the outside dining table and chairs. A lower deck is seven steps down from there and is perched over gigantic boulders on the edge of the river.
The master bedroom also has a TV/DVD/VCR, a vaulted ceiling with ceiling fan, and adjoins the spacious master bath/dressing area. The hallway bathroom has a tub and shower with a Sequoia Park view as well.
There is a gas barbeque grill on the lanai, and up a walkway you will find our horseshoe pit area and expansive views of the foothills and mountains. The house is privately situated on one and two/thirds acres at the end of a 400' paved driveway. There is satellite TV reception and a land line phone for local and free long distance calling in the U.S. This 2,100 square foot house was built in 1994 and has central air conditioning and heating
You will find sitting on the river deck so mesmerizing and relaxing that it will be hard to pull yourself away to enjoy all that Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and the Three Rivers area has to offer.
NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE!
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OR PART OF THE $500 RESERVATION/SECURITY DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF THE HOUSE HAS BEEN SMOKED IN OR LEFT IN AN UNUSUALLY DIRTY CONDITION OR IF THERE ARE ANY DAMAGES TO THE HOUSE OR PROPERTY.
My daughter & I stayed 4 nights during Spring Break. The house was very spacious - especially since there were just two of us. We loved looking out the large windows to the mountains while we cooked, read or just relaxed. And at night we had a great view of the stars. The river just outside our door was low flowing. We loved putting our feet in the icy cold water. 2 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park made hiking very easy. The beds were comfy and the place was very clean. Shoes off at the front door. The master suite is like a huge apartment. The bathroom had just been remodeled. We cooked each day and had everything we needed. There is a phone at the house to use because cell service with AT&T is spotty and nonexistent with Verizon. There is no internet either. Completely unplugged!! Nice! There is Satellite TV if you still feel the need to connect. We can't wait to come again and bring a larger group with us.
We stayed over xmas break and had a wonderful time. The high ceiling, open window view of the river beneath is refreshing and memorable. The house is comfortably furnished and has plenty of room for 3 boys to run around. What's more, the house is right outside the sequoia park entrance and close to a beautiful river park (the name escapes me...). The only downside is that only ATT gets cell phone reception and there is no Internet connectivity. However, sometimes it is good to be forced to be unplugged. I'd definitely stay here again!
Our group of five just returned from the long Thanksgiving weekend in Three Rivers, and can't wait to go back! The house was even better than depicted. We arrived to the dining table set and decorated for the day, including a bottle of wine and a note from the owner. We were in awe of the amazing view, and immediately headed outside to peruse the grounds. There are adorable little paths to, and around, large boulders that flank the river. Our favorite thing to do was to sip coffee on the lower deck and watch the river. There aren't really nearby properties in sight, so it felt so secluded and peaceful. The kitchen was stocked with all of the necessities, including some Pumpkin Spiced coffee for the season. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the showers were nice and hot, which was much needed after long days of hiking in the chilly mountains. Even the futon was very comfortable to sleep on, and our guest who slept there felt like he had a room to himself with a view of the stars at night. The location was also perfect, as it was a short drive to the park entrance, and convenient to the small markets in town, and a little wine tasting room. Derek, the property manager, was also very helpful and friendly. We were so sad to leave this wonderful home, and hope to visit again soon!
We spent 3 nights in Tom's home and found it extremely clean and in a great location for venturing into the National Parks. Tom was a pleasure to deal with; he sent a list of attractions to visit in the park as well as places to eat. If anything, the descriptions noted here undersell the property, Tom seems to have thought of everything, and the beds were comfortable. Even though the house is not secluded, it is very private and QUITE! We never saw nor heard anyone, and we could not hear cars on the road. Even though the river was very low, we could still hear the water through open windows in the evenings. The best part of each day was sitting on the deck with a glass of wine enjoying the sunset.
I must admit I was hesitate to rent through VRBO, but Tom was such a pleasure to deal with. My deposit refund was in my mailbox when I returned home.
We would recommend this home to any of our friends planning a trip to the area, and we again would like to thank Tom for our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights stay at this beautiful house with a fantastic view of Morro Rock; very short distance from entrance to Sequoia NP.
The house has very comfortable furnishings, spacious bedrooms and multilevel deck by the river ( which I loved it !!).
Owner is great to work with; provided us with very useful information about this area.
We enjoyed hiking in Giant Forest, Crescent Meadow, watching sunset from Morro Rock and visiting Crystal Caves.
We will definitely recommend this house to family and friends!
Our family had a great time. After hiking all day, the location of the house right on the river was a perfect retreat to cool off, relax and enjoy spectacular views. Very close to the Sequoia park entrance.
Three Rivers and Sequoia National Park offer visitors a wide variety of activities. Three Rivers hosts the annual JAZZAFAIR in April as well as Team Roping and Rodeo events. It is also the summer home of the Colburn Conservatory of L.A.. Presently, a concert series periodically offers performances by the school's classical musicians throughout the year. Local artists provide opportunities to see and purchase their work on the First Saturday Tour event. Kaweah River and Kaweah Lake offer water recreation activities of all types depending on the time of the year.
Of course, Sequoia National Park, the second oldest national park, provides the opportunity to see the world's largest trees and, along with adjoining Kings Canyon National Park, the awe inspiring vistas inherent in these two national parks. Guided nature walks and snow shoe treks are provided by the national park rangers. Hiking and cross country skiing in the park are other favorite activities.
Other Activities: Sequoia National Park, kayaking, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, horseshoes, shopping, boating
