COZY LITTLE APARTMENT, WITH WOOD FLOOR AND CELINGS, BY PIAZZA NAVONA

Centro Storico (Old Rome) Apartment Rental Photos and Description

1 Living,1 bedroom, kitchenette, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

This cozy little apartment is located in Via dei Coronari, only 150 meters away from Piazza Navona. The location is really amazing. You can't be more central than that! Via dei Coronari is an elegant pedestrian street of Rome characterized by many art galleries and antiquity stores. The apartment is on two levels. As you enter you will find a spacious living room, with a queen size sofa bed, a separate kitchenette and a small, complete bathroom. On the second level, you will find a very romantic bedroom with a queen size bed. Please note that the bedroom could be uncomfortable for tall people, as the height of the ceiling is just cm 180 to cm 220 (6 to 7 Ft). Also, the shower cubicle could not be very comfortable for very big people. The apartment has all the comforts: AC, Satellite Tv and Internet WiFi, Refrigerator, Microwave, Toaster, Hair dryer, Iron and iron board.

Suitability:
  • children welcome
  • wheelchair inaccessible
  • non smoking only
  • pets not allowed

A home away from home

I used this apartment for 1 full month (1 person with occasional visitors over the weekend). The place looks exactly like in the pictures, but it is more homey, with plenty of books in different languages on the shelves. And it is very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find everything I would need in the house - scissors, napkins, pens, glue etc :-)
The internet works perfectly well. Upstairs bedroom is actually quite spacey, but mind your head. This treacherous beam in the middle of the mezzanine is really bad for your head :-). I bumped into it twice the first day, and then I remembered to duck for the entire stay... The bathroom and the kitchen are tiny but very functional. No problems with hot water at all. Well, sometimes it became cold while I was having a shower, but it was enough to shut it off and open the tab again and the hot water was back in a few seconds.
The sofa bed is very comfortable for 2 people. There is no washing machine, but the owner (a very nice lady who speaks only Italian) would pass every week to take the used sheets and towels - and you have plenty of them stacked in the apartment.
The only real drawback for me is the lack of light. There is only one narrow window, which serves both, the main level and the mezzanine, and even during the daytime you need to put the light on. As the window gives onto a tiny alley, and the apartment is on the first floor, you cannot even see the sky from there or tell the weather outside. Well, this is typical about apartments in old Rome and probably very handy in summer, when Rome is baking in merciless sun, so I still give the place 5 stars.
The best thing - the location is absolutely the best. The street is not only beautiful and handy (everything is close, including a supermarket, plenty of buses, main tourist attractions, great restaurants and bars, taxi stand and the river with its banks perfect for running), but also it is one of the most famous, historic streets in Old Rome. Everybody knows it and knows where it is. Try the ice cream in famous Gelateria del Teatro down the street, An evening drink in Bar del Fico or get something to eat in Mimi & Coco or Cantina & Cucina - all of them 2-5 minutes walk from the house.
Enjoy Rome!

Great Place Right Near Piazza Navona

Right from the time I found the place and contacted Luca he was excellent. Rosie was right on time to meet us to let us in. She even helped carried our bags upstairs. (One story up). She showed us everything about the apartment and even helped us get our bearings.

The location was EXCELLENT! The street had amazing ambience. Everything we needed was on that one street. But it was not a main road so there was no traffic and no noise. You truly felt like you were in old world Rome. We arrived a little early from the airport and spent half hour in the cafe in front of the apt bldg drinking coffee. Street has some good shopping places, a grocery store( where we bought breakfast items), restaurants, a place where they made hand made pasta and gnocchi and a great gelato place( Del Teatro - best in rome).
You are right around the corner from Piazza Navona and no more than a 20 minute walk to the Vatican, Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps. We even had kids with us and they didn't complain at all about the walking.

Like in other reviews this place is not for tall people. If you are taller than 5'10".bring an ice pack. Everything about this place is small ( efficient). Although wood floors did creak a lot. The steps upstairs were steep. Beds were very comfortable. Even the hideaway. Everything you need is provided: dishes, silverware, pots and pans, refrigerator, microwave, stove, glasses and mugs, etc. all linens, towels, blankets and comforters, and pillows. The one thing we never found was the wine bottle opener. The heater worked great. One complaint is that the shower was very small. If you drop something you cannot pick it up. Our biggest problem was with the water heater. The hot water ran out really quick. The internet connection was fast. Only Italian language tv though.

Overall, I would definitely stay here again when we come back. This would be a great place for a romantic anniversary getaway. We have already recommended this place to friends and family.

Great Location

We arrived in Rome and were so excited to see the apartment. It was exactly as described and pictured. It was clean, nicely decorated, and felt very comfortable. It's location was amazing - on a beautiful little street very close to the Piazza Navona. We just loved the location. It was so close to everything, and yet you had access to restaurants and shops that were not just focused or priced for turists.

The owner ensured we were met at the door when we arrived and had everything we needed in the appartment. We arranged Airport transportation with the owner and it was great. We arrived, someone was waiting for us when we got off the plane and they took us right to the door of the apartment - a great way to start the trip.

I would recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Me and my daughter stayed in this cozy apartment for one week.As mentioned in the other reviews, yes, it's small BUT it has everything you'll need ...even 2 umbrellas!!!!.
Luca and his team made our trip very enjoyable and comfortable. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Rosie who let us into the building. The apt. is situated in a quite street yet it's in a walking distance from restaurants, attractions, etc. We walked to the Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiore and many more attractions.
Via dei Coronari and the other adjacent streets are the typical italian streets: old stone streets..beautiful!
The apt. is just like in the pictures....!!!!.We want to come back next year!!!!!
Thanks Luca!!!!

Great location steps from Piazza Navona

Our family of four loved this apartment on Via dei Coronari. The quiet street is an attraction by itself. The central location is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Campo di Flori, and the Pantheon. The apartment is a little dark and has low ceilings but was clean and secure. The location made the trip for us.
