House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our home features 3 bedrooms and 2 baths (one en suite), in 1150 sq ft all on one level. A new home in 2006, It's been fully renovated and beautifully furnished in 2011 to welcome our guests. We're nestled in the Queen Creek/San Tan Valley area south of Phoenix, close to golfing at Johnson Ranch, and to local bike trails and hiking in the San Tan Mountain Regional Park.

With sleeping space for 6, an open plan living/dining room, and a breakfast bar separating kitchen and dining area, the house is designed for comfortable socializing and visiting. We offer a large-screen TV and Blueray in the living room, an iPod dock with home theatre sound, as well as cable, wireless internet and phone. We've selected a small collection of favourite movies and books to relax with.

The master bedroom has a queen bed, en suite bath, and plenty of closet space, along with a large-screen TV. The second bedroom has a queen bed and again, loads of closet space. The third bedroom features two twin beds. All three rooms have ceiling fans and blackout curtains.

Our covered patio sits in a private and secluded yard, ideal for those warm (and cool) evenings. We always love looking up into the Arizona night sky and enjoying the quiet.

About Dee and David

Dee and David are a professional couple from Calgary, Alberta, who don't like winter. At all. And that creates some challenges. We have a fabulous daughter who loves horses, and we enjoy riding with her in spectacular settings. We love taking the opportunity to get away together while being conscious of budget, and we've had such good experiences travelling to vacation rentals that we wanted to share our experience and become owners.

Why Dee and David chose San Tan Valley

Queen Creek and San Tan Valley have all the benefits of winter warmth and sunshine, while being in a semi-rural area with recreational activities nearby. We literally have the desert on one side, surprisingly green farmland on the other, and the San Tan Mountain regional park above us. We're minutes from the Johnson Ranch golf area, the new Queen Creek YMCA at Copper Basin, and fresh produce from Schnepf Farms and the Queen Creek Olive Mill. We're far enough from Phoenix to appreciate the quiet, but near enough to enjoy the museums, sports and cultural events, and varied shopping.

We love the unique and changing desert, the open skies, and that desert moon.

What makes this house unique

Being minutes away from golf, hiking, biking, two community pools (one seasonal, the other at the Copper Basin Y with its full fitness facility and daily classes) is great.

We enjoy spectacular sunsets with the San Tan Mountains framing the sky, and at other times watching the lightning play around the whole East Valley.

Queen Creek/San Tan Valley is a great home base for easy day trips to Tucson and its mountain parks, to the nearby Casa Grande ruins in Coolidge, and to the many other nearby golfing opportunities. Sedona (just stunning) and the Grand Canyon are convenient short trips for two days or more.

Our overall stay was perfect. We (two couples) found the house to be very clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We spent four days at a Country Festival during our stay and it was nice to come home to a hot shower and very comfortable bed. The house is conveniently located near the grocery store, gas station and Walmart (to pick up those things we forgot to pack). The owners also provided a Frys club card to help us reduce our spending at the grocery store and much more. Each morning we were up to go for a nice run in the area before we began our day. Overall a very comfortable and nice stay. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area and highly recommend you do the same. Thanks to Dee (owner) for her quick response to emails, answering of my questions regarding the area and giving us the opportunity to stay her in her home.

Dee and Dave were wonderful to work with and made all transactions easy. The pictures of the home were very accurate and the home was well maintained, clean, and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property for someone visiting the San Tan Valley area! Dee gave us advice on nearby attractions, activities, and restaurants which were very helpful.

Enjoyed our stay last year so we came back again. Very comfortable, well equipped and conveniently located. Took day trips to Pima Air Museum and Boneyard, Saguaro National Park, Eloy Skydiving, Casa Grande ruins, and discovered the Horseshoe Equestrian Park practically around the corner with free admission for many of their events. San Tan Regional park is also very close with many great hiking trails. Owners are great to do business with.

We really enjoyed this unit. We had plenty of room in the living areas for everyone to spread out. We were close to one of the golf courses, Johnson Ranch, that ended up being a favourite to go back to in the evenings for a bite and/or another quick 9 after 18 on some of the other amazing courses Phoenix offers. We were very comfortable in the home at the end of the day and the beds in the two main bedrooms offered exceptional comfort. We loved the BBQ and the covered parking. Furnished great, modern and very, very comfortable. We did pick out a couple of the movies offered to watch and two of the crew went for hour long morning walks to the mountains to stretch out and warm up for the day. They were greeted with spectacular views. In addition, the pool was so refreshing, welcome and needed.

This house is very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed having a private patio/courtyard. We liked the location; out of the heavy traffic and smog but convenient to stores, restaurants, and activities. You can hike through the desert right from the backyard. Easy access to major roads for day trips. Two of our favorites were the Biosphere and Roosevelt Lake/Dam/Cliff dwellings.
