Relaxing, Well Designed, Clean Home

Our family carved out a few days in the middle of a hot summer to head up to Door Country and enjoy the outdoors, especially the water. The home we chose was a renovated summer home on an inlet with access to Green Bay (Lake Michigan). We didn't have a boat, so we couldn't take advantage of that, but we did have fun tossing in a few fishing lines and catching some catfish at night. The inside design had vaulted ceilings, stylish kitchen, ceiling fan, living area with flatscreen TV. The bedrooms were a little sparse - beds only upstairs - but we spent most of the time in the kitchen anyway. It was all very clean and tidy. There is no laundry or internet, and cell service was very spotty, so you may need to make arrangements for that. The location is south of Sturgeon Bay, to the extent it was very rural. Sturgeon Bay downtown / restaurants are about 15 minutes away. There was a Citgo / convenience store about 5 minutes away that has WiFi (even a tiny table or 2 near coffee to work a bit) and about anything you'll need from pizza to live bait, to wine.
We used the grill to make burgers one night, fished from the pier, took a bike ride through nearby Potowatomee State Park, drove up to Fish Creek for a Fish Boil (40 minutes), took the Fireboat ride in Sturgeon Bay, and went swimming off a public beach. Sturgeon Bay has a number of places to eat and enough activities to keep everyone happy for a week, especially since northern Door County is so close.
The home owners, Troy and Gail, were kind enough to meet us in person upon arrival and make recommendations and give us some local tips.
