I have always enjoyed turn of the century architecture and seeing wonderful structures renovated and brought back to their original grandeur.
You will be within walking distance of wonderful shops, fine restaurants, downtown St. Paul, fitness center, coffee shops, bookstores. Strolling down beautiful Summit Avenue (blocks of lovely Victorian homes) is a lovely way to end the day.
Lois your house is simply divine. From the location to the decor. I love that Lois pays attention to the special little details in decorating and ...the books!! I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of the same books I have read myself. It is so cozy and quaint. I had a nice brunch for my girlfriends, Went to a few restaurants around the corner, Ninas cafe and the bookstore. And The French Hen for breakfast. The ambiance was perfect. This may be my new St. Paul home when I am in town. I am planning on renting this home for a getaway gift for my parents for a surprise. Short walk to W.A. Frost for dinner. The main bedroom's bed was like sleeping in a cloud! The was tastefully decorated for Christmas (even on the outside!) My guests fell in love with it as well. Thank you so much...will hopefully be returning soon!
Thanks for a great 2nd stay Lois. Once again you made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. Could do without the snow, but that seems to happen when I come to visit. However being close to Nina's coffee and nice dining not to mention all the sights of Mpls/St Paul is definitely an added bonus. We'll be back!
My husband and I arrived a few days before a couple other family members came to enjoy the weekend in this beautiful part of St Paul with us. The condo was very pleasant to stay in clean,comfortable bed, the ability to cook some meals and enjoy a lovely back deck and yard we relaxed part of the time and did many nearby attractions. We loved walking the neighborhood and found many treasures "Moscow on the Hill" was delicious and had the best service, "Nina's " had the best mocha I've ever enjoyed.
The new "green line train" was a few blocks away and it was very convenient to go into Minneapolis to the Vikings game. The hockey stadium is a few blocks away from the condo and we walked there for the game. The St Paul Cathedral is magnificent and anytime we were in St Paul and had to find our way back to the condo we just looked up and headed in that direction. The Minneapolis Orchestra was a highlight of our trip and bike riding the Cannon Trail was rewarded with lunch at the Wistera Tea Room in the Pottery Factory in the town of Red Wing.
So many things to do and we are already thinking of when we can return.
We stayed for a week at this delightful condo and it was exactly as pictured. Near lots of great restaurants and Nina's coffee shop is around the corner. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it. The only issue parking but we have a large SUV. And the neighbors upstairs can be heard (older home) and she was less than friendly. Lois was a gracious host and even let us us the laundry downstairs. Great place to stay!
