Château du Fun

  • 5 of 5
Spent a long Easter weekend here with some friends (total of 2 couples) and was just exceptionally pleased with the accommodations, the location, and the graciousness of the hosts. We took the trolley's everywhere we needed to go (French Quarter, Garden District, Cemeteries, City Park). The river walk on the levee is two block from the house for walking or riding and it is also within walking distance of Oak St were the natives go to "laissez les bons temps rouler."
Check out Oak St. for the following; Maple Leaf Bar, Squeal BBQ, Z'Ots Coffee House, and Jacques-Imo's Cafe.
Don't pass up the mudbugs & ice cold beer at Cooter Brown's at the end of the St Charles Streetcar line, but do it coming home from the Quarter or you may decide to just chill there all day.
Can't say enough about what a great place this is to stay for a vacation in Na'lenz. We will be going back, overpriced hotels are a thing of the past for me.

Great place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5
My husband, myself and my in-laws spent the weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage. The cottage was in a nice quiet location, but close to all of the area attractions. We also discovered that you could catch the trolley not too far from the house which made getting into the French Quarter area a lot less of a hassle! Michele was a fantastic host! We really appreciated the fresh eggs, tomatoes and greens she left us! We will definitely consider staying here on future trips to NOLA!

Mardi Gras Week

  • 5 of 5
We had a great time at this house during our return to NOLA for Mardi Gras! The owners were very accommodating from the beginning, and even let our Children and their Grandmother ride their horses, visit the chickens, and view their garden. They also had a basket of home grown salad greens and some freshly laid eggs waiting for us on check in. The neighbors were quiet/peaceful and we felt a bit silly for having doubted this, based on an initial scouting trip prior to occupying the house. Actually, we were the loud ones, coming back from the parades late at night with young kids. There are train-tracks nearby and we let our kids place coins on the rails for the trains to "smoosh". The owners' hospitality definitely made up for the commute to the parades. We are longtime NOLA residents (currently living elsewhere) and would definitely be back. Thanks for the great visit M&M!

Great getaway in NOLA!

  • 5 of 5
Our family loved visiting the Big Easy and staying in this comfortable, delightful home. We had everything we needed...plenty of linens, towels, and kitchen necessities. We had our own car and loved being able to visit all parts of NOLA from this location. The owner is exceptional! She was most helpful in suggesting excursions and events. She is truly a wonderful part of this rental. We highly recommend this location for you and your family.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5
This charming cottage has all the comforts of home - enough pots, pans and dishes; plenty of linens; washer/dryer; even cards, dice and dominos! We enjoyed our time here and were impressed that there was even enough hot water for all six of us to take showers. There is a cute outdoor space behind the fence that we weren't able to enjoy due to the rainy weather - but were excited about when we saw it.

Oak street with shops and restaurants is in walking distance as well as the streetcar - just don't try to take it into the FQ during a parade!

The owner was very courteous and welcoming - with a bowl of fruit on the table when we arrived. And the property came with its own cat. Highly recommended!
