Stunning, modern, Travis Heights home with elements of historic detail. Situated on a lovely, secluded, cul du sac just blocks of Congress Avenue. Home is truly an urban oasis. Our 10, 000 square foot lot has hundred year old live oaks which create a lush canopy. The main house backs up to a creek and is nestled at the base of a bamboo grove. Very quiet and private yet close to all downtown attractions.

The first house on the property is an adobe casita with a full modern bathroom and kitchenette. Between the casita and the main house is an outdoor living room. The main house has a large living room, dining room, two kitchens and a large porch room creating multiple additional entertainment spaces. Back patio has charming outdoor dining area with grill and a bamboo grove that backs up to a creek. The downstairs has a quiet and private master suite with king size temperpedic bed and a modern, elegant, bathroom. The upstairs is a two bedroom, one bath, family suite.

Our house is situated within walking distance of all the restaurants, clubs, galleries, stores, and vintage shops in the Soco district on Congress Avenue. We are also a short five minute drive to all the downtown attractions. ACL, downtown museums, hike and bike trail, Barton Springs, nights clubs on 6th Street, the Paramount Theatre, SXSX venues, downtown hotels such as the W and the Four Seasons, as well as multiple music venues.

We are situated in one of the older historic downtown neighborhoods, Travis Heights. We adjoin Stacy Park which includes a tennis court, two pools and miles of walking running trails. We are also walking distance to the Town Lake hike and bike trail which goes to Barton Springs the ultimate urban swimming oasis, named one of the top ten natural swimming places in the world. Travis Heights is also the center of Soco where many charming shops, galleries, antique stores and restaurants are located. Close to two dog parks. Our location is also a short five minute drive to all the downtown museums, hotels and ACL, SXSW venues, and 6th Street as well as all the best live music venues (ACL at the w, La Zona Rosa, Antones, Paramount theatre, Frank Erwin Center. Walking distance to ACL live and the Continental Club on South Congress.)

Better than the pictures!

We had a group of 9 guys stay here for the NCAA Tournament. The house and property were far better than the pictures showed. The house is spacious with plenty of room to spread out, even with some pretty large fellas in our group. The screened porch and outside area was incredible, and we wish we could have used it more at night but it was a little cold during our stay. The location is absolutely perfect. You wouldn't want to be anywhere else in Austin. A quick 10 minute walk and you're right in the heart of SOCO. The owner BF was very helpful, and even left us some adult beverages to start our weekend off properly. I would highly recommend this house to anyone staying in Austin. You won't be disappointed. As far as recommendations for food, drink, etc. you can't really go wrong anywhere in the area as long as you stay away from chains, which there aren't that many of thankfully. Bacon Restaurant was great (best breakfast I've ever eaten), Doc's right at the corner on Congress was a good place to watch games (good wings), BD Riley's on 6th Street was a nice Irish Pub (get the Irish Coffee with the house made Baileys whipped cream), Maria's Taco Express and Gordough's (check out the website) on Lamar, and make sure to check out all the food trucks. It's also worth the 30 minute drive to the Salt Lick BBQ. It wasn't the best BBQ I've ever had, but it was pretty darn good; and at $19.95 for all you can eat and BYOB, you can't beat it. Bring a cooler, listen to live music, and eat some good BBQ.

Perfect for Our Party!

We had a girl's weekend last month and I can't praise our hosts enough! BF and Lila were friendly, helpful, and really cared that we had a pleasant stay at their home.

Aside from the lovely hosts, the houses are incredible and unique. There is a small house in front that faces the street where they have sleeping for 4 (one queen and two twins), a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a window unit for A/C. Since we were a party of all 30-something women, we just had four people stay in this front house, but it would be ideal if you were looking for a separate house for a couple or family away from the back house.

The outdoor space between the small house and the larger house was an amazing place to hang out and talk. The big house in the back of the property is dreamy. There is a master bedroom downstairs with a king sized bed made of cloud... or maybe Tempur-Pedic :) There are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs - a strange layout, but very functional. (You have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom.) Sleeps 5 upstairs! Great for kids or those who don't need too much privacy.

The kitchen was an amazing place to make big meals. It is HUGE and there are three sinks, plenty of cookware, and lots of counter space. Not to mention, there is a kitchenette in the front house so you have even more fridge space if needed. My favorite part of the house has to be the screened back porch with beautiful cedar wood paneling. When the temperature is right, it would be great to sleep out there. It has a sound system and there is a patio and grilling space (uncovered) behind the screened porch.

Comfortable house Great location

We had a party of ten in town for a wedding and this place was exactly what we needed, roomy, comfortable and in an excellent location. We spent a lot of time around the big dining room table and outside in the outdoor entertainment area catching up with our lives. The proximity to South Congress shopping was an added bonus. We could not have been able to spend as much time together as a group had we stayed in a hotel which would have cost us more anyway.

The owners were very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed, even coming up with an extra twin bed to help with the sleeping arrangements.

Highly recommended.

Great house in a great location

I had to find a house for 10 guys and this place was perfect. I looked all over downtown, soco, east 6th, and this was by far the best place I found. It was not only the best place from a cost perspective but it also was extremely spacious and fit 10 guys very comfortably.

The location was great. It was located in south congress and a short cab ride away from downtown. It was also close to home slice which was very convenient for late night food.

The house was huge. There was a ton of room for all of us. It also had a really cool outdoor lounge area that everybody could hang out in. There were more than enough beds for 10 guys and it was very comfortable. There was also a nice living room to hang out in and huge open kitchen.

Lastly, the owners were great. They were very helpful and welcoming. If we needed anything they were willing to help out.

I dont think you will find a better weekend rental for a big group in this location. On top of all of that the price was better than anything else I saw around town.

If I ever have a big group, I will definitely stay there again and all of my friends would agree as well.
