Marisa- Manager purchased this cabin in 2006
My husband and I live a hectic lifestyle, but have always enjoyed a quiet retreat by the water as a sanctuary from the business of everyday life. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase this beautiful property in 2006 and have been stealing time away whenever possible since! We are thrilled to be able to offer this retreat to family, friends, church members and guests so that they can enjoy the privacy and tranquility of our property while a short walk/drive away from all the excitement of Raystown Lake!
I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at the cabin on Trout Lane. It was spacious and clean and we were all very impressed. Some of us really missed our cell phone and 3G connections, but the atmosphere was worth the sacrifice! We will definitely be back around the same time next year.
Thank you very much!
Stayed in this wonderful cabin for a long weekend and can't say enough about it. It's spacious, clean, has a spectacular view, plenty of room outside, and is in the perfect location for any activities in the area. I highly recommend staying here!!!
This cabin was absolutely perfect and definitely has more than enough room to sleep a large family! They definitely maximize the use of space and the decorating was charming. The furniture is all very comfortable and there was no complaints about the beds. There is a concrete charcoal grill similar to those that are found at state parks near the fire pit and also a small portable charcoal grill on the upper deck. Both had fairly small grill surfaces but we were able to accommodate that. The yard was great for our kids and boxer to run and play. We had a few visits from a beautiful black bear that came through the woods behind the garage but he left fairly easily, the kids named him Boo Boo Bear! The beach is no more than 4 or 5 minutes away and is small and secluded but still got a few waves from boats going by and had a great playground as well. We also visited the waterpark that was about a minute further than the beach. About six miles away is a general store with pizza & putt-putt and a small ice cream shop that also has hot foods as well. The only thing we would have changed was to have more lights outside specifically on the steps as there was not much light that hit them after dark and lights on the garage would have been great as well. We only stayed the weekend this year but have already asked to reserve for a week next year and we cant wait to return to our happy place in the mountains!!
My family and i stayed for the first week in july,The house and property were great. The pictures in the ad showed the house exactly as we found it.It's on top of a hill and very quiet and private. The house has central air to make those july days nice and cool. The property is only 2 miles from the boat launch, and made it very easy to put the boat in each day.About 7 miles to the grocery and 6 miles to gas station/deli.We had a GREAT time.Camp fires at night and water skiing and swimming during the day.We all want to thank the owners VERY VERY MUCH!!!!
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the retreat for a long weekend at the end of September. We were thoroughly impressed by the location of the property and all of the amenities that the retreat had to offer. We found the interior of the retreat to be cozy, inviting, and comfortable. We spent the days exploring the beauty that surrounds the lake and the evenings relaxing by the fire. Our only complaint is that our time at the retreat went by so fast! We are already looking at dates to book the retreat next Fall. We highly recommend this property to anyone that is looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature!!
This is a cabin. It is in a great spot, barring the neighbors playing their radio. We saw a bear in the yard in the evening one night. A couple tips that would have my stay better. There is no gas grill. Bring charcoal. Bring ALL linens I including a tea towel. Bring 2 tablecloths , one for in the house because the table's varnish is sticky and 1 for the outside picnic table. Bring chairs for outside deck!!! There is one broken glider that seats 2. There is no dishwasher. I felt like I had to rewash/boil everything because there have been dozens of renters. Do not come if you have allergies. There are at least a dozen artificial flower arrangements covered in dust and dirt. The beds were comfortable. 2 rooms downstairs, one without a window. Basically 1 usable bathroom. Washer and dryer available. There is a small ac unit in the living room that cooled things off but was super noisy and blew on you.
I would have liked this property better if I would have come prepared or could have made a more informed decision about renting this place. With some small upgrades, repairs and cleaning, this place would have been awesome.
We all had a GREAT time. The retreat was BEAUTIFUL. A home away from home but only better no cell phones, no interenet & no kids. What more could u ask for. Maybe snow. We would love to come back & maybe stay longer. The time went by so fast. The kitchen had everything we needed & there was always enough hot water for showers & there was 10 of us. I would recommend the retreat to anyone. Very clean & no signs of any critters. Thats a BIG plus. I recieved my security deposit with in a week after we got home. Another BIG plus. This was our first time there and it was a GREAT first impression.
Thank you so much for allowing us to rent the Retreat,
