Perfect -- Wish It Had Been Summer!

When celebrating our September anniversary, the weather can be either lovely and warm, or a chilly preview of fall. We're happy to report that the only thing missing from our wonderful weekend getaway at Robinson Pond was the warm, summer-like September weather that we had hoped for. Then we could have enjoyed the fabulous deck of this cottage even more -- a lovely space that overlooks the serene, quiet and restful lake.
Inside the cottage, we enjoyed views of the lake from an open room that included another dining table, a cozy futon, a comfy leather sofa and chair, great sound system and TV -- you could even view the lake while preparing food in the kitchen. And what a kitchen -- all the cookware you could want in a gorgeous, spacious layout. Everything in the cottage was as clean and well-appointed as could be.
The queen bedroom was beautifully decorated in soothing, neutral shades. French doors open up to the deck, which would be ideal in summertime. The bed itself was so cozy, you could sleep the weekend away!
The cottage comes equipped with 2 kayaks, a paddle boat and a motorboat -- adding a lot of value to the rental, and lots of fun on the lake.
We biked the nearby Harlem Valley Rail trail -- the span we cycled was 20 miles round-trip (flat and easy for cyclists looking for a beautiful ride); explored the many shops of Great Barrington, MA; discovered a brewpub with a great craft beers in Philmont, NY; and had a wonderful anniversary dinner at the nearby No. 9 Restaurant in Millerton, NY. We've always enjoyed the Hudson Valley, and we would definitely return to this delightful cottage on Robinson Pond. It was a pleasure dealing with Katherine, the homeowner -- she was so helpful and responsive every step of the way. We highly recommend this rental.
