Desert Skies is a mid-century gem in a spectacular location. The complex was built in the 1950's and has a fabulous Hollywood feel. With only 38 units, it is a quiet place. In the middle of the complex is a large courtyard with two swimming pools (one of which is heated), a hot tub, and barbecue grill, with lush and colorful desert landscaping. As far as Palm Springs, Desert Skies has one of the best locations--it's in wind-protected South Palm Springs, with hiking and gorgeous homes surrounding it, and very close to downtown.

This second floor, end unit condo was totally renovated in 2011 with style and quality. It offers all of the amenities you would expect--fully-stocked kitchen, fresh linens, two new TVs, and great new furniture including a fabulous bed. Everything, from the artwork to the couch, was selected for its quality but also for the style--great care was put into furnishing this condo with the best mid-century style.

Transport yourself back into the glamorous 50's at this amazing desert retreat.

About The Owner

We live in Portland, Oregon, and have been visiting Palm Springs for years. Jacob is a contractor specializing in whole-house renovations, and Tim is a real estate agent. We enjoy riding our bikes, hiking, running, and eating out at all kinds of restaurants.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2011
Why The Owner chose Palm Springs

After visiting Palm Springs multiple times, we determined that Desert Skies was our ultimate future vacation home. It has the best location--in a great neighborhood with amazing homes and good hiking, and close to downtown. We also love the architecture and style of the building. The landscaping is outstanding--a collection of great desert plants in a manicured design.

What makes this condo unique

Our favorite things to do include:

- Going for hikes in the mountains

- Walking around the neighborhood looking at cool homes

- Swimming in the pool and lounging in the hot tub

- Walking to El Mirasol, our favorite Mexican restaurant

- RELAXING--that's what Palm Springs is all about!

Mid Century History and Hospitality in the Desert

I spent 2 weeks here in April and would definitely rent this unit again.
The location is in one of the most beautiful and desirable neighborhoods in all of Palm Springs. It was very close to many local activities such as the Ace Hotel and Indian Canyons.
I had a friend visit for a few days and she enjoyed a walk around the Mesa every morning, and the pool in the afternoons. The complex is very well kept and manicured, and has a wonderful mid-century vibe.
The furnishings inside the condo were comfortable and stylish, and the walk-in closet was a definite plus. We also loved the big windows and the great views. Nice stereo too!Compared to a hotel, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet here.

The owners were very pleasant, helpful and accommodating throughout the rental process.
Can’t wait to visit again - Thanks!

First and foremost was the gorgeous weather! It was absolutely perfect for golf and walks through the neighborhood and to town. We love looking at the beautiful landscaping and architecture--so different from Oregon.

Your condo was the perfect size for us--very comfortable and quiet. The pool and hot tub was enjoyed nearly every day.

Since we love to golf we enjoyed several courses, but our favorite was Tahquitz Resort, which is a great value since it included breakfast, lunch, and 2 drinks.

Sammy G's Italian and Las Casuelas Terraza's were favorites.

Thanks for our great time in the desert.

A quiet location

Our 1 bedroom condo was clean and adequately stocked with the essentials. It is located in a quiet section of Palm Springs. Photos of the property were accurate in their depiction. There were a couple of good restaurants within walking distance. There was a local Mexican restaurant called El Mirasol that served great food. The condo was a little too far out for us to walk to the downtown area, so we drove a lot. It was nice to have a designated parking spot. The b-b-q on the property is a good one. The pools and hot tub were well maintained. Overall experience - good.
