Perfect place to "Get Away from it All"

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a vacation spot to escape the daily hustle and bustle, this place is perfect! This was our second summer vacation to Randy's secluded paradise and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The backyard pier overlooking the cove is an ideal spot to spend the day crabbing and basking in the beauty of nature. Quiet and secluded, it offers unending opportunities to spend quality time with family without the distractions of close neighbors or crowded beaches. Randy, as always, is a gracious host and goes above and beyond to make your vacation an enjoyable one.

Owner's Response: Dear Friend, Thank you so much for your review. As you can tell by being a repeat customer, things just keep getting better. Wait to you see what I have in store for next season, it will with out a doubt keep you coming back. Crabbing was real good in September and October of this year and hope you had your share when you and the Family were down. Look forward to having you back for a Third Year with a great rate for repeat customers. Sincerely, Rockin Rando

LAID-BACK FAMILY FUN

  • 5 of 5

Randy went out of his way to ensure that my family and I had an enjoyable stay at his home. The downstairs is cozy and relaxed. The screened-in porch is perfect. The upstairs is clean, comfortable and peaceful with the master bedroom facing away from the rising sun but toward the beautiful inlet. Far away from everything, this house is the perfect place to unplug, reconnect and relax.

Peace and Quiet on the Eastern Shore

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 days at Randy's Get-Away in the woods on the water, and it was just what the Dr. ordered. Peace and quiet but a great time. My Brother and I really needed some R and R and we received it in large doses here. We were out on the water every day catching crabs, fishing and enjoying all that this property has to offer. My brother commented that he felt like he had been there before and felt right at home - the comfort level was high! Enjoyed sitting on the screen porch, listening to the breezes, the birds, the water. We ventured out to a few of the local places - not to be missed is the Great Machipongo Clam Shack - what a great place to eat! Unpretentious and great food. Also headed over to the Island House in Wachapreague - also very good. Would recommend this to anyone I know who needs a few days off the grid. We really enjoyed ourselves - Thanks Randy!

Owner's Response: Tammy thanks for the review. I am glad to see that the crabs are running and mother nature is getting back in full swing. The osprey's are having their babies now and make the only noise you hear. Look forward to having yuu down again soon. Randy

Really awesome !!

  • 5 of 5

If your looking for a fine modern upscale resort type getaway, this isn't it.

What you will find is a comfy, relaxed feeling you won't find at other rental property's. As if it was your own place away from home. The kinda place you always wanted to have for yourself and friends to go and kick back and just enjoy. The other reviews tell the truth about the place. I love not having to do anything, and all day to do it. I really hated having to leave. See you soon Randy! Jim & Mary

Quiet, peaceful and secluded

  • 5 of 5

What can you say about the most quiet and peaceful place on the Eastern Shore. My wife and I love coming here with our Lab. We got to see the Wallops Island Rocket launch the first night. An incredible sight, we saw all three stages! The upper deck is great for stargazing. The lower deck is fantastic for eating and lounging, I spent several afternoons sitting on the couch and watching the clouds go by and the tide go in and out and listening to the wind blow through the trees. On the lower deck Christmas lights and candles make a romantic setting in the evenings. What a great get away!!! We will be back year after year. By the way our Lab was depressed for two weeks after our stay, he loved the freedom.

Quiet & relaxing

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed staying at your house in Pungoteague as it was very quite, relaxing and had the use of the dock and water. We used the canoe & kayak a lot and brought tubes also. Crabbing was good with the benefit of very fresh dinners we ate on the new back porch. The A/C was a huge benefit because it was very very hot for a few days. Our dog liked the AC but the walks down the driveway were interesting to him in the evening. Time spent on your new back porch was a pleasure with the scenery and wildlife around. We spent time on the breezy upper deck looking at the million stars in the evening and the view in the morning with coffee. It was truly a peaceful interlude in our lives.

SECLUDED BEACH AT MOUTH OF CHESAPEAKE BAY (REMOTE)
Car: necessary

This home is situated on a large rural estate dating back to 1817. The location is remote and extremely quite and off the Beaten Path.. Driving down the 1/4 mile private driveway with lush wooded acreage on both sides will bring you out to the large open fields where the deer and turkey flourish. You might spot 'Eddie' the American Bald Eagle taking 'Oscar' the Osprey's dinner in mid air. Someone should turn him in for theft.

Turning into the grass driveway you will realize that you just found your Hidden Paradise. With water on all 3 sides of your private estate and minutes to the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay by boat you can't go wrong. Launch your own craft whether it be a John boat, Jet Ski or 18 foot Run About right from your own private dock. High Tide bring's 3-5 feet into the channel. Free use of the canoe and kayaks while staying on property. Alot of landlords offer promises of Paradise but I AM THE REAL DEAL.

Minutes from Wachapreague 'Flounder Capital of the World'.

Other Activities: This home is located in the middle of the Virginia Eastern Shore. Situated in the middle of the Shore you have access to Wallops Island to watch NASA Space launch's or just watch from the property. Visit the World Famous Chincoteague Island and see the 'Wild Ponies' on Assateague Island swim in open water on their annual roundup. You are directly across from Wachapreague 'Little City on the Sea' which hold's the reputation as being the Flounder Fishing Capital of the World. You have quite a few Eastern Shore small towns that offer their own special ammenities from Wine Making (Bloxum) to Music Festivals (Onancock). If you get the hankering for civilization your only 90 minutes to O.C. MD or 70 minutes to Virginia Beach VA. The World's Longest Bridge is only minutes away, Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel 'must see'. On the way down US RT 13 stop in a 'Big's Restaurant' outside of Keller for your 'Best Dinner Ever'. Tell Kelly and Rick to 'Hook you Up'

with some vittle's.

Golf: There is a public course located in Captain's Cove which is next to Chincoteague Island. Let the little lady off to venture out to see all the small seaside specialty shops or visit N.A.S.A. Flight Facility while you hit a couple of golf balls and partake in a 'cold daddy' or two.

If you like Theme Parks keep in mind that south on Rt 13 will take you over the Bridge Tunnel into Norfolk where you can head to Williamsburg for a Day Trip.

Ski: If you like skiing you have your own private waterway to do whatever you want. You want to go fast, do it. You want to parasail, do it. You want to Jet Ski and Water Ski at the same time, do it. No holes barred and when I say private I mean PRIVATE, seeing is believing. Wait till you ski up to your own private deserted beach overlooking the Entrance to the Bay. Wow is all I can say.
