Photos and Description of the Estes Park vacation house rental
House, 5 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 14-15)

We respond to all inquiries and calls promptly. Our calendar is always fully updated.

The Davis Hill Historic House, with its breathtaking view of the Continental Divide, began as an inn around the turn of the last century in a smaller structure. It was then known as Rest-a-Lott after the owners, the Lotts, from Illinois. The present stone and stucco structure was built in 1923. We operated the house as a B&B for the first 4 summers but after numerous requests from B&B guests to rent the entire house for their summer vacations and reunions we converted it to a weekly rental starting in the summer of 2011.

The house has 6 bedrooms which includes a kids/teen loft and 2 full baths and one half bath. There is a full kitchen equipped with everything you need to whip up great meals. There is also a dishwasher and microwave. There is a large living room with comfortable furniture surrounding an incredible moss stone fireplace.

There is a large living room with comfortable furniture surrounding an incredible moss stone fireplace. You can dine inside at the large dining table (original hickory style) or al fresco on the wonderful porch overlooking the Continental Divide.

The back wing of the house has 3 bedrooms and one bath. The bedrooms include one with a king bed, one with 2 twins and one with a double and a twin. The bathroom has a claw foot tub and separate shower. The other main floor wing has a bedroom with queen bed and bedroom with a twin bed (''the nook''). These bedrooms are separated by a bathroom with claw foot tub (tub has shower attachment). The nook has a private exit out to the front porch. The comfortable main floor period bedrooms all have antique furniture and wonderful beds.

Upstairs is a large loft that is very popular with kids and teens. There are 2 double beds and a twin futon and a half bath. There is also a full size couch for lounging.

Guests often have a hard time pulling themselves away from the view from the porch to go explore Rocky Mountain National Park, the Stanley Hotel, the YMCA of the Rockies and beautiful downtown Estes Park with the wonderful river walk. There is a fire pit available out back for roasting hot dogs and making s'mores.

This home has a maximum occupancy of 15. Do you need more room? Ask for information about renting our adjoining cottage in addition to the house (at a discount). Click on ''Click Here to see All My Rental Listings'' below to see the cottage

Wonderful vacation home!

We absolutely loved our stay at Davis Hill. The property is wonderful – rustic and authentic, but modern and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for meal preparation. The house has plenty of bedrooms for our large family, and the beds were all very comfy. We especially loved sitting on the huge front porch, watching the wildlife with mountains in the background. It is a perfect place to chat while enjoying coffee or meals. The kids in our group loved playing all around the property, and had plenty of places to sleep or lounge. The house is conveniently located, walking distance to town and an easy drive to Rocky Mountain National Park or the YMCA. We highly recommend the property!

Great Place with a beautiful view-

August 5,2012 stay at the Davis Hill B&B-
As members of our local Landmark Society we appreciated that this historical B&B has been preserved and continues to operate so visitors can experience the craftsmanship of the home. We liked the rustic décor and the fabulous view from the porch letting us take in the great Long’s Peak with its very famous notch. We also enjoyed the hummingbirds as they visited the feeders. There is always a photography opportunity.
We were traveling with our grandson and he enjoyed the area surrounding the home for playing and exploring. Our bedrooms were comfortable and we liked the ceiling fan. The bathroom was handy and shower had great pressure. We found the well-equipped kitchen and barbecue grill perfect for preparing meals. We were able to entertain our friends on the front porch.
Being close to the Rocky Mountain National Park is a real bonus and we saw lots of wildlife. It was nice to have the River Walk only a couple blocks away so we could have a nice experience walking downtown.

Family Vacation

Davis Hill B&B was a great location for our family get together! We traveled from five states, ranging in age from 3 to 80 and all were entertained. This was one of the few homes in/near Estes that had enough bedrooms to accommodate our needs. We spent a lot of time on the porch enjoying the wonderful weather and endless games of horse shoes in the yard. We fully utilized the kitchen and grill for meals, with almost daily trips to Safeway in hope of seeing Elk. One end of the river walk started at the bottom of the hill (2 blocks) from the house, which was a nice peacful walk and trail for running to the lake. Most of all, my family felt at home and was able to relax.

We took advantage of one of the cycling tours, riding downhill through the park for 26 miles, which offered an alternate vantage point of the park and was easy enough for some less experienced cyclists in our party. It was a bit expensive, so not something i would do multiple times should i return to Estes for another vacation.

Beautiful Rustic Home

  • 4 of 5
  • Submitted: Jul 25, 2012

Just spent a week at this property with a portion of my large family. The porch is so beautiful and relaxing. Wonderful views. The weather was fantastic! Especially when the temps were in the triple digits at home for the entire week I was gone. Third week in July and highs in 80s and lows in 50s. I tested all the beds and all were very comfortable. The bedrooms have ceiling fans or other fans if you prefer a little air movement. The kitchen was well equipped with the exception of a few sharp knives. There was even a crock-pot so we could put on a roast before we went hiking. The only inconvenience that we experienced was the limited shower situation. (Note: The owners did offer use of their personal bathroom, but that seemed awkward to me) There are 2 showers/tubs but 1 requires that you go through one of the bedrooms to get to it. Due to this layout, 10 people ended up sharing 1 bathroom. There were 13 of us altogether. The upstairs loft has a sink and commode, but no shower. The installation of a shower upstairs would be a fantastic upgrade and would take some of the pressure off of the main bathroom. We loved the large dining room table. It was large enough for all of us to eat at. There was plenty of seating in the living area. Several members of the family took advantage of the laundry facilities. We also took advantage of the outdoor grill for several meals. The only warning I would give would be to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. This historic home has very creaky floors. No way to sneak down the hallway in the middle of the night to use the bathroom! :o) Overall a very good place to stay, just short of excellent. The owners are very nice and friendly.

Family Reunion

Our family of 13 spent four nights and made great great memories. The house offered plenty of room, was very quaint with all the history and Lois was a great hostess who was available whenever we had questions. Our favorite space was the porch where we all spent hours talking and playing card games. We all can't wait for a return visit and would recommend this property to others. Also, the town of Estes Park offered so much for all in our group (ages 4-74).
