Looking for a charming lakefront cottage to rent with all the comforts of home? This immaculate, well-kept cozy 3 bedroom home sleeps 7 with additional 2 more on a comfortable sleeper sofa. Enjoy waking up in the morning of the lapping sound of the water from your bedroom then a day of swimming, water skiing, fishing or boating. Fire up the grill for a tasty BBQ then gather around a campfire at the water's edge for toasting marshmallows while watching the shimmering moonlight reflection on the lake.

Fully equipped kitchen with everything you will need including a trash compactor, garbage disposal, food processor & microwave. Pillows, blankets, and kitchen towels are provided; you bring the sheets and bath towels. The water is filtered but you need to bring your own drinking water and paper products. Percs inside include 2 cable tv's with DVR & DVD/VHS player is available to play movies, high speed wireless internet, gas heat, washer & dryer, and a large dining room for playing cards. Outside there are 2 large decks, tables and chairs, gas grill, swing, jet ski lift, and a large dock for catching wide-mouth bass, perch, bluegill, or go for the big muskie!! Rowboat is available for your use. Boat ramp is also available at south end of lake if you want to bring your own boat.

Waneta Lake is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes so if you are looking for a little adventure then be sure to visit the eight wineries on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail, and if that isn't enough there are more to venture to on Seneca Lake which offers a unique tasteful experience at each location. If the wineries aren't your thing then visit the nearby Corning Glass Museum, Rockwell Western Art Museum or Curtis Motorcycle/Aircraft Museum. Why not visit the glacier cut Gorge at Watkins Glen and while your there visit the many antique shops or go out on Captain Bill's dinner cruise to see Seneca Lake which is the largest of the Finger Lakes. There is always, golfing, hiking the local waterfalls, Windmill farmers/craft market on Saturday that is an unique experience in itself. Just get in your car & enjoy the rolling hills with grapevines growing on both sides of Keuka & Seneca. The beauty that surrounds Waneta is a photographer's paradise.

Rentals are typically weekly. Saturday at 3:00pm and depart with the following Saturday at 10:00am. Weekends are also available especially in the Fall season. Linens are available at an additional cost.

About Sylvia

When I was 2 yrs old I jumped off the dock on Waneta Lake and scared my mother to death. It was just the beginning of an adventuresome & exciting life that I was going to experience every summer. I have so many fond memories and valued all the friendships that I developed especially my water skiing buddies. We competed and traveled NY to several competitions and I earned my expert rating in slalom and was offered a job by Cypress Gardens. The lake will always be close to my heart even though I can't be there as much now since living in Florida. Renting it out gives other people the wonderful opportunity that I have so enjoyed and now they can experience also.

Why Sylvia chose Waneta Lake

It was my lifelong dream of owning my own place on the lake and I was fortunate that my family always owned this place and it has been passed down through the generations. My children also have a love for the lake and the best thing this past summer was seeing my 5 yr old grandson getting up on the ski sled that my kids used when they were young.

What makes this cottage unique

It is so conveniently located to the many attractions that surround the lake that you will never be bored. You can either just be lazy and float on your raft or jump in the car to go shopping, sightseeing, races at Watkins Glen or just enjoy the beautiful fall leaves on the hillside that surrounds the lake.

My wife and I came to Twin Oaks for a romantic get-away. It was perfect. The cottage is just the right size, very clean, has beautiful view of the lake and wonderful neighbors. The Twin Oaks is centrally located to dozens of wineries, restaurants, beaches, creeks and hikes. The Windmill market in PenYan, the Dr. Frank Winery on Keuka Lake, Glenora Winery on Seneca Lake, the Union Block Restaurant (amazing food & service) in Hammondsport and the great gift store next door and a couple of hours to hang out at the Port in Watkins Glen, were some of our highlights of our three night stay. The Terraced deck off the cottage is an amazing view of Waneta Lake, probably the best of the entire lake excluding the point. We also enjoyed a beautiful three mile country walk behind the cottages along the lake. Thank you Sylvia for such a great stay! We hope to come again.

Lovely Cottage!

Our family spent a wonderful week at Twin Oaks, the cottage was very clean and very spacious. The decks are great to sit and relax and the views of the lake were excellent. The kids had fun fishing and they caught plenty. There are floats and a rowboat so you can go out and fish too. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need and having the extra 1/2 bath is great. This is a great vacation cottage!

My family and I spent a relaxing week at this adorable cottage. It really is more like a home, fully stocked with anything that you might need while enjoying your stay (even a gas grill and plenty of floating rafts). The home was extremely clean and comfortable, even better than what you can see from the photos. The owner is easy to contact with questions, and our vacation was flawless. We enjoyed Hammondsport and Watkins Glenn, hiking and going to wineries, and out for dinner or ice cream, but the relaxing views,swimming right at our cottage, and fishing could not be beat. Bring a motor boat for skiing, or kayaks as the lake is perfect for them! The neighbors were friendly, the 4th of July fireworks were unbelievable all around the lake, and my kids (ages 11-15) loved this vacation!
We would go back to Waneta Lake and stay here again!

We had a wonderful family vacation at Twin Oaks-Waneta Lake. The property was great for enjoying outdoor games, the deck had morning and afternoon sunshine daily and the view was beautiful. we had campfires at night and fished from the dock, the row boat & swimming rafts were enjoyable. It was easy to work from home with the Wifi and lots of tv channels if needed (but the kids never wanted to even turn it on). We made day trips to Penn Yan, Ithaca and Watkins Glen-all within a short distance. However, we never wanted to leave the place because we felt so at home, all the kitchen amentities made it easy and the place was very clean and comfortable. Such a memorable experience, we will come every summer to relive it! Thank you!

This is a great cottage. A great view of the lake through the large sliding glass doors in the family room. Two large decks with good furnishings and a great view across and up and down the lake.Well equipped kitchen. Large dock and nice waterfront for swimming. A good gas grill. A large front lawn that is well manicured. It was very clean and neat with good, comfortable beds and furnishings. It also has a gas furnace if needed on a chilly evening.
