A short walk takes you to the beach down a quiet, dead end street (about 400 feet). No traffic for you to cross. At the other end of the street, the free Island trolley runs every 20 minutes all day, running the length of the island. Bradenton has lots of shopping with an outlet mall in Palmetto. The Pittsburgh Marauders are a Pirates minor league baseball team that play all summer. Tampa has the Buccaneers (NFL), the Lightning (NHL), and St. Pete has the Rays (MLB). To the south, Sarasota is famous for arts and cultural events. Kayaking and biking are popular on the island with guests. Pier fishing, charter fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, and all sorts of water activities are nearby. The island has many small restaurants ranging from sandwich shops to elegant dining. When all that is done, take a beach chair down to the sand and watch a beautiful sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. When the surf is up, the best place in the area is at the beach at the end of the street.

This is a great place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. Lots of activities or turn off the cell and lay on the beach!

Anna Maria Island is a small island located at the mouth of Tampa bay on the west coast of Florida. It sits five miles off the mainland of Bradenton within an easy drive of several metropolitan areas, the largest of which is Tampa. Tampa has numerous attractions, sports teams, shopping, and cultural events. Two hours to the east is Disneyworld near Orlando. The beauty of AMI remains its quiet hometown feel, local shopping within walking distance, and of course, the white sandy beaches with fishing, water sports, or just relaxing on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.
