Spring & Summer in Boulder Bay - a 4-Season Lakeview Retreat

My husband and two kids (ages 12 and 9) stayed at Big Bear Bayview for the first time Super Bowl weekend. While the pictures made it look ideal, they didn't do the place justice.

What was most spectacular about the place is the view of the lake and trees off the large deck upstairs. Half the lake was ice and it made for such a pretty view. It was cold but we still went out on the deck in the sunshine to read books and take in the surrounding area.

Inside, so much of it is redone and much nicer than other places we've stayed in Big Bear. The upstairs bathroom is very nice and you can tell the vanity and fixtures are all new. In the main living area, there is a huge wood burning fireplace (so be sure to take up plenty of wood) and the new wood paneling makes it feel rustic but not old. Best of all for me, it was very clean.

There are dishes and cooking utensils so we ate in quite a bit. I would just say bring your own napkins if you have kids like we do.

The bedrooms were larger than I expected and upstairs sleeps four very comfortably. Downstairs, we played ping pong but didn't hang out down there too much. If you come with another family, the downstairs is an ideal hang out for the kids.

I would highly recommend this place and plan to come back. In fact, our kids were asking when we could come back before we even left.
