INTRODUCTION: This bright, quiet one-bedroom apartment is located right in the heart of picturesque Noe (No-ee) Valley. This well-appointed delightful accommodation is perfect as an executive apartment or vacation rental (32 night minimum lease required). It is clean, secure, smoke-free and pet & eco-friendly.

LOCATION: Nestled in the heart of Noe Valley of San Francisco, the apartment is uniquely perched overlooking the city and the bay, but without having to climb any hills to get to the house. Noe Valley is also blessed as having one of the sunniest and warmest neighborhoods in the city – an important consideration here in San Francisco. And Noe Valley is known for its up-scale desirability and charm -- boasting trendy restaurants, bakeries, wine & cheese shops, fashionable apparel boutiques, floral shops and public transportation.

SIZE & LAYOUT: Tucked away from the street noise, this one-bedroom unit is about the size of a hotel suite. Its open kitchen and bright living area adjoins a large private deck with outstanding panoramic views. A separate bedroom adjoins the living area. It has a private full size bath and there are no stairs to climb.

BUSINESS AMENITIES: Secured high-speed wireless internet is included in the rent. A shared laser printer/copier/scanner/fax machine is also connected to the network. Your own private phone line with unlimited domestic long distance calls and two cordless phones are also included (international calls require your own calling card). “3G” & “4G” cell phone reception is excellent.

ENTERTAINMENT: A 42” flat-screen HDTV, equipped with a DVD/CD player and cable box is installed. Local & premium cable channels plus many free on-demand programs and more are available, free of charge. An I-pod compatible stereo alarm clock is also provided in the bedroom.

STYLISH FURNISHINGS: A breakfast bar with bar stools, twin lounge chairs, coffee table, entertainment console with a wide-screen HDTV, queen-size bed with nightstands, dresser and work desk & chair are tastefully arranged. Elegant, contemporary wall hangings and area rugs enhance the space’s ambience.

PRIVATE DECK: You’ll enjoy exclusive use of your own spacious wood deck with panoramic views of the city, the bay and the neighborhood gardens below. You will find that this space can be a tranquil sanctuary in the middle of the bustling city. Deck furniture includes a gas BBQ, chaise lounge and a patio bistro set.

FULLY EQUIPPED MODERN KITCHEN: New granite countertops, sink with disposal, full-size gas stove & oven, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, microwave and toaster-oven are installed. Kitchen utensils, dishes, glassware, flatware and cookware also provided.

SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS: You’ll have sweet dreams on the queen-sized “Simmons Beauty-Rest” mattress with high thread-count cotton sheets.

PRIVATE BATH: Full size tub/shower with glass enclosure is installed. All cotton bath towels are provided.

SEPARATE SHARED LAUNDRY ROOM: A modern washer/gas dryer, utility sink and iron with ironing board are included.

TRANSIT & PARKING: We are just steps away from the Muni streetcars (J & F-lines) and busses (48-line), the Genentech & Google shuttle coaches and a ten minute walk to BART (24th St Station) and the 24 bus line. This makes getting around town a breeze without a car. Street parking is also available.

LOCAL CONVENIENCES: A “Whole Foods” super-market is a four-minute walk away. Additionally, a convenience store is within a baseball throw from the house, as is a dry cleaning/laundry business. Numerous banks and real-estate agencies are also close-by.

WALKING: We recommend exploring Noe Valley on foot (WalkScore of 97 out of 100; see “Walker's Paradise”). Noe Valley is a safe, well-lit, police patrolled, up-scale neighborhood that is pedestrian friendly. Loads of charming, eye-popping Victorian homes that escaped the fire of 1906 adorn the neighborhood.

FITNESS & BICYCLING: Two local fitness clubs are right around the corner and Castro’s fully equipped two-story gym is a short streetcar ride away. Bicycle rentals are just down the street.

PET-FRIENDLY: Your quiet, friendly dog (under 60 pounds) or cat is welcomed. Large, lockable doggy doors lead to the backyard for safe 24/7 pet relief and we will take care of any backyard clean-up. (Backyard is restricted to pets only.) An enclosed kitty litter box is also available for your cat’s use. A doggy/kitty-cat bed is also provided for your pet.

ECO-FRIENDLY: This apartment is equipped with roof-top electric solar panels, renewable bamboo wood floors & ipe wood decks, environmentally friendly insulation, energy conserving compact fluorescent light bulbs, motion activated switches, energy-saving appliances, water-conserving toilets & shower heads, a new large-capacity gas-saving water heater and a new high-efficiency central-air heater with a smart thermostat.

Fantastic experience in a walker's paradise

Fantastic experience in a walker's paradise

I rented the City View apartment for 3 months and absolutely loved it. The location in Noe Valley was perfect for me because it is a safe, very walkable part of the city. The weather is the best in the city because it was sunny just about every day out of the 92 days I was there, and it is centrally located, so it was easy to hop on MUNI/J Line and get anyplace I wanted to in just a matter of minutes. The view of the city is breathtaking and the deck, with a BBQ, lends itself to many days and nights out there relaxing and taking it all in.

The apartment was immaculate when I checked in and everything was better than I even expected, and I expected a lot based on the other reviews. The owners, Lee and Bob were always available if I needed to contact them, which I rarely did, but it was nice to know that they were there if I needed anything. They are not intrusive at all and I felt like the place was my home just hours after checking in. This was the best rental experience I have ever had, and I've had quite a few.

You will not need to pack much at all, except for clothes, because everything you need is there waiting for you when you check in. You even can spend time with the sweetest dog in the world, if you want to. The dog, Molly, was the high point of my stay at this appointment, although her owners are quite wonderful too. I loved having her over for visits since I was missing my own dogs who were back at home.

Bob and Lee made this the best experience I could have ever imagined and it was very difficult to leave my new "home" when my 3 months was up. Whether you have been to SF many times, or this is your first visit, stay here. It is the perfect home base for wherever your plans take you. Avoid the hotels and touristy areas, and get to know the real SF. You can always hop on the MUNI and go visit all of those places, but then come home to the peace and serenity of your home with the best view in the city. I spent many days walking to the surrounding neighborhoods and felt like a real SF native when the sad day came that I had to leave. There is so much to do even 1 block away down on 24th Street. Perfect location and perfect experience.

The Little Yellow House in Noe Valley

  • 5 of 5
We visit our daughter and grandson several times a year and find that renting flats through VRBO provides the best experience for us. This time our rental was in "The Little Yellow House" which was meticulously kept and the perfect location. We could walk into Noe Valley and enjoy all the wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and stores on 24th street. The owner provided breakfast staples, wine and chocolates which was lovely. The terrace had a great view and was perfect for a relaxing meal outdoors. We look forward to our next visit.

Already looking forward to the next visit

  • 5 of 5
I couldn't recommend "The Little Yellow House" more highly. My only hesitation is that it will become so popular that it will be unavailable the next time we want to visit San Francisco. Bob and Lee maintain their property beautifully and are attentive to their guests' every need - with well stocked breakfast provisions, bathrobes, and even a welcome bottle of California Chardonnay. My wife and I so enjoyed awaking to beautiful sunrises over the East Bay and taking our morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lovely little garden below. We felt completely relaxed and comfortable during our entire stay. And the apartment is so well situated on a residential block right in the center of Noe Valley, a short distance from Dolores Park and a 10-15 minute walk to the great Pizzaria and Restaurant Delfina, the amazing Bi-Rite Grocery Store, and Tartine, where you can find arguably the best bread and baked goods on the planet. Our visit couldn't have been nicer - we're already looking forward to the next one.

This little yellow house was a gift for us. We had to come to SF for a medical appointment with our dogs. We could have stayed at a large hotel in Union Square but it sounded so noisy, crowded and difficult to navigate with dogs. This was a well-appointed, clean little apartment with everything you could possibly need, a gorgeous view off a large deck, a kitchen with everything you need, little touches like chocolates and wine to greet you and the friendliest, most helpful owners.

On 24th street, about 1 block south and West, in the 2-6 block range, there are coffee shops, restaurants and a Whole Foods. Also an art store which I sadly had no time to visit. A couple of the restaurants have outdoor seating and allow dogs - Pasta Pomodoro (once your order is placed, the food comes quickly) and Eat Toast.

The apartment has a doggy door that leads to a hallway shared by another VRBO apartment. At the bottom of some stairs is another doggy door leading to the backyard (no humans allowed). The owners VERY graciously clean up after the dogs. We let them out twice in the early mornings - saved us an early morning need to get dressed and go out for a walk.

Parking overnight is only available on certain days and times - easiest to ask the owners about this but I'd recommend that you have a small car or no car for a more pleasing stay. It took me 40 minutes to find a parking for my truck one day - another day, I found a parking right away.

The value here is excellent. I hope you will stay and find it as great as we did.

Another wonderful weekend at the Little Yellow House

  • 5 of 5
We have stayed at the Little Yellow House several times in the last two years. It has always been just right. The location is great, the hosts are gracious and welcoming, and of course the City is wonderful. We can't think of a better way to visit San Francisco than to stay in Noe Valley at the Little Yellow House. Thanks again.

wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed five days at the little yellow house and everything was perfect. The apartment is nice, modern, very well maintened. It is very, very clean, the mattress is comfortable and the apartment is quiet. We have a large terrace with an overview of San Francisco, it's really nice.
There are nearby interesting restaurants, cafes, bakeries and groceries. The MUNI tram J runs on the street in front of the house, it's very easy to travel in the city and the neighborhood is pleasant.
The owners are very helpful and charming. I think everything is perfect and I recommand this place, it's so nice!
