INTRODUCTION: Unit B -- our City View Suite – is a bright and quiet, newly refinished, completely private one-bedroom suite with a separate entrance, located right in the heart of picturesque Noe (No-ee) Valley. Built on the street level of our cute “Little Yellow House,” this well-appointed stylish accommodation is perfect as an executive apartment or vacation rental. It is clean, secure, smoke-free and pet & eco-friendly. It has many amenities you would find in a fine hotel but with the personal touch of a bed & breakfast. It’s ideally suited for one or two adults, but can accommodate up to three. Your hosts are available to assist you during your stay.
LOCATION: Nestled in the heart of Noe Valley of San Francisco (Church & 24th), the “Little Yellow House” is uniquely perched overlooking the city and the bay, but without having to climb any hills to get to the house. Noe Valley is also blessed as having one of the sunniest and warmest neighborhoods in the city – an important consideration here in San Francisco. And Noe Valley is known for its up-scale desirability and charm -- boasting trendy restaurants, bakeries, wine & cheese shops, fashionable apparel boutiques, floral shops and public transportation. Other B & B’s like to say they are located near Noe, but the “Little Yellow House” is right in the middle of it.
SIZE & LAYOUT: Tucked away from the street noise, unit B is a completely private, one-bedroom apartment is about the size of a hotel suite. Its open kitchen and bright living area adjoins a private deck with outstanding panoramic views. A separate bedroom adjoins the living area. It has a private full size bath and there are no stairs to climb.
WELCOME GIFT & BREAKFAST: It is our pleasure to present you with a welcome gift of a bottle of wine or other preferred beverage upon your arrival. Complimentary continental breakfast items are included for stays up to one month.
BUSINESS AMENITIES: Secured high-speed wireless internet is complimentary. A shared laser printer/copier/scanner/fax is also connected to the network. Your own private phone line with unlimited domestic long distance calls and two cordless phones are also included (international calls require your own calling card). “3G” & “4G” cell phone reception is excellent.
ENTERTAINMENT: A 42” flat-screen HDTV, equipped with a DVD/CD player and cable box is installed. Local & premium cable channels plus many free on-demand programs and more are available. An I-pod compatible stereo alarm clock is also provided.
STYLISH FURNISHINGS: A breakfast bar with bar stools, a pair of comfortable swivel chairs (that convert into twin size beds), coffee table, entertainment console with a wide-screen HDTV, queen-size bed with nightstands, dresser and work desk & chair are tastefully arranged. Elegant, contemporary wall hangings and area rugs enhance the space’s ambience.
PRIVATE DECK: You’ll enjoy exclusive use of your own spacious wood deck with panoramic views of the city, the bay and the neighborhood gardens below. You will find that this space can be a tranquil sanctuary in the middle of the bustling city. Deck furniture includes a gas BBQ, chaise lounge and a patio bistro set.
YOUR OWN FULLY EQUIPPED MODERN KITCHEN: New granite countertops, sink with disposal, full-size gas stove & oven, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, microwave and toaster-oven are installed. Kitchen utensils, dishes, glassware, flatware and cookware also provided.
SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR TWO plus: You’ll have sweet dreams on the queen-sized “Simmons Beauty-Rest” mattress with high thread-count cotton sheets. There are also two twin size convertible beds plus an inflatable twin-size mattress available, which is great for the kids!
PRIVATE BATH: Full size tub/shower with glass enclosure is installed. All cotton bath towels, quality soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided.
SEPARATE SHARED LAUNDRY ROOM: A modern washer/gas dryer, utility sink and iron with ironing board, spray starch, detergent and dryer sheets are also available for your use, free of charge.
MAID SERVICE: Towel and linen change and standard hotel-style maid service is provided once a week for stays up to one month. For stays beyond one month, towel and linen exchange is provided.
TRANSIT & PARKING: We are just steps away from the Muni streetcars (J & F-lines) and busses (48-line), the Genentech & Google shuttle coaches and a ten minute walk to BART (24th St Station) and the 24 bus line. This makes getting around town a breeze without a car. Street parking is also available.
LOCAL CONVENIENCES: A “Whole Foods” super-market is a four-minute walk away. Additionally, a convenience store is within a baseball throw from the house, as is a dry cleaning/laundry business. Numerous banks and real-estate agencies are also close-by.
WALKING: We recommend exploring Noe Valley on foot (WalkScore of 97 out of 100; see “Walker's Paradise”). Noe Valley is a safe, well-lit, police patrolled, up-scale neighborhood that is pedestrian friendly. Loads of charming, eye-popping Victorian homes that escaped the fire of 1906 adorn the neighborhood.
FITNESS & BICYCLING: Two local fitness clubs are right around the corner and Castro’s “Gold’s Gym” is a short streetcar ride away. Bicycle rentals are just down the street.
TOURISM: There is no shortage of things to see and do in San Francisco and the greater bay area. We will provide maps and tourist information for you on request and we would be delighted to answer any questions, provide directions or supply insider’s tips on having fun here in the “city by the bay.” Together, we have over forty years of combined living experience here in town and we are happy to share it with you.
PET-FRIENDLY: Your quiet, friendly dog (under 60 pounds) or cat is welcomed here at the “Little Yellow House.” Large, lockable doggy doors lead to the backyard for safe 24/7 pet relief and we will take care of any backyard clean-up. (Backyard is restricted to pets only.) An enclosed kitty litter box is also available for your cat’s use. Individual pet water bowls are always clean and full. A doggy/kitty-cat bed is also provided for your pet. Our own mature and friendly dog -- “Molly” -- will make your pet feel right at home.
ECO-FRIENDLY: This apartment is equipped with roof-top electric solar panels, renewable bamboo wood floors & ipe wood decks, environmentally friendly insulation, energy conserving compact fluorescent light bulbs, motion activated switches, energy-saving appliances, water-conserving toilets & shower heads, a new large-capacity gas-saving water heater and a new high-efficiency central-air heater with a smart thermostat.
