Tracey purchased this villa in 2011
Built this property with retirement in mind. Our family loves the island and the people.
Beautiful ocean and mountain views from the deck. Entertainment options in the home are unparalled in the area from the built-in 150 inch hi definition movie projector to the large flat screen TVs in each room and the separate video game room for children.
This was my second time visiting Sosua and staying in one of Tracey's villas and I had an awesome time. I came down with my family members to celebrate a birthday and it was just one continuous party from the time I landed until I left. Between the great pool at the house, the beach, the zip lines (my second time doing that) and the Sosua nightlife there was never any down time. Most importantly, being able to spend time with my family on a beautiful island was the cherry on top. I literally cried when I left my family (because me and my wife left first--big mistake). This villa is a little smaller than the other villa I stayed in but has the same creature comforts (big tv, free phone service, wifi and plenty of entertainment). As a firefighter I value my vacation time a lot. This villa and vacation gave me just what I needed to recharge my batteries.
While I am not rich, I have travelled extensively around the world including to some of the most beautiful islands. I have to say that while this is not the most expensive or biggest home I have stayed in it is one of the best. Where do I start. First, the villa is located close to town, beach and the local restaurants. Walking from the villa to the beach is less than 10 minutes and is a quick and scenic trip because you must pass through town to get to the beach. It's also great exercise because the walk back to the villa from the beach is mostly uphill. Not a problem for me since I am a New Yorker and I walk a lot. If you can't hack walking back then there is a 24 hour taxi service that will take you back to the villa in 2 minutes. The villa is in a gated development with friendly security guards who stroll the premises and is located close to the main security gate which is the only way in and out of the development (which is huge) as far as I could tell. When you walk up the stairs to the villa you immediately see the huge pool and the villa is set back off the street which offers a lot of privacy. The pool is fully tiled in white and the crystal clear water is very inviting. The pool deck is beautiful and bright and I spent a lot of time on the deck because the sun hits the deck for most of the day. The weather was in the 80's for most of our stay and sunny but not too hot. It did rain a couple of the days while I was there as it was nearing the end of the rainy season but never for long and bugs did not seem to be a problem after the rain stopped (but I kept a bottle of Off handy just in case). We did order the chef while there and she was fantastic. Her fish and beans, pancakes and eggs, shrimp pasta and pepper steak are awesome. She also surprised us with a delicious chocolate cake since we were celebrating a birthday which was a kind gesture. Like the chef, the rest of the maids and staff were very helpful and friendly. The staff, villa, development and location are well-deserving of 5 stars and I would recommend this villa to even my most demanding friends.
This was my first trip to the Caribbean in years and this property made it very special. Walking up the steps to the villa and seeing the beautiful pool I knew this was going to be a great trip. It took me a while to figure out all of the electronics in the house but once I got it my stay was made even better. The owner answered all of my questions in a timely manner and the descriptions of the villa were on point. The pictures in fact can't match the beauty of the property. Nice extras include being able to walk into town to the restaurants and supermarket. Try the angus burger at Morua Mai it was great. Can't wait to return.
This is the second time I have stayed at this property and would highly recommend it to my friends and family. The home itself provides all of the amenities you would want i.e cable, internet access, and pool etc. A perk of this property is that it is within walking distance to stores, restaurants and the like. The service is great and the owner takes the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Above all this property is gated and has security that makes sure you feel comfortable. My family has already started planning a third visit. Definitely worth it!
Had an awesome time while staying in Tracy's villas. I spent a wonderful 4 nights and had all the comforts of home and then some. My birthday getaway was just great to say the least. I can't wait until next September to rent the best place in Sousa again with my friends.
Words can't describe how beautiful this villa is. I have been to the Dominican Republic twice prior to this trip and honestly this stay has to be the best one yet. A major part was because in places that I have stayed for a week and called home, I've never stayed at a villa so beautiful. Walking up to the pool was breathe taking. The views into the skyline were something one can only dream of if not seen in person. Everything in town was a quick five minutes away- supermarkets, banks, bars, nightclubs, places to eat and beach so everything was close by. If you do go to the beach make sure you grab something to eat at Big Mama's cafe. Gotta to be the best food by far and I would also do the boat ride in Sosua. Insane views. Truly remarkable. If you get a chance to stay in this villa make sure you get the chef Nene, she was like family and she very took very good care of us. The Banana pancakes and pepper steak and rice are to die for. Tracys staff was remarkable--treated us less like tourists and more like family. Very attentive and very helpful. Here's the ironical thing about my whole stay at this villa-- I always try to plan these trips for about a week or so and my friends always tell me that's too long of a stay before hand. But since I've been back to America my two friends have called me and told they want to come back to this villa and stay for two weeks if possible. This villa is honestly something that you strive for in life to see and know that all your hard work is paying off and I'm just very fortunate that I had the opportunity to stay here with a great staff . I had some great experiences with my friends and I had the time of my life. Will definitely be back next year and who knows maybe twice. If you get a chance to visit the DR stay at this this Villa and make sure you get it. I would like just thank Tracy and her staff, chef Nene and everybody else at Hispaniola residencial (not sure if I spelled that completely correct) but nevertheless I wanna thank everybody that I met there. Me and my friends are very appreciative that we had the opportunity to stay at this villa.
The Hispaniola Residential Community in which the villa resides is a short 10-15 minute drive from the Puerto Plata airport. Sosua Beach with its crystal clear waters and fabulous natural reefs and other private beaches are nearby. In addition to snorkeling, world class water sport activities and horseback riding in Sosua and nearby Cabarete (15 minutes), a highly recommended fantastic zip line and monkey jungle adventure awaits in El Choco less than 20 minutes away (not for the feint of heart, though). The annual Carnival event takes place in nearby Puerto Plata in the February time frame.
