Photos and Description of the Gyenesdias vacation rental

Our apartment in a guesthouse includes a double room, dining corner, bathroom with shower, toilet and a compltetly equipped kitchen. You can use the closed parking lot, the open swimming pool and the restaurant (sincere, Hungarian kitchen, open all day long). It is located about 300 m away from Lake Balaton and the bicycle path that is built around it. Bicycles are available at our house. Hévíz (5 km) is Europe’s largest thermal lake – it has over 20°C even in winter and is suited for the treatment of rheumatism and other organds. There are several shopping facilities in the nearby Keszthely (2 km) – Interspar, Lidl and a pedestian area with many shops. The place is well suited for excursions: 2 km Kezthely (Castle Festetics), 20 km Badacsony (vineyard), 25 km Suemeg (fort), 30 km (small Lake Balaton, natural reserve), 50 km Tihany (peninsula). In case of an arrival via plane, train or bus we also offer transfer.

Gyenesdiás is a spread settlement at the food of a coniferous woodland covered hill that are already put together with Keszthely. You find everything for your holiday in town (restaurants, well manicured beaches, shopping facilities). In Keszthely you can discover many sights (Castle Festetics, Helickon Library with 52000 volumes, Kastanienallee that leads you to the town from the southern side (nature conservation) and Balaton Museum. In summer there are theatre plays in the casle park. Furthermore you will find several high-class restaurants and plain, nice pubs that are awaiting you. Hévíz, Europe’s largest thermal lake, where you can swim even in winter (water temperature above 22°C) is nearby.

Notes: Our restaurant is at our guests’ disposal from breakfast to dinner time. Our apartment is located on the first floor. It is made for 2 people (on demand we can provide one additional bed). You have 35 m² living space, a small bedroom with TV, dining corner and kitchen (everything needed for cooking is there), bathroom with shower and toilet. The house is located near Lake Balaton and the bicycle path. You can hava a massage or manicure (if you desire) in the house and at the hairdresser’s on the other side of the street. Bicycles can be rent at our house (and you will get complete descriptions and maps for excursions).

Around Lake Constance by bicycle: You can design a trip at our house. We will (on demand) arrange a rest, give description or company, rent bikes. This bicycle path around Lake Constance is a mixture of directly built bicycle path and low traffic streets throght towns. You can best discover the surrounding by bike and we will support you with this.

The lake of Hévíz: The surface of Europe’s largest thermal lake measures 10.9 acres. A special ornament is the Egyptian Nymphaea Lotus that blooms from April to October. The misty lake seems very exotic, especially in cold weather. From our apartment you can reach the lake within 10 minutes. Its water is particularly suited for treatments of rheumatism. You can swim in the open even in winter (water temperature is always above 22°C).

For horse lovers: For horse lovers there are several opportunities (on demand we arrange): Trip to Suemeg (ruins of the fortress with fort games), Tapolca (lake cave), Tihany peninsula, (abbey church, ferry), Small Lake Balaton (nature reserve); Herend (porcelain factory), Balaton-Oberland (valley of the arts).

Wir hatten in der Vorsaison (vom 4.5. - !8.5.2009) eine Ferienwohnung gebucht und waren mit allem sehr zufrieden. Sicher hat auch das gute Wetter dazu beigetragen. Wir haben den westlichen Balaton kennengelernt und sind der Meinung: Er ist eine Reise wert. Älteren und auch Familien mit Kleinkindern ist Pension Anita sehr zu empfehlen.

Ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis

Haben vom 08.06-21.06.2008 eine Ferienwohnung mit Halbpension gebucht. Die Ferienwohnung war liebevoll eingerichtet, sauber und gepflegt. In dem Gebäude befinden sich mehrere Zimmer und eine Gaststätte. Die ganze Pension ist sehr gepflegt und wird als Famlienunternehmen geführt. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und reichhaltig. Auch Sonderwünsche wie Rühr- oder Spiegelei am Morgen wurden jederzeit realisiert.
Auch auf die ungarische Küche wurde noch Wert gelegt. Natürlich kann man aber auch Spagetti oder Schnitzel bestellen, aber dazu brauchen wir nicht nach Ungarn zu fahren. Da das Objekt am Nordwestufer des Balatons liegt eignet es sich recht gut als Ausgangsort für Wanderungen in die ca 300-400m hohen Berge. Auto zur Anfahrt ist aber erforderlich. Empfehlenswert: Burg Sümeg, Schloß und Marzipanmuseum Keszthely, Berg Badacsony, Tapolca Seehöhle (Spitze - ein mit einem Boot befahrbarer Höhlensee mitten in der Stadt - nichts für Leute mit Platzangst), verschiedene Thermalbäder u.a. Hevíz.
Wir würden diese Pension unseren Freunden auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und haben es auch schon gemacht.
Schlußbemerkung: obwohl in der Pension auch eine Gaststätte ist, war es Abends nicht laut.
