4 Bedroom House that Sleeps 16. Ski in Ski Out Mountain Chalet

Three families stayed here for the Mardi-Gras get-away and we all agree this was the best vacation we have ever had. We had so much fun that we have decided to return every year to Angel Fire and stay at this home.

The home is located 500 feet from the summit which means you step right out the back door to ski out, and when we skiied enough for the day, we'd return the the home skiing right up to the back door. Truly truly ski in ski out. This was so perfect for the group and was my favorite part of our stay. The hot tub ran a close second because there is nothing like a dip in the hot tub when there is snow on the ground. It was just wonderful.

The home is beautiful - the sun room warm and soothing. We slept well every night in very comfortable beds. The owners, Rick and Virginia, are so kind and kept in touch making sure were happy and taken care of. They made sure we knew if we needed anything (which we did not) we were comfortable about approaching them. We really appreciated that.

We spent much of the apres' ski time sitting around the balconette laughing and laughing and laughing.

What more could one ask? It was perfect.

We rented this unique and beautiful house for a family ski vacation. There were 16 of us and we all fit very comfortably. I really liked how 3 of the bedrooms had a large bed for parents and really cool built-in bunks for the kids. The only draw back was you had to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to another. But there was an exterior entrance to that last bedroom if it became a big deal, which it didn't.

The house was extremely clean and totally stocked with everything we could possibly have needed. The rooms were all of generous size with nice furnishings. The kitchen was awesome and we all loved gathering around the built-in booth to eat or just talk. However, I do wish there had been a bigger table for the eight adults to gather around. But the kids had plenty of seating.

Angel Fire is a great place to ski for intermediate skiers (not so much for the first timers.) And the house is well situated for skiing home for lunch and at the end of the day. However, only the good skiers were able to "ski out". The run right next to the house is un-groomed and leads to a pretty steep and rocky (but short) trail to "Heading Home". The novice skiers had to walk a little further to get to the groomed trail. Not a huge deal, and the owner made a really nice trail in the snow for them to follow. All the kids loved playing in the large yard and even tried to make snow forts.

The owners are extremely nice and communicated well with us, answering all my questions immediately. I had lots of questions before we got there...

This year my family decided to do something different for New Years and see some real snow. We are from San Antonio Texas and we never seen real snow. As we drove onto the property we were so excited to see such a beautiful home just as we had seen on the website. The landlord was waiting for us and he had a nice fire going. We were a family of 14, 6 adults and 8 kids. We all had plenty of space and the house was stocked with every appliance you could possibly need. The location was great, the kids had fun sliding down the driveway and playing outside. The ski in and out worked out just fine we took advantage of that from the youngest to the oldest. The owner was very helpful and made sure our stay was a memorable one. I would definitely recommend this property.
