House, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

This newly renovated, one bedroom, lower-level suite is airy, bright and situated along side a tranquil creek. The suite has a separate, private entrance, is fully self-contained and has sound-proofing in the ceiling. It can accommodate 2 people. There is a covered deck with a BBQ available for use (excluding winter use) with plenty of room to sit and relax while listening to the creek or for storing bikes and skis. Our lush, private backyard is open for guests to enjoy. The main living space is an open concept design, with a well equipped kitchen, dining space and lounge area. After an exhilarating day of playing in the mountains, feel free to kick back and watch a movie from our DVD library. The bedroom has large windows and a queen sleigh bed. All linens and towels are included as well as wireless internet. Sorry, no smoking or pets allowed.

We are within a short walking distance to amenities such as: a grocery and liquor store, a local pub and restaurant, and Dairy Queen. Also close by are: the Rails to Trails, rock climbing crags, mountain biking trails, a boat launch and Lakeside Park and Beach. You can walk to the centre of Nelson’s historic downtown in just 15 minutes.

Nelson’s Whitewater Ski Resort is a 20 minute drive away and Rossland’s Red Mountain Resort is a 1 hour drive. The Castlegar airport is a 40 minute drive.

There is plenty to do and see in Nelson both during the summer and winter. We enjoy skiing, climbing, hiking and mountain biking and would be happy to help you find what you are looking for. Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions about current conditions.

This creek-side suite is the perfect place to get away to relax and unwind. Anything is possible, whether it’s enjoying a fine dining experience, exploring Nelson and its surroundings, attending one of the many colourful outdoor festivals and markets, or floating on Kootenay Lake.

About The Owner

My wife and I have been visiting family in Nelson for the last decade and have always been drawn to spend holiday time here. We finally decided to move to Nelson in 2008 so that we could live in the heart of the beautiful Kootenays instead of just vacationing here. We are both elementary school teachers who love the outdoors. We are passionate about skiing, hiking, mountain biking and climbing. We know you will enjoy Nelson just as much as we do!

What makes this house unique

In Nelson, there are endless possibilities for outdoor enthusiasts. During winter, we are often skiing at Whitewater Ski Resort or backcountry ski touring in the surrounding areas. In the summer we enjoy hiking and camping in the provincial parks nearby as well as mountain biking on the endless network of trails that Nelson has to offer. We also enjoy rock climbing at the different local crags. Whenever our bodies are in need of a rest day, we love the 2 minute walk to Lakeside Park and Beach where a swim in Kootenay Lake or a snooze on the beach soothes the soul.

Amazing space

We really loved the suite. It is clean and modern and in a beautiful location next to the creek. We will definitely stay there again soon. This place has everything you could need and more. We have traveled to Nelson many times and this is our favorite place to stay while we are there.

Peaceful Creekside Suite Perfect For Two

We found our stay with Kim and Ryan to be perfect. They have taken a great deal of time and effort into getting their rental unit just right. We have stayed in alot of vacation rentals and could find absolutely no fault in what they had done.

You walk down a lovely stone path along side a rushing creek (rushing when we were there) to the entrance of the unit over looking the garden. The creek made it so peaceful at night. We didn't hear any traffic at all. Not that there is to much on this street to begin with.

Inside is a brand new kitchen with everything you need to cook at home. Love the cheese grater.

There is a dining area, living room, bathroom and bedroom. There are plenty of windows to see the view out of... watch for the rainbows.

Plenty of hanging and storage space. Every seat in the place is comfortable. All of it nicely appointed, well designed and maintained.

And Kim and Ryan are a delight and a wealth of information. We can't recommend them highly enough.

We are not hotel people, but rather we prefer to rent vacation houses so that we can be in a home away from home. During the past two decades we have rented vacation houses in British Columbia and in Europe. Creek Side Suite in Nelson was a wonderful discovery for us as we love to escape from the hectic pace of Vancouver to Nelson especially as our daughter and her family live there. We stayed for four nights over the Thanksgiving in October 2012. The owners,Kim adn Ryan, are a delightful and helpful young couple who have put a lot of thought into making this spotless one bedroom suite both comfortable and attractive. There are lots of windows in the open plan kitchen-eating-sitting area with some view of the mountains and a peek a boo view of the lake. We found that the flow of the creek offers a pleasing soundscape. The efficient corner kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom is well designed. The accommodation is located within easy walking distance of Lakeside Park and although not in the centre of Nelson one could still stay there without a vehicle as to walk to town is about half an hour and there is also a bus stop close by. We hope to rent this accommodation again before too long.
