Starstruck Day and Night"
My wife, teenage daughter with friend, and I spent a week at "Starstruck" for our first visit to St. John. The accommodations, view and privacy left nothing to be desired. The location lent itself to convenient downtown access for shopping and night life while also being a perfect launching point for excursions to the island's back-side. Lounging by the pool for an afternoon grilling, using the Jacuzzi for an aqua massage or taking in the untainted night sky from the stone patio or terrace very quickly became our regimen. ___
I will keep it short: Starstruck is excellent. It is a big, beautiful, well-appointed house that easily accommodated our group of 8 over New Years. The views from the terraces and bedrooms are jaw-dropping. It is an easy 10-minute drive to Cruz Bay. Jay (the owner) and Denise (the property manager) are responsive, and take a personal interest in making sure their guests have a good time.
Great house, awesome views . Conveniently located, yet private. Hot tub was a nice plus. Onsite representative was very helpful and knowledgeable. Kitchen was well stocked and had a great breeze. Pool was nice size but didn't get much chance to use it.
My husband and I just returned from our 6th trip to St. John, and are thrilled we picked a new house to stay in this year. We traveled in a group of 8, and Starstruck was the perfect size and layout for 2 couples and 4 singles with four equally laid-out queen bedrooms, each with the same view and an en suite bathroom that includes double sinks (no battling over the rooms, whatsoever). Our views from Starstruck were incredible -- we stood on the balconies in the evenings, looking out on Cruz Bay towards St. Thomas as the sun set in the distance. As we told the property manager, Denise, the photos online do not do Starstruck justice (the views are the best we've had in all of our years staying on St. John)! Starstruck has a big dining table and kitchen to accommodate a group of our size, a lovely private pool, a hot tub looking out over Cruz Bay, plenty of outdoor patio dining tables in the front and back of the house, and beach towels, chairs, and snorkel gear available for guest use. While our stays on St. John are usually seamless, we had a bit of a crisis one morning with our house's safe battery dying while all of our passports and money were trapped inside when we were supposed to be heading out on a BVI cruise. Denise answered our panicked calls at 6 in the morning and came through with a maintenance man who was able to get into the safe and retrieve our items before the morning was over. She even helped to rebook us on a private charter to the BVI the next day and covered the extra costs for our troubles. She was exceptional in her service and is an asset to the management of Starstruck. The owner, Jay, is also easily accessible, friendly, and a pleasure to coordinate with when we were planning our trip. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and gladly recommend it to anyone looking for breathtaking views, proximity to Cruz Bay and the western beaches, and higher-end accommodations for a surprisingly affordable price. Thank you Denise and Jay for another memorable week on our favorite island!
We had a spectacular stay at Starstruck. The home layout and amenities are true to the listing and pictures online. We loved being close enough to Cruz Bay to get "in town" and yet feeling away from it all when we were at Starstruck. The home was immaculate when we arrived. The owner, Jay, was a pleasure to deal with as was his on island property manager Denise. The house is perfect for a family or several couples. We were there with our three college age children. We used the pool everyday and enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the back porch each evening. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. . . beach chairs, coolers, snorkel gear, and an incredibly well equipped kitchen. We would go back in a heart beat and rent from Jay any time.
Starstruck is simply a perfect villa, location. This trip my son and daughter-in-law went with Renee and myself. They were in awe of the entire experience.
The villa has no wants or additional needs. We are avid hikers and each morning we would drive to any of the trails, eat lunch, then enjoy the rest of the day at the villa. The pool is excellent as well as all amenities. We do tend to spend much time around east end as we love all the trails. Skinny's, tourist trap(lobster wraps), shipwreck great lunches. Dinner- Morgan's Mango, Lime Inn, Rhumbline, and my wife's favorite, a nite at home enjoying the villa with Ronnis's pizza! Dave McCann
Our stay at Starstruck was simply perfect. The home is stunning, clean, and well appointed. It's also perfectly situated to get anywhere on the island. We visited Maho Bay and Saltwater Pond using the beach chairs, coolers, and sand toys available at the house. We did yoga on the bottom porch overlooking Pillsbury Sound and listening to the breeze rustle the tropical leaves. The kids loved the pool and rafts. And we ate breakfast dinner almost every day outside on the upper porch. We loved the layout of the house. We had six adults, two children and a baby using all four bedrooms. I really appreciated how quiet the house was so the baby could take naps and go to bed earlier than everyone else without worrying about noise. We would definitely love to return someday.
