Overview

London Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Studio cottage with magnificant wooded views all around.

Are you looking for a place with a close up view of water? This may be exactly what you desire.

Whether you are watching the peaceful and serene 1/2 acre pond from the inside of the of cottage through the windows, or from the back deck, one thing is certain: it will have a calming and soothing effect on you. The pond is located directly behind the cottage stocked with numerous bluegills for your fishing enjoyment; and some are good sized. Or maybe you would like to watch the gentle waves upon the surface of the water from the floating dock on the far end of the pond.

If you like bird watching, you will see birds of all varieties feed at the nearby feeders. Their antics are very entertaining. Already you will be able to hear the songs of springtime birds in the early morning.

Speaking of birds, this cottage is very popular with the hummingbirds. The birds arrive here around the end of April, and stay until mid September. The peak season for watching these beauties up close and personal are late May through August. You will enjoy watching the cute antics of these tiny birds as they feed from the feeders hanging on the back deck. You can even get close enough to some of them to take great pictures.

Feel free to take a walk around the property; breathe in the fresh, country air. You may even get a glance of deer or turkey.

Located within the confines of the Daniel Boone National Forest, this property is secluded yet not remote. It is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and leave all of your worries behind.

From the pond just steps away from the cottage to the rolling hills and mature forest beyond, your eyes will behold the beauty and wonders that abound here.

Feel free to feed carrots and apples to our three horses. The horses love our guests, especially ones who come bearing treats for them!

There is another stocked pond on the property for your fishing pleasure. It is a smaller pond (stocked with blue gill and bass), and is just a short walk away from the cottage. Don't let the small size of this pond fool you; some really nice fish have been caught from it!

The inside of this cottage is loaded with character and charm; it even has a real tree trunk in it! You are sure to be pleased when you see all the amenities that are included; just bring your clothes, food, and drinks, plus fishing poles and bait if you plan on doing some fishing. See the 'amenities' section to see all that we supply for you. The cottage has WIFI service so you may keep in touch with family and friends.

It is well equipped to give you all the warmth you need in the spring, fall and winter, and all the coolness you need in the summertime months.

A gas log fireplace (seasonal), is enclosed in a genuine, field stone chimney spanning from floor to ceiling and is one of the features of the inside of the cottage.

The living room has a 32 inch flat screen television with Dish net service, lazy boy recliner, and a couch that converts into a queen sized sleeper bed.

Finished original wood flooring in the kitchen, living room, and bedroom adds a rustic touch to the inside.

Your well behaved and housebroken pet is welcome at the cottage; there is a $10.00 per day non refundable pet fee. If you are planning on bringing your pet, please mention it to us before making your reservation.

This property is owner maintained and cleaned; it is immaculate!

Feel free to build a fire in the fire pit that is in the backyard. No need to bring firewood as we supply the wood for you. It's a great way to end a perfect day.

This property is conveniently located 3 miles off I-75 and a short drive from London. It is ideal for a weekend get away, a week long stay, a romantic escape, or a place to stay instead of a cookie cutter motel room.

For people who are off road enthusiasts, and own their own 4-wheeler, Wildcat Adventures Off road park is only three miles away. They have over 70 miles of trails to explore.

Note: If your desired dates are not available for this cottage, and you are looking for a property that sleeps two adults traveling without any pets, you may want to check out our newly constructed cabin, which is on the same property but is very secluded. It is listing # 3865066.

About Julee Skarka

My husband Pete and I are orginally from Northern Illinois. We moved down to Kentucky in 2001, and absolutely love it here. Pete had lived in Kentucky in the past when he attended MSU and fell in love at that time with the beautiful countryside. We currently have a small farm and raise chickens and have three pleasure horses for our personal use, plus Holstein calves.

Julee Skarka purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Julee Skarka chose London

We love horses and living in the country, and when we first set eyes on this piece of property, it was love at first sight! We really do feel like we have a small piece of heaven right here. The rolling hillsides, the deep woods, and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets just confirm the fact that we made the right choice by moving to Kentucky.

What makes this cottage unique

We are very near to the Daniel Boone National Forest which gives us great wooded views all around. There are numerous trails everywhere, great for both horseback riding and hiking, which we both love to participate in. We chose this property over all others because of it's beauty, tranquility, and seclusion.

We desire that you would feel 'at home' while you are here, and we are dedicated to give you the best service possible. It is our goal that every guest who visits comes away feeling refreshed and re-newed, and our hope is that you would desire to visit us again in the future.

Peaceful, comforting, and serene

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at dark after driving quite a distance and Julee stayed on the phone guiding us to the cabin. Even in the dark I knew it was lovely.

We were able to settle in quickly, the cabin was warm and very welcoming. Come sunshine, the beauty took away all thoughts of needing to do anything but breath.

My dogs were able to roam the property and meet the farm animals, which were extermely friendly.

The kitchen had everything I needed to cook all our meals and bake delicious treats.

The birds that are around this cabin are incredible. Truly a sanctuary.

For rest, relaxation, calm and comfort, this was perfect.

Julee and Pete, thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with guests.

God's blessings to you both.

Love Love Love!

  • of 5

We cannot wait to come back to the cottage. If we didn't have so much family to visit I wouldn't have minded driving all the way from NY just to stay in the rental all day. The cabin was immaculate and every detail and accommodation you could think of was available. Cozy, warm, private and absolutely made me hate coming home. We will be back again and again, no more hotels or relatives' couches!

Relaxing and enjoyable

  • 5 of 5

This rental was all that we were looking for....The cabin was cozy and clean. Julee and Pete anticipated everything we would need to be comfortable, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. We loved the peace and quiet and the laid back atmosphere. Julee and Pete were exceptional hosts. Julee even put fresh eggs in the refrigerator, (what a treat for us!) We relaxed a lot and we also enjoyed touring the area, as there was plenty to do within an easy driving distance. We plan on returning for another relaxing vacation in the future.
