Maui Kamaole L205- Luxury, Comfort, Location
Submitted: May 14, 2013
Stayed: February 2013
I first ventured to Maui 19+ years ago. In fact on my second visit and my family's first, we stayed in another Maui Kamaole 2 bedroom. Nice, but quality and view didn't quite measure up to the good fortune we had to spend a week at Maui Kamaole L205 in Feb/March, 2013. Yes, we spent many happy hours sipping drinks, lounging, chatting and sunning in the delightful breeze off the ocean, about a 5-minute walk through lushly landscaped pathways to the beach down and across S. Kihei Road. No matter how many times we've all been to Maui, pulling out the binoculars at the sight of a "puff" of vapor in the distance never seems to get "old" and we competed at spotting the ubiquitous spouts and flukes of the famous migrating Humpbacks from the comfortable chairs on the capacious and well-situated lanai - reached through a sliding door from the high-ceilinged living/ dining room.
The view from there is just to the right/north of the sprawling yet surprisingly hospitable Kamaole III Beach Park, including the West Maui's mountains and reflections off the cars traversing the highway from Maalaea up to Lahaina and beyond. There's Kahoolawe to see as well, with 160+ degrees of view available.
This particular MK condo unit is cheerily furnished, bright and airy - just what one hopes for on a holiday trip to the Valley Isle. The view's the thing, for sure, yet it is aided by a number of other carefully chosen amenities. These include a large fridge and modern appliances and a well-stocked kitchen. The closets sport a variety of beach and pool (two on property) supplies and towels, a lending library of books and movies, plus free and strong Wi-Fi (we hooked up our Apple TV and watched Netflix in the eves) and large flat screen TV's and DVD's in the living and bedrooms (the mostly private (louvered screened “windows” open up down to L/R below) loft master, king bed room also boasts a large double-sinked vanity in the en suite with tiled shower big enough for two.) A first-level 2nd bedroom offers twins and a full roomy bathroom with tub as well.
Quiet and up above most of the other units in this already low-density complex, this lovingly and tastefully renovated home was perfect for us and would be quite comfortable for 5 adults or a six-person family, with at least 4 sleeping private to semi-privately, given the pullout couch. The beds and linens were comfortable and of good quality, along with the hide-a-bed sofa in the living room.
We'd love to come back again!
