Burke's 'Lakeside' Cottage is nestled under ancient pines and towering mountains amid perennial gardens in the tiny hamlet of Sabael on Indian Lake. Located in the central Adirondack Mountains - the last great wilderness areas in the northeast. Indian Lake is surrounded by 90% 'forever wild' wilderness areas with only 10% privately held properties providing you a wonderful wilderness experience just steps from the lake. The cottage overlooks the lake from almost every room, and the Burkes are privileged to offer you a completely furnished cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 den, sleeping a maximum of six on two twins, a queen and a double (sofabed), a complete, eat-in kitchen, large living room with fireplace, covered porch with dining table and seating, a charcoal grill and a beach swim float and free canoes and kayaks. Weekly rentals during July and August (with two night minimum rentals if available). Boat Rentals and golf course nearby. NO PETS PLEASE
Purchased Burke's Cottages in 1979. Lakeside in 1985 Always loved the Adirondacks and fell in love with Indian Lake!
Rose & Bruce Burke purchased this cottage in 1985
The most beautiful lake - surrounded by wilderness - only 10% of the surrounding land is privately owned. Rose has been coming to the Adirondacks with her family since the mid fifties. Stayed in Mrs. Moorhouses' cottages with family in Lake George for years, then at McAveighs on Loon Lake every summer for another 4 years. Love the peace of the mountains, and the beauty of the lakes.
Remote, but the hiking trails with magnificent views at trails end, exploring the nooks and crannies of the lakes, waterfalls and wilderness fill our hearts with peace and joy. We want to share these with you and your families as well!
