Come and relax in a completely renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bath chalet with the most breathtaking views of the Appalachians.
Located just three miles north of Downtown Bakersville, smooth well-maintained paved roads take you to our newly-surfaced gravel driveway, a safe and easy ride for any vehicle. You will not be disappointed with the amenities you’ll enjoy during your stay. This home sleeps six vacationers in comfort.
Downstairs you’ll find the “Purple Room”, a beautifully decorated large bedroom with a comfortable, king-sized bed and premium furnishings. Next door is the “Pumpkin Room”. This fun room is perfect for two little ones, but can also sleep two adults in separate twin beds. The downstairs bath features custom cabinetry, a clear glass vessel sink, and a standard bath tub.
The Master Bedroom is privately situated on the 2nd floor with its own gorgeous bathroom. Enjoy the mission-style king-sized bedroom suite with new memory foam mattress. The full, but compact spaced bathroom features a custom frameless glass shower enclosure.
Downstairs, the gourmet kitchen features custom cherry cabinets and an elegant granite countertop and backsplash. All new appliances and everything you need is available so you can cook as much or as little as you like on your vacation. The deep double sink makes cleanup easy.
The living room features a mission-style desk and a comfortable leather couch and chair, the perfect place to sit and read, surf the Internet on the free high-speed Wi-Fi, or enjoy the home theater with its 42” HDTV, Blu-ray player, and Dish Network HD programming. Plug in your iPod’s headphone jack to the stereo receiver and enjoy your music over the speakers.
The gas fireplace keeps things warm on winter nights and sets a romantic mood. The beautiful mission-style fireplace surround is topped by a mantle featuring the same granite found in the kitchen. On the walls you’ll find some of the owner’s photographs on canvas, many shot in the surrounding area.
The deck just off the living area features a new gas grill, and offers incredible views of the Roan Mountain range and the valley below. Enjoy the cool mornings with a cup of coffee on the deck. Evening meals outside are a treat on the massive glass dining table. Enjoy a walk through the surrounding woods with their granite outcroppings. Keep an eye out for whitetail deer and wild turkey.
Just four miles away (as the crow flies) at the top of Roan Mountain is the NC/TN state line. The Appalachian Trail runs along its summit, and several other easy trails take you to stunning scenic overlooks. If you saunter over to the top of the driveway and look south (the way you face coming up the driveway), you’ll see the Black Mountains, with the tallest visible peak being Mt. Celo. 25 minutes in that direction lies the Blue Ridge Parkway, and scenic day trips to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Linville Gorge is off the Parkway, and is a must-see, as is nearby Grandfather Mountain, with its twin peaks and unique zoo.
Downtown Bakersville is just three miles down the road, and has interesting galleries, shops and cafes worth a visit. Just to the south is Spruce Pine, with several nice restaurants in its historic downtown, and all the amenities including an Ingles Grocery and a Super Wal-Mart. An hour’s drive away is Asheville, a larger city with lots of unique shops, restaurants and live music venues in the evenings.
If it’s winter sports that you come to the mountains for, both Sugar Mountain and Wolf Laurel ski resorts are less than an hour away.
