Excellent apartment at a great location; great for families

This is an excellent apartment. We stayed for a week in April 2013 - we were 6 people: a couple with two little kids (4 and 2 years old) and grandparents. This is a perfect apartment for a family. It is newly remodeled, tastefully decorated and very clean. Plenty of sun light (and electric shutters on the windows if you don't want it). The kitchen is fully stocked (there was not an instance when we needed something that wasn't there), there are plenty of towels and even beach towels, mats, and umbrellas. Plenty of closet space with drawers and hangers. The heating system worked seamlessly on the one night when we needed to turn it on. The location is excellent: quiet neighborhood yet plenty of restaurants and cafes within a couple of blocks, a bakery and a gourmet store within 100 meters, a supermarket (within a shopping center) 3 minutes away. The beach is maybe 300 meters away and was very pleasant even when the temperature was only 18 degrees C. There are several restaurants right on the sand, and a great boardwalk for a pleasant stroll. There is a bus stop and a metro stop within 2 minutes walking from the front door to get downtown to the tourist areas (La Rambla, Passeig de Gracia), it only takes 10-15 minutes. We had a car and never used it even once. Finally, the owner, Valentin, was very professional, helpful, and clearly trustworthy. We certainly hope to return.
