Overview

Jemez Springs Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, Loft, 2 Bathrooms (sleeps 9 in beds, 2 air mattresses)

This is a beautiful, secluded log cabin nestled on three acres of forest land in the mountains above Jemez Springs at an elevation of approximately 8,300 feet. We have enjoyed this wonderful place and want to share with other friends, families and guests.

Located at mile marker 33 on Hwy 4, the cabin is 1 hour 45 minutes from the ABQ International Airport and 1 hour 20 minutes from downtown Santa Fe.

Upon arrival, you will find an array of amenities to enjoy during your relaxing mountain retreat, including:

1. an open floor plan with exposed log beams;

2. There are 3 bedrooms and a loft area, which are organized as follows:

a. 1st floor – King size bed

b. 2nd floor- Double bed

c. 2nd Floor – triple bunk (3 twins)

d. 2nd Floor Loft area – trundle bed (2 twins)

e. There is room in the loft, in the bunk room and in the living room to put the 2 air mattresses.

3. a dining room with seating for eight;

4. large windows to admire the beautiful vistas;

5. two full bathrooms;

6. a full kitchen, including a dishwasher

7. an outdoor grill;

8. a full laundry; and

9. a wood burning stove with pre-chopped wood outside.

- if you need basic groceries, Amanda’s, a small general store, located 7 miles south on Hwy. 4, has groceries, bait and tackle, and fishing licenses;

There are books, board games, video games, and movies catering to all ages. There is a flat screen TV, Blu-Ray player and XBox 360, along with basic internet access. Cable and basic television are not available. The cabin has very spotty cell reception, but has a landline with free long distance throughout the contiguous United States. Internet is also very unreliable but who needs it with all this?!

From the large front porch, which accommodates up to eight adults, you can enjoy incredible sunsets, star gazing and abundant wildlife. In the winter months, enjoy the view of the snow-capped ridge and sledding on the hill in the front of the cabin (two small sleds are provided).

Hiking is limitless, and the cabin is a perfect starting point for walks in the forest or strolls on the access road. The cabin is ten minutes from waterfalls and swimming at Jemez Falls and the East Fork Trail to the south. Fishing and hiking at Las Conchas is 10 minutes away to the north. Within 25 minutes you can visit Bandelier National Monument, the Valles Caldera or Fenton Lake. Within 30 minutes you can be in downtown Los Alamos in the north, skiing in Pajarito Ski Area or be in downtown Jemez Springs to the south.

The Village of Jemez Springs has great shopping flavored by local artists. There are great restaurants, including a real saloon where you can eat, drink and meet the locals. Also located in Jemez Springs is the famous hot springs and full service day spa where everyone on your trip can be pampered after a long day of enjoying the outdoors.

Enjoy the wonderful cabin with your friends and loved ones in this beautiful mountain setting. Have fun, enjoy the views, the air, and the peace and quiet.

We are willing to consider all events on our property. Please contact us regarding specific limitations and fees related to events.

This cabin was such a breath of fresh air. It's set against a stunning backdrop in the Jemez mountains, and the cabin itself was to die for. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away, this is the place for you. Everything you need is included- from the back patio bbq, to the cozy living room. We will most definitely be back.

Wonderful Place to go!

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing place to spend time away from the stress of it all! I loved the fact that everything we could possibly want was there, stocked in the cabin. The area is secluded and private and was just a really fun place to stay! Would highly recommend!

Above and Beyond !

  • 5 of 5

I work in a busy ER and took the time to get away into the Jemez for a much-needed short vacation in the pines. And it was just what the doctor ordered. The cabin was warm and welcoming. Loved the back porch area where I bbq'd every dinner and relaxed in the sun while enjoying the breeze through the pines and NOT listening to the city. In the evening, I moved to the beautiful view provided by the front porch and enjoyed the sunset. I placed a call to Jason on day two to ask a dumb question and he was more than happy to answer and question if all was well and if there was anything else needed. Great host. Everything possibly needed was in the cabin to include a great bottle of wine to welcome guests. Enjoyed the local hiking and running in the high altitude clean air. A little music in front of the fireplace and doing much of nothing was perfect. Whether it's a family retreat or just a solo quiet visit, this is a cabin you should visit. I'll be back !

Perfectly perfect! GREAT RENTAL. PERIOD!

  • 5 of 5

Big Foot Cabin was SUCH a wonderful property. Everything was just as described in the listing. Jemez Springs Mountains are gorgeous and you really get to take in all the views on the way up I-4 to get to the cabin. Inside, the cabin was clean, tidy, very homey and welcoming. The owners even left out a bottle of wine for our arrival. How thoughtful! There were plenty of dishes and kitchen appliances. We made all kinds of food while we were there and didn't want for anything. The cabin stayed nice and warm when it started to snow. The wood burning fire was SO awesome--both for ambiance and warmth. Also, there's plenty of warm blankets around the cabin that we were perfectly taken care of. Lots to do and see around here. Great for the outdoor loving crowd! The owners were SO patient when I started sending him several texts and emails about what was in the cabin so we could prepare for what we needed to bring. But he never made me feel like I was bothering him or annoying. Very polite and professional! The owner did tell us beforehand about a neighborhood dog named Betty that likes to come over to Big Foot Cabin from time to time, but asked us to please not feed or pet her. Well, there was sweet little Betty when we pulled up. We honored the owner's request not to engage with her, but man was she beautiful! It was hard to comply with the rules! ;) She came to visit us a few times over the weekend. It was like an old friend. Such a sweet memory to have of our wonderful vacation in Big Foot Cabin. It snowed while we were there and we took advantage of the sleds and the hill that are there. It was so fun, even for 4 of us thirty-somethings! Brought back great childhood memories! You won't be disappointed! GREAT RENTAL.

Fully functional cabin with plenty to do

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for an out of town weekend reunion of old friends. The kitchen held an impressing depth of cooking tools, the bedrooms and space slept 8 incredibly well, the DVD and game selection was more than ample, and the porch was a great spot to simply hang out. A hike to a peak via fire roads was right out the back door, and when there is snow, the sled in the shed allowed for some great rides down the side yard slope. The place is a good trek from ABQ airport but the drive through the Reservation, Jemez Springs, and the mountains is worth it. You really feel like you are away from it all. The owners were very responsive and provided a lot of guidance on how to plan for the weekend, including outlining supplies that we are already at the cabin.

Would definitely come back again. And again.

Impressive in the most positive sense!

  • 5 of 5

This very nice, neat, clean and luxurious house was also centrally located for our needs. All amenities are there - nothing lacking, In fact we were not even able to take advantage of some.

As impressive and fully satisfying as the house was, Jason deserves great credit for his understanding of our somewhat eclectic schedules and coordination's among our group. In the end, it was Jason that made this such a successful and enjoyable stay. His flexibility and understanding really set him and this nice house above the rest!

We will definitely stay there again if at all possible, and would recommend it to friends and family.
